I came here a looooooong time ago. I remember that first time, I dragged my siblings here just so we can try their housemade mochi… Unfortunately, they ran out so that was the biggest let down ever! I came back for the second time last week with the bf and tried all their flavors and they had mochi this time around! I got the Reg Tart and the bf got the Soy yogurt. Both were good and I can definitely taste the quality here at Fraiche! I liked it but I can’t say I’m dying to come back

Swung by on a cold day and got a drip coffee. The drip coffee was pretty good. The froyo seems to be very limited in flavours. This place is small, but very open. They have desserts up front, and coffee /tea in the back. Overall I think this is an okay place, but I just felt very confused while being here.

Delectable froyo! I got a non-dairy Maple flavor, made with almond milk. Sooo good. For toppings, I had homemade mochi, handmade granola, and organic brownie bits. They tasted awesome, but I liked the granola the best. Texture-wise, it wasn’t as smooth and creamy as regular froyo. But that didn’t take anything away from the overall taste. Highly suggest this Semi-healthy treat for a hot summer day!

I can definitely appreciate homemade yogurt and homemade toppings. We stopped by Fraiche on a Friday night. There was zero wait. The space houses a few small tables. They serve the typical frozen yogurt flavors and change up their seasonal flavors. They’ve got quite a selection of fresh fruit toppings, homemade mochi and large blocks of chocolate for chocolate shavings. Prices are a little high for frozen yogurt, but I suppose it’s not too much of a stretch for artisanal, homemade stuff. We shared a cup of plain yogurt with homemade mochi and chocolate shavings. The frozen yogurt was a very refreshing dessert for an unusually warm night. The texture was creamy and ever so slightly grainy, which I didn’t expect. The mochi tasted chewy and fresh, not at all rubbery. It was a little too much mochi for me, because there was so much chewing involved. The chocolate shavings, however, tasted a little off to me. It was oddly sour, and not chocolate-y enough. That will teach me to deviate from the fruit toppings I usually go for. If I return, I’d probably try the chocolate with just fruit. For now, I’d say it is a 7⁄10.

Came here one night with a friend craving some fro-yo after seeing all the raving reviews on Unilocal.Parking is a little difficult but that’s to be expected in the Fillmore. The store itself was very bright with a good amount of seating. But, first and foremost the fro-yo is overpriced and then my friend wanted graham crackers as her topping and literally received a small amount of graham powder. For $.50 she should be getting a whole cracker! The yogurt tasted decent but not amazing. I guess it’s just not suited to my tasted and will be looking for other fro-yo places in the city.

I got a Dairy free maple(almond milk) and a large Chocolate. $ 4.50 for a small. $ 6.95 for a large and one topping. $.50 each additional topping I like it. :) I love that the milk and yogurt is all organic dairy. The Mochi was out of stock. :( There’s a lot of traffic in and out! When I first got here I almost left because it looked so dead. After we started ordering people started to come in and out. It was a pretty busy flow.

Hands down the best froyo ever and it’s organic! Too notch! The toppings are amazing! Their mochi is the best and wow they have figs too! Love it here!

Love the fraiche in Palo Alto, but the fraiche in SF has quality control issues: I got a plain frozen yogurt and there was no tartness to it — instead there was a hint of sour/expired milk. The homemade Mochi also had QC issues: it was too dry and cut into too large of pieces.

Froyo is the BEST thing for those hot 75-degree summer days… in February. I love the tart flavor and fresh fruit toppings, but why so stingy! I ordered the small with strawberries, blackberries and toasted coconut($ 7). I just wish I got more than four blackberries. Free wifi and lots of seating, and nice getaway from the Fillmore crowds.

FRESH. As the name implies! I have never had frozen yogurt this fresh or this good in my entire life. This was grade A delicious stuff, definitely 5 stars. The amazing fruit and fresh mochi made this place really stand out. I don’t have a hard time calling this place actually ‘artisanal’ because they are a cut above the rest of the froyo joints. I don’t think I can ever go to Red Mango or Pinkberry again after having this. The staff really went out of their way to explain the ingredients to my friend who has allergies, so that made a difference too. I really want to see this place expand but stay true to form.

