G & H has a large section of beers, all priced reasonably, nice selection of market priced 22 oz. microbrews, downside is aisles too cramped. hard to see pricing on bottom rung without bumping in to something. brew: drake’s denog(6.79) –similarly priced at the big stores –lots of buzz, hoppiness. on draught: –even metered parking iffy to find in this ‘hood.

Clean store but horrible customer service This like many convenient stores in the Tenderloin draw a certain«crowd» so I kinda understand their I do not give a sh*t attitude. I live over in SoMa, but I come out to the Tenderloin to buy lotto scratchers for my dad and I when all the stores in our area is closed. I really like how G & H has the lotto scratcher machine, so I ended up getting almost of my scratchers there because of the machine. Some day last week I went in to buy some scratchers, I bought something so I could break a $ 20 because I didn’t want to spend a whole $ 20 on scratchers. I get my change and the candy I bought then got my scratchers. I look around to see if there is another snack I could buy because I feel bad for always just getting scratchers. I hear the employee behind the counter say«Excuse me ma’am, what did you take?» Repeatedly I didn’t turn around when I hear that many times because I did not take anything, I then after hearing it so much turn around and he was talking to me. I said«me?» In a very confused tone and he replied rudely with«I saw you take something, what did you take!» I immediately opened my purse and my shopping bag and placed them on the counter infront of him, he looked through them thoroughly, then gave me a shocked look and then looked at me to see if I had anything in my pockets, I didn’t have any pockets at all, then he said«oh I guess you really don’t have anything» then I replied with«Yes, I don’t shoplift, but thank you for treating me like a criminal» I understand how they don’t want people to steal from their store, but they shouldn’t wrongfully accuse someone of a crime they don’t commit, he didn’t even apologize or anything. Horrible customer service.

These guys are absolutely amazing. I live very close to G & H, and while I can’t wait to find an [affordable] apartment in a more pleasant neighborhood, I can’t believe my luck at having THIS shop just down the block from me. — If you’re visiting for the first time, they’ll welcome you with a cheerfulness not often found in TL shops. Seriously… they’re always smiling. I dare you to find that anywhere else in the TL. — The riffraff gets booted out, pronto.(but not with violence or unnecessary rudeness) — They won’t offer you drugs. And they won’t sell drugs to random creepers. Or put up with that shit. In other words: safe haven from crack deals. — They have all of the necessities, and nothing on the shelves or in the fridges is ever past its expiration date.(This may not seem like a worthy mention, but BELIEVE me, they’re careful about these things in a way most other shops in the area are NOT.) — Their hotdogs are legit. — Prices are super reasonable. — Once you’re a regular, they’ll go out of their way to stock up on what you want. Oh and(if you’re like me) you’ll be happy to hear that they have a… — CA Lottery Scratch card machine!(as well as other regular lottery options, but who doesn’t love a scratcher?) Note that they close at 12 every night, so get here before then or risk being forced to go to what I call«the scary store» and«the slightly scary store», respectively. Both of which are rape zones, at least as far as I can tell. Best not to test such theories too often. I LOVETHESEGUYS. They’re so friendly and helpful… temperaments which are surprising around here and which must be difficult to uphold when constantly dealing with the people they deal with on a daily basis. If you’re visiting this crazy neighborhood, or you live here and haven’t yet found your local«go-to» shop, check out Frankie’s store. It is legittttttt.

This place has been here for awhile — — since I was still in elementary school ! This place is just another ‘corner store’ that exists on almost every block in tha TL. I don’t go here much, just when needed.
