I spent the last 8 years looking for someone in the Bay Area who can cut Asian hair the way my person in SoCal does it. Sadly for several years I waited to make the trip down to SoCal to have my hair cut. Last year, I decided to give Ivy a shot and could not have been happier! I pulled up several pictures of what I was going for — I wanted 5 – 6 inches cut off and remove the layers I’ve had for forever. Ivy took her time, and gave a haircut that fit my face perfectly!
Fast forward six months, I went to a place near my apt to touch up the hair cut, and paid around 5x what I paid at Fame. It was not nearly as good of a job that Ivy did. I went back 2 months ago to have her cut again and Ivy fixed the crappy job the other place did! She’s amazing!
Ivy has cut my boyfriend’s hair for the last 7 years– before Fame she was at another salon. We trust her completely with our haircuts because she is consistent and does a great job. Not to mention the prices are always fair. I highly recommend checking this place out for whatever haircut you have in mind! You’re welcome in advance :)

Very friendly people. Family owned, I get my haircuts from Ivy, love her sense of style! I have a few friends that I recommended here to get their haircut too.

I went there recently. It was quite pleasure experience. They did really good job and very patient.
The salon is cleaner and brighter than some other hair salons in that area.
Price is good.

Walked by this place, The place looked nice and clean and I realized that I need a haircut.
So I walked in and the rest is the history.
They are everything that I hoped for a good simple hair salon. Again they have a grat price range + great service and great hair style. And they are very clean .What else do you want?

I went inside this salon on a whim because I needed a haircut and the other places along Clement had like a 30 min wait. I had my hair cut by the lady (ivy?) and it wasn’t too bad but I was a little surprised that she cut it dry — I was expecting her to at least spray some water on the ends before she trimmed it, I’ve never had my hair cut dry before so that was an odd experience.
All in all, I’m not super thrilled about how much she razored off my hair for the layers but it will grow back.
Also, I think this place is cash only. My haircut cost $ 18, the sign in the window said $ 15+ for haircuts.

Ivy is simply amazing. I see her every two weeks like clockwork and will continue to. Simply the best! Thank you.

Alan (if it was his name) did a great job on cutting my hair. He made the layers that I requested and also made some recommendations that were suitable for my face. Great haircut with affordable price in the neighborhood, hand on!!!

Just got a haircut! The guy that cut my hair was so rude! He gave my friend and I some rude ass attitude when my friend asked him if he can give me more layers on my hair. He replied saying no one ever gets a lot of layer, which is a lie! It usually takes people 45min plus to cut my hair because I have a lot of hair, but it took this person less that 30 mins because he didn’t give a shit about his customers. Ill never go to this place again or will I ever recommend anyone to this place! Idk why this place got such a high rating. Maybe the place have gone downhill?

Great place. Great service. Ivy is the best. I get my hair cut here every 2 weeks and she is fast, listens to exactly what I want, and does a consistently great job. Excellent place for close, detailed cuts for men. Ivy is my go to, period.

I always come to Clement st. for an affordable haircut. After three months of not cutting my hair, i decided to try out this place.
Ivy was very friendly and asked me how much I wanted to cut my hair. She didn’t push me to buy any products, unlike some other salons, and she would make sure that I was happy with my hair as she was cutting it.
I will most likely be getting a wavy perm here soon and will definitely come back for a haircut!
