A throwback to the past, great steak, baked potato, garlic bread and salad with a beer for under $ 20. Only thing is that parking sucks. Will definitely go back.

So good. Old time food. Cheap. Lot of food for your money. This is my new spot. Surprised they don’t have liver & onions. Kinda reminds me of The pantry in L.A. On 9th& Figuroa.

You get alot of food! The steaks are pretty legit for the price. Also the beers on tap are really cheap. Haven’t tried the chicken yet but maybe next time. Don’t let the décor fool you. It is a little dated but that’ didn’t seem to hurt the food any.

Stepping into Geneva Steak House is like going back in time to 1983. Back then, there used to be plenty of places that served large portions of meat at good prices for the working man. Although other reviewers seem to hate the décor, I actually loved the ambience and it reminded me of many dining establishments that have long since disappeared. Not only do they have comfy booths with benches that sink 8 inches when you sit in them, they even play 80’s pop music! My steak meal was accompanied with the tunes of Laura Branigan and the Thompson Twins. Since they call themselves a Steak House, I really wanted to love the steak. Unfortunately, their«USDA Choice» club steak was as tough as beef jerky, and about as dry. I had ordered it medium rare, but it came out well done in some places and medium/well in others. Although the steak was mediocre at best, everything else was pretty tasty — especially the salad. The greens were very fresh, and the roasted beets complimented the excellent house made thousand island dressing. The baked potato was very moist and was perfectly prepared, and the cheese toast was pretty good too. All together, the meal was an excellent value at $ 17 including a Diet Coke and tip.

We returned here for dinner again, and it was a mess. We were disappointed with the service and the food this time. Service = not even remotely friendly this time, and they barely acknowledged us. They also did not give us silverware with the plates of salad. When we went to ask for them, they gave us blank stares, as if we had not even ordered yet and were being rude for asking. Eventually, they did give us silverware and napkins, too.(Usually it goes with the salad since that’s the first course. How were we supposed to consume the first course without any silverware???) Salad = they drowned it in dressing. It was revolting. We picked out the vegetables from the sea of dressing. The food was burnt when it did arrive on the table. His T-bone steak was burnt. My chicken kabob was burnt, too. We did not bother taking home any leftovers this time. We won’t bother coming back here. Not worth the time.

I have been going here for almost 20 years and nothing has changed, still the same friendly stuff and same great food that they have always served. I hope that in another 20 years it will remain the same. Don’t let the exterior fool you, this place is one of the best places to eat for a great meal that leaves you full & stays affordable.

This place is a hole in the wall, and looks really grimy, but the steak is pretty good! A friend recommended me, after I had experienced crappy food at a really expensive steakhouse, and I’m so glad I listened! The meal came with an entrée, salad, baked potato and bread all for $ 14.99, such a good deal. Had a nice conversation with the owner too. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food at a decent price.

Amazing steak for such a reasonable price. It’s so delicious here!’ It’s a must try! Try the Club Steak, you will not be disappointed. It’s 13.99 for the steak, garlic bread, baked potato, and a big plate of salad. I got it medium and it was cooked perfectly. Don’t underestimate the place by its looks!

Good value & interesting experience in the heart of the Mission at a good price for steak dinner! The salad portion was especially large! Nothing fancy here! But comfortable booth seating in a diner serving steak dinners!

As other Unilocalers said, this place looks like it’s still in the late 70’s. We went there Friday evening for dinner but not knowing what to expect. I thought this was a sit down place but it’s a place where you order and pay upfront and they’ll bring the food to you. Both of us ordered a T bone and it was alright. Wasn’t the best steak but wasn’t the worse either. All round it was $ 45 that I could’ve spent elsewhere or home. Don’t think we’ll be back.

Im gonna give these guys 5 stars for the reason of Value. It is a hole in the wall but not filthy. In decent shape. Nostalgic interior like a 70s remodel. But the steaks are big and the prices are cheap. Huge salad, Fresh prepared beats for salad optional. great marinade. Super cheap price. Cant beat it in SF. Every time we are in the area we stop by.

I came in here with my boyfriend to try the popular BBQ chicken special. When we started to order and I asked the guy making the food what kind of dressing he had for the salad he started to get irritated. I also asked him to put the dressing on the side he said he culdnt and wen we asked to get a pitcher he said we looked too young even though he saw our ids and refused to give us the beer! We left and ended up going to El Pollo Supremo!