I went in hoping to try something new, but left not even getting anything. Their service is great, but the flavors to the frozen yogurt is off. I get the whole fat free and organic type of stuff is good for you, but this has a weird after taste each you eat it. Don’t think i’d be returning anytime soon

Why did they get rid of soy and pomegranate?! Is there some place where I can check what the flavors of the day are??? Anyway apparently they just rotate it in and out so I came on the wrong day. I tried the Oreo and chocolate almond but it was gross/mediocre

Found this place on accident and I’m glad we did. A friend and I were looking for breakfast and stumbled upon this place. We both tried the SF Chronicle Special, which is a bottom foundation of oatmeal, dollops of in-house made yogurt(choose between regular, low fat, nonfat) on top, and choice of any five topping(about 20 choices including various fruits, fruit compote, various nuts, flax seed, etc.), all for $ 6.25 We were both quite satisfied with our choices. Store is clean and the employees are nice. Also ordered a soy latte, and this is where I think there could have been some improvement. Would still definitely come back, looking forward to trying different combinations of oatmeal and toppings. They’re known for their yogurt though it seems.

Dropped by Fraiche today. The natural yogurt tasted different, did the formula change? It tastes less icy, and less like yogurt, sadly more like the plain frozen yogurt that other stores sell. I am worried the formula changed and that the ingredients are now less natural. Eek.

This place destroyed any affinity I had to conventional froyo shops. Not kidding. I can’t go to Yogurtland or Pinkberry anymore and I don’t live in SF, so that means I’ve gone cold turkey until I can get back there again. Their fresh, yogurt treat was by far more superior and tasty than all others. I got the plain(or tart) yogurt with a compote. It’s really the only type of sweet that I need in my life. I hope they open a shop around my area one day soon… or I will have to buy a plane ticket just to get back to this place…

My roommates and I were craving froyo at 10PM and although this was not our first choice we ended up swinging by because it was the only Place opened. Me and my other roommate got the soy which was dairy and Gluten free and our third roommate got the Chocolate. The soy was alright it was something new! It was really icy rather than the creamy tart yogurt that i am used too, and as for the chocolate it tasted like any other chocolate froyo. For toppings we got graham crackers, strawberry, brownies which were all really good but the Mochi was too big and overwhelming and the blackberry jam was too sour, and dominated the taste over the yogurt, and the workers there were really weird and awkward I did not feel comfortable

Refreshing! Didn’t like at first bite because it was a bit too yogurty, but it grew on me. Chocolate is pretty standard froyo, but they have fancy toppings: shaved chocolate, coconut flakes, fresh fruit, smashed brownies. Very clean interior and an overall charming little frozen yogurt shop.

What happened, Fraiche? Seriously? I used to love coming to you for a cup of soy yogurt topped with the delicious bite sized mochi and your roasted coconut flakes. Now you tell me I can’t get a junior sized cup and would have to get a regular(which costs about $ 5 to start) then adding toppings is another $ 0.50-$ 0.75. And your mochi is no longer bite sized! It’s huge and not ideal when sharing. And to make things worse, you didn’t even have soy. There are 4 flavors and a few are rotated out, but soy is so delicious it should go back to being a staple. My total came out to be $ 6.55 for a cup of yogurt. Thank god I shared it with my boyfriend or I’d be out over $ 13 for some yogurt… I hear other locations still serve the junior and soy, so I’ll probably be headed there, and wouldn’t go out of my way to come to this location again.

