I love it when your barista’s personality matches the weather = warm! In search for a quick coffee break option but not wanting to deal with Blue Bottle, the Four Barrel stand that has arrived on Thursdays at the Farmer’s Market was exactly what I needed. Even more so, the Nitro Cold Brew that I had was delicious such that I went to their Mission outpost this weekend to have it again. While I’ve had their coffee before, I had a great experience here and will be coming back again soon!

Long line, no clear system for tracking and attributing orders. Ultimately it all gets messed up and becomes a huge confusing for who ordered what. Good coffee terrible organization

What is it about getting food and drink from temporary structures that makes it such a pleasantly alluring experience? Is it the latent fragility? The realization of temporal liminality inherent within the location? I don’t know, I’m just a simple bus driver, so as far as I can tell, it’s probably just the side effect of a beautiful day at the ferry building playing pranks on my fragile mind. Oh well. About that coffee… It’s four barrel, so it rocks hard. The pour over was lovely, sparkling citrus, great acidity, typically badass. They were out of iced coffee by the time my hungover ass rolled on, but the iced Americano was well balanced, and absolutely delightful with a touch of Strauss farms Barista milk. As for the service, removing the pretentious confines of the taxidermy-heavy mission district shop was wonderful, both of the guys working the tent were delightful to talk to, incredibly efficient and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Maybe everything IS better in the summer sun from a tent.
