Decently priced gas station. This would be a good place to put some gas in your car if you’re using cash! Location was fine too unlike lots of other gas stations here in San Francisco — inconvenient.

The credit card feautre at the pump would not take my credit card and I had to see the attendant. Not a huge deal, but added to the time it took to pump the gas. Didn’t have a pleasant experience with attendant either.

I had a Visa gift card with a remaining balance of 36.43, and I was driving by this gas station with few miles left in my tank. I normally fill up at Shell or Chevron, but I figured, hey, whatever. I wish I had driven another block or two to a better gas station, in retrospect. The Indian cashier applied my gift card balance to the wrong pump, and the customer at that pump used all but $ 20 of the money before the cashier told him the error. I got to put the $ 20 into my tank. Supposedly the cashier figured something out with the other customer. The issue was that my remaining $ 16.43 was somewhere in limbo, maybe back on the gift card with a delay or perhaps not. The gift card reported a zero balance. Two customers who had overheard what was going on told the cashier that he should give me cash and deal with the gift card later. I insisted on the same. He refused for about half an hour, telling me to call my bank, which has nothing to do with my Visa gift card, and coming up with other reasons to not compensate me in cash. He was sure the money would go back onto my gift card… Eventually. I said, «If you’re so sure, give me cash back, keep the gift card, and call it a day. Don’t make your error the customer’s issue.» It’s the principle of the thing.

The other day I had an empty tank and filled up in this station. The gas mileage is so low than my regular places(not expensive ones).

This is one of two Flyers gas station(formerly Olympian) along 19th Ave. This location is on the west side of 19th Ave, so it’s convenient to access while traveling southbound on this busy road. Generally this is one of the lowest-priced stations on this side of town, for those who do not mind filling up their cars with non– major oil company brands. Credit card prices are generally few cents more per gallon versus cash, but that’s more than compensated for when using cards with higher gas cash back or other rewards.