Although the organic part of the yogurts here is indeed the special characteristics about this place, I wouldn’t come back again. The reason is due to the lack of flavor in the original plain yogurt, and the strong cinnamon taste in the pumpkin. The chocolate flavor was ok, nothing outstanding past other chocolate froyo I’ve tried before. I didn’t try the soy flavor at all. The mochi, I was told, was homemade. That did taste good. The raspberry jam was ok, not too sweet, not too tart. But all this is again pointing to my reason not to come back; the flavors overall are just not distinctive enough for me to come back for the third time. The texture of the original flavor was closer to icy and the price is not worth it either. Side note, the best frozen yogurt I’ve had was from Orange Tree in the South Bay. This place has very special flavors that I’ve not found in anywhere else. Papaya and watermelon were the best. Texture is so creamy and smooth.

Basic in the best way possible. If you’re not someone who’s into health conscious foods, you probably shouldn’t step in here. I absolutely love the SF chronicle froyo for breakfast. I would recommend it with the froyo instead of regular yogurt. It’s low fat, only slightly sweet, filling, and amazing with the oatmeal at the bottom. Other flavors are strawberry, chocolate, and soy. + dried figs, a wide variety of fruit, and toasted coconut as toppings and under $ 7? For 5 toppings + froyo + oatmeal that’s pretty good. Servers are always generous and friendly. They also serve blue bottle coffee!

I got to give it up to the Fraiche family for putting out quality HOMEMADE yogurt of all sorts for the San Francisco community. Yes, they make most, if not all, of their yogurts(Greek, Soy, and Milk) and toppings(Mochi, fruits, chocolate) in-house fresh daily. PROPS! I love their chocolate froyo, topped with mochi and cookie dough. Their cookie dough is legit! This is definitely one of my top froyo dessert place in the city.

Shoutout to Reuben, the only worker we interacted with when we walked in during a break from window shopping in Fillmore. Reuben was smiley and polite with his service… a BIG pick-us-up after a sour experience browsing a nearby clothing store, Scotch & Soda earlier. The only other Fraiche I had ever been to before was in Palo Alto, and it was much bigger in space and had more employees manning the area. Even with the smaller space though, this Fraiche did not give off that obnoxious/snooty vibe that the one in Palo Alto emanates. Their mochi here is just as delicious – pillowy-soft and cut in big chunks! I will ALWAYS stand by Fraiche mochi. We also got the blackberry topping all on a bed of original froyo for the base. Extra brownie points for Reuben who immediately offered samples of their seasonal pomegranate flavor which was tart and delicious! There is a restroom here that is clean and one stall. They have serve-yourself water and plenty of indoor and a few outdoor tables as well. I would definitely be back to this location if I’m ever near Japantown/Fillmore.

Unfortunately, there weren’t many options when it came to dessert places on Fillmore Street, the part closer to Pac Heights. So we were left with only 2 options: Sift & Fraiche. Unfortunately, overly decadent cupcakes packed with added sugars wasn’t something we were craving at the time(or any time for that matter). By process of elimination, we decided on Fraiche, a word meaning«fresh» in French. They’re known for serving natural nonfat yogurt. I’ve come here before and have only been mildly satisfied with the yogurt. Yes, it’s fresh and creamy, but my taste buds don’t jump at every opportunity to take the next bite. Maybe my taste buds lack refinement, but I didn’t seem to be the only one who thought Fraiche was just okay. My friends didn’t seem to care for it either. The only person who did, however, was my boyfriend. He compared it to cottage cheese(his favorite), but less clumpy. At least someone enjoyed it. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not bad, but for me it couldn’t be eaten without toppings. You know it’s good when you can eat it on its own. I didn’t really feel that way about this one and I’ve had A LOT of yogurt from different places [**try me**]. Word of Advice: I think if you’re in the neighborhood for over-priced and alright-tasting yogurt, then I might suggest this place, but it still wouldn’t be one of my top choices. I think you’re better off making the trek over to Yogurt Park in Berkeley. It costs less and tastes better. So, I don’t know if I would come here again unless I have an intense craving for fro-yo, which can usually be abated by drinking water.