One of the best hole in the wall restaurants around. The décor is old and outdated but it’s what make Geneva steakhouse unique. The price is unbeatable for the quality and amount of food they give. The food is excellent and I absolutely love it! One of my favorites!

Don’t let the mixed 1970’s décor fool you. This place is really good. I ordered my steak med-well, it was cooked perfectly and it tasted really good. It was served with a really big dinner salad, garlic bread, and a baked potato, all of which were really good. The restaurant makes its own sauces, the ranch dressing and steak sauce are a must try!!! They also have the bakery make their own recipe for the garlic bread, yum!!! The service is EXCELLENT; super friendly!!! Prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. Parking is tough, but it is well worth searching for a place to park!!!

The boyfriend had been wanting to take me here for awhile so I decided just to go with him(woohoo to new experiences) Okay, first the chef looked completely miserable maybe he was just so tired and had a long day he wasn’t really up to part or nearly even smiled which I wasn’t so bothered by it because he wasn’t being snobby. We all have bad days we are all human! Besides that the food I got the steak sandwich with rice and a salad. I don’t like salads unless I make them myself but it was alright my boyfriend ate it in like 2.3 seconds I kid you not lol. The steak sandwich and rice were overly greasy but for some reason I enjoyed it. This food is definitely comfort food… If I come here a lot I probably won’t fit in my skinny jeans anymore. Seriously in a odd way I loved this amazing greasy sandwich! just smile next time chef(:

The boyfriend had been wanting to try this place out for the longest. He said it’s been around forever and was curious about how the food was. Do not let the 4-stars here on Unilocal fool you! They are far from 4-stars. More like zero to one star if that. The place is definitely one word: OLD! Very out dated. Everything from the furniture to the signs to the artificial flowers on the tables are very tattered. Food was drenched in butter! I mean my steak, bread, and baked potato were swimming in a pool of it. Are they trying to give people heart attacks by clogging their arteries? The baked potato was overcooked and probably had been sitting in a hot chafing dish since the time they opened. The steak was ok! Nothing I couldn’t have made myself at home. I could have made my bf’s dinner worth his while if I had just gone to Lucky’s and picked up a couple of t-bone steaks and grilled it at home. Not to mention, we could have saved the $ 15.99 we spent per plate. The whole time I was shooing away the little fruit flies(nats) buzzing around. Gross! Especially when you’re trying to eat. The man serving the food was rude and weird. What bothered me most was that his damn thumb kept touching the food each time he picked up a plate to hand it to us. Disgusting! I don’t think I need to keep going, do I?

Geneva Steak is a an old school connection to this Neighborhood. It’s been here for as long as I remember and every city blue collar neighborhood has this cheap and filling hof brau type of joint. The service snarky. The interior dated. The red seats are like your gramma’s antique couch, as soon as you sit you’ll sink like 4 inches.( ) Ordered the FRENCHBURGER — $ 7. A staple back in my high school and the taste took me back to my childhood. Big hunk of meat cheeseburger in between a buttered and toasted french roll. It came with a surprisingly fresh side salad. Even though the burger isn’t anything special, it gets the job done of keeping you full throughout the day.( ) All their food is cooked to order but always cooked well done even after requesting med rare. Not really surprisingly actually, it’s that type of dive. I might come back to try their cheap steaks. But I prefer my meat a little bloody. 2.5 stars.

This is a classic joint with cooked items that have the prices of yesteryears. Well somewhat cheaper, but without a doubt affordable. I was rollin’ around Geneva Ave. and I saw a special posted on the window of this classic restaurant. Sign: I did get that BBQ Chicken special for my lunch. For $ 7.75, I get a half of a rotisserie-cooked chicken smothered in a homemade Barbecue sauce with a side of baked potato, garlic bread and a salad. Just by the listing the amount of food given to me, this special was indeed a «feast». The chicken was tender and cooked just right. The homemade Barbecue sauce was unique and adds a kick on the chicken. My only complaint is that the cook put a foundation of butter in my baked potato and garlic bread. The two were good and flavorful, but way too much butter. I also added a bottle of Jarrito with my meal. A drink you don’t see in many steak houses. My meal: I like the prices here and may try the T-Bone steak, burgers and kebabs here. I also like the $ 1.99 pint and $ 6.00 pitcher of Budweiser, which may be a future plan. Be aware, you must bring cash to dine here(also posted on the window). There is a BofA next door. But I have to go to Walgreens to get some money for my lunch.
