what a hidden gem! this is now become my weekend brunch spot and I’m obsessed with it. it’s definitely too easy to over order because everything is so good. Portions are big as well but make great leftovers. It’s definitely worth it. Huge cups of coffee, delicious breakfast sandwiches and breakfast bagels, and I love their chicken and cheese Pupusas. Super casual place with its own character, and a very friendly and helpful staff. I’ll definitely be back there again soon!

I’ve been here twice now for breakfast. Really great food. The huevos rancheros is a delicious, hearty meal, and the bacon does not disappoint! The pancakes are also some of the best I’ve had. I haven’t tried the fancy dulce de leche pancakes, but the plain are delicious. Very good coffee.

Amazing papusas. I had the bean and cheese as well as a zuchini, kale and spinach, collard greens and cheese one!

I was looking for pizza and wandered in here thinking it was the pizza store I had located. Should have looked at the sign, duh, but I was already there and looking at the menu, the pupusas had already caught my eye! As a vegetarian I was delighted to see a nice selection of options on the Salvadorian food menu. I ordered a Super Green pupusa and a Spinach and Cheese pupusa. Both were delicious! I liked the super green better because it had more cheese and IMO was much more savory. Also got an empanadas which was very tasty. I was confused when I first saw it because they looked like potatoes with powdered sugar on them and they tasted so sweet! I must have just forgotten what an empanada was! The service was great, the music was delightful and I look forward to returning with friends!

What SF is all about! A nice homie hole in the wall with great pupusas. Had the chicken and cheese and the Veggie. Lite but very filling. Definitely returning.

I have only had their super quesadilla here, and hella bomb! It’s delicious. It’s a basic home style. Something you would make at home with cheddar cheese. To-go pick-ups take longer then the time frame quoted.

Five stars for excellent delivery service and taste! Having been hanging out at UCSF Benioff’s Children’s Hospital for nearly a month, this was such a great diversion from regular cafeteria food.(Which isn’t bad, just tiresome after a month!) The beans and cheese pupusa was so good, as was the pastelitos. My 16 year old thought his carne asada super burrito was great. One word of warning: the brownish colored salsa/sauce is HOT. We would definitely order again!

Awesome! Best takeout I’ve ever had. Veggie burrito and black bean papusa! So delicious and the hot salsa is amazing! And the delivery guy was very friendly. I’m so happy that I found good Latin food that is affordable and delivers!

Casual café serving up huge portions at super good prices! My bf got the chicken and cheese pupusa and the beef empanada, and I ordered the chicken apple sausage omelette, which came with avocado, hash browns, and toast. The omelette was probably the best I’ve had — it was huge, fluffy, and stuffed with chunks of sausage. The two of us couldn’t finish the whole thing haha. Everything else we tried was good, too! I think they’re known for their pupusas, so I’d definitely want to come back and try the other kinds.

WOW what a hidden gem! I have a friend who lives lives in the ‘hood and we were on our way to Bill graham Civic to see a show and he recommended this places and i’m soooo glad. They specialize on El Salvadorian food, and it was amazing! I got a chicharon pupusa, a beef empanada, and a panucho and they were all delicious. After tasting the food I was surprised they were so empty on a Friday night– this food is BOMB! Service is quick and food is cheap– got a pacifico to wash it all down and my dinner cost $ 15– helluva deal. We’ll definitely be back here!

This place is so great! Delicious food, great salsa, the pupusas are awesome and fresh with amazing slaw and salsas, and even the other items on the list like the enchiladas, tacos and empanadas are delightful. Lots of options and so affordable. Plus, I was blown away by the service. I paid $ 3.00 for a pupusa and the server came by and filled up my water glass and checked in to see how my meal was. It’s called a coffee shop but it’s so much more! Really nice to have a chill place in the neighborhood that is easy, delicious, cheap, and operated by such lovely people. I’ll definitely be back many many times!

A very welcome addition to the neighborhood! These guys are serious about their food and it shows. The pupusas are like freshest, doughiest, cheesiest, pillows of delight. I was disappointed at the look of the pock chuck, but I was most pleasantly surprised by how incredibly flavorful and delicious it was. Also amazing: the quesadilla. Get it with chicken or pork… holy crap. I was let down by the beet salad… it was true to its description, but it was rather flat(I’m pretty sure the«house dressing» is just oil and vinegar) and overpriced. Also, beware: they say your order will take 10 — 15 minutes, but it’s usually more like 20 — 25. Love this place though, the food speaks for itself!

Had breakfast here today and liked it! Very friendly staff and extremely tasty food. I highly recommend the pupusas. We even liked their drip coffee, which is hit or miss at places like this. We’ll be back!

Emanuel Coffee has pricey eats. maybe that’s why only 2 diners getting take out at lunch. more likely parking is a problem here. brew: organic expresso coffee(2.18)L –very bold, smooth, mellow –better than the chains. worth every penny.

Authentic Salvadorian food with excellent plate presentation in SF-Bay Area, FINALLY! You will not find any other Salvadorian café/restaurant who takes care in making sure their presentation looks neat, clean, and most importantly appetizing. The menu of the café fits with the general demographic of the neighborhood and they know how to address that by adding on vegetarian and vegan options. Food = delicious! Pupusas are not that greasy nor dry. Horchata is REAL Salvadorian Horchata! None of that cheap, nasty Horchata other Salvadorian/Mexican places serve; they got the real deal here! The service was great, the waitress Maura was very friendly and patient to take our order. Read other reviews about the space; to me its just perfect and there’s outdoor sitting! Highly recommend this place for brunch and dinner, especially if you want to taste real Salvadorian cuisine.

On my way to the n Judah I popped in to this café, what a great surprise! I’ve been waiting for a decent Hispanic spot to open in the lower haight! First off, the server Maura was very friendly and helpful with explaining the dishes. She also showed me plenty of vegetarian versions of traditional dishes! They are brand new and have great cooked to order food! They are also open until 10, which sounds great for my later night commutes! The zucchini and cheese pupusa was amazing. Bravo! Highly recommend it !

I have been waiting for this little café to open! As my boyfriend lives just across the street. While there were some hiccups with our order(they gave us a chicken papusa instead of bean and cheese) the service has been extraordinary. They gave us fresh juice while we waited in line, they let us keep the delicious pupusa for free. They are cash only for now. They have a great menu with everything from lorocco(spinach) to pancakes and an espresso machine. They are super friendly, every delicious meal was served with a smile. Even when we spilt our coffee, they were kind and cleaned everything right away. Photos speak for themselves and great hospitality. Food came out quickly and is healthy. Skip the lines at Kate’s and come try this new wonder in Lower Haight!