If you’re into expensive yuppie fro yo, I think this is totally your jam. I had heard tales of the legendary, somewhat elusive vegan Nutella frozen yogurt. Sometimes it’s there, sometimes it’s not. People said that the flavor used to be plain… which sounds exceptionally off-putting. I’m glad they are working on expanding their vegan selection. One is better than none. Flavor is better than none. The trio of us vegan folk entered, visions of delightful dairy-free dessert dancing in our little heads. Our eyes peeped the sign… vegan Nutella was there! We had made it. We had arrived. My hands quivered with excitement. My mouth salivated. Could it be? Was it so? To my disappointment, I did not really like it. I paid nearly $ 7(!) for a tiny cup of frozen dessert with some mixed berries on top. It was good, but it could have been really great, especially with the way my friends were talking it up. I guess the hype surpassed the actual experience, which is usually the way it goes. I think the main issue was the flavor. I didn’t taste much(if any) chocolate. It tasted more like a peanut butter/nut butter/hazelnut butter flavor rather than Nutella. It was missing the extra sweetness that more cocoa would have provided. I was sorely disappointed, especially after making the long and perilous journey to this remote part of San Francisco that I rarely(if ever) frequent. We all tried to make the best of it. I think my other friends liked it more than I did. Maybe I’ve just become snobbish? Too snobby for a snobby place, methinks. I love and appreciate Fraiche for having a vegan flavor, but it needs a little fine tuning to get it to the next level. I can’t wait to see them perfect it. Then I will be a regular customer, even if it means a $ 10 cup o’ fro’ yo’.

Pretty darn good yogurt with all-natural ingredients and a lovely assortment of toppings to choose from. I think it’s the best yogurt place on the block after checking out a few nearby. Service was friendly and the vibe inside was relaxed so we stayed to finish our treats. Will be back!

Frozen yogurt places are a dime a dozen and it’s tough to find one that stands out among the masses. Fraiche hits the spot every time and has been a permanent stop whenever I’m in the area. With blue bottle coffee, fresh baked goods, two to three daily flavors and a magazine rack, it’s a fab place to take a break when strolling around Lower Pac Heights. I love that their toppings are as grown-up as they come. No garishly colored cereal or candy bars in sight. Think various nuts, lightly dusted mochi, a giant block of fair-trade chocolate that they shave off upon order(wish I could have that set-up at home!), and fruit purees like apricot, strawberry rhubarb and olallieberry that taste fresh-picked. Yes. Please. Go with the original tart! The daily flavors are great but I prefer to have a basic base to add toppings to. A small with two toppings will run you close to $ 6 – 7 but if you’re like me and consider fro-yo dinner, you’re as good as gold.

Refreshing yogurt with the classic buzzwords«artisanal» and«organic» written right on the cup. The interior is clean and modern and the service was quick and nice. There was only a short wait when I got there mid afternoon on a weekend day. There is limited seating inside. I ordered a small of half lemon(flavor only available on some days) half soy yogurt with 3 toppings and it came out to almost $ 7. I was really surprised by the prices compared to other frozen yogurt places but I guess you are paying for the quality. I liked seeing that the shaved chocolate toppings are actually shaved off this giant slab of chocolate on the counter. Overall good yogurt to have once in awhile but too pricey to be my regular frozen yogurt place.

I came here earlier this week for my first time and wasn’t to impressed. Let me start by saying. I was comparing this to a Nubi/Menchies, but ohh I was wrong! This location is small with about 4 tables inside and in the back there is a bathroom for custom to use. They have the menu on the wall of all the special things they offer. What caught my eye is that they had the natural flavor yogurt which was way better then the chocolate, soy or lemon flavor that they had. All their ingredients are organic which really impressed me and I enjoyed the mochi and honey! Yummy! Customer service here is so-so not nothing to brag about lady that was taking my order seemed really hot and bothered. I guess it was because I was interfering with her break :-/. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning back to this location let alone this company.
