Used to be a regular customer but dayumm now it looks disgusting! I mean the food is cheap and decent but we got pigeons flying everywhere! Might as well bring a bird cage!!! I would recommend Hong Kong restaurant just a few stores away from Giant Scoop.

The fried chicken is so good… And the cheap strawberry cheesecake ice cream is a must. I used to come here all the time during middle school thus why my BMI is equal to our country’s debt to China

If I was a poor college student or just a middle school kid, I would put this place as my #1 eating spot. The ice cream brand is Crystal(which I recognized when I was in Humbolt County). The ice cream is smooth. $ 1.25 for two scoops. The taste wasn’t distinctively green tea or coffee. Maybe it was too cold for me to taste it. The two items with one choice of either rice, flat noodles, or chow mein. It was worth it and they weren’t stingy! The lady was very nice. Yes, the place looks dumpy, but I’m not paying for the décor. This is your«mom and pop» place. You are coming to a family owned place. Everything looked fresh. The fried chicken strips were good. The broccoli beef really had beef. They are not skimpy. They were generous and the food was fresh.

This place is making me second guess Unilocal.I went in bc i read the ice cream was yummy and cheap and now that I live in HP I’m trying out the nearby spots. Walking in the place was a mess. There were boxes everywhere and it looked like somebody’s kitchen rather than a café. The ice cream looked old and icy. I got a scoop of coffee ice cream for $.65. It was a total waste of the calories. My husband was hungry so he got the combo and it tasted average. I wouldn’t have let him order food there but the health report on the wall stated they got a score of 100. Good place to get filled up if you’re on a super broke budget but i wouldn’t go there again. Lady behind the counter was nice.

The food here is ok, a little too greasy for my liking although sometimes i get it, however the ice cream is super yummy and costs next to nothing!!! Wow! :) My favorite local ice cream shop. I can walk in with a dollar and come out with an ice cream so giant i can barely hold it. No wonder its called«giant scoop» for it really is.

Can’t comment on the ice cream that other Unilocalers love, but what I can say is that my little box of soy sauce chicken almost collapsed from oil before I got home. Which has me asking, does the name actually refer to a giant scoop of oil? Should I have been expecting more? Nope. That still doesn’t make it right.

i used to pass by here all the time to get ice cream when i’d walk to another barbershop i’d go to. can’t beat 2 scoops for $ 1! and they’re not cheap baskin-robbin square scoops, these use the old fashioned scoops and scoop it big! they also have a hot food table where they have chinese fast food.

My friend’s parents own this restaurant! I have been coming here for the longest time, ever since I was in elementary school. Their ice cream is soo cheap! 50cents for a scoop and two scoops for $ 1, but I think it should be .75cents for two scoops. They have green tea ice cream! It is quite yummy! They have french fries! A lot of $ 2. I always get either fried rice with sweet and sour pork or chow mien with sweet and sour pork.
