Totally mind blown by how this fast food restaurant serves their food. I mean who wouldn’t be facinated seeing their own name on that cubby’s tv screen? I was skeptical about the only vegetarian menu they served. Nevertheless, I took a deep breath and the tip of my finger selected the burrito bowl on the ipad. All the ingredients were very fresh. They definitely do not cheap out on the quinoa or the avocado(unlike chipotle there is NO additional charge), and the mushroom was a great addition to the bowl. My boyfriend who is a meat lover actually loved the bowl and even wants to get some for the giants game next time.

Look into this crystal ball, and I’ll tell you the future. *waves hands around the crystal ball* The crystal ball shows Eatsa, a fast-casual restaurant that has no cashiers! The future is now… Once you walk in, you can place your order on an iPad. Then, when the food is ready, your name appears on a transparent LCD screen, and you can pull our your order! Like a Chipotle burrito bowl, you have quinoa as the base and a bunch of different add ons(like corn, artichokes, tomato, salsa, crispy wontons, and more). They also include sides like chips and guac or potato chips. To complete the meal, you can even tack on a drink. There are so many options and so many combinations. I love it! They had employees manning the Unilocal Elite event which was really nice. I am sad to see that they won’t be there once the restaurant gets all settled in. Unlike some people who are looking forward to this don’t-have-to-interact-with-humans concept, I love talking to people in the food and beverage industry! Special thanks to Abby S. for the invite. A big, big thank you to the Eatsa staff who explained the concept, helped with pictures, and gave us t-shirts as souvenirs. What a wonderful Unilocal Elite Event! And I can’t wait to go back for another quinoa bowl! :)

TLDR — fresh, healthy, affordable bowls, large variety in toppings, quick and no human interaction Super casual, super low key Elite event compared to others I’ve been to, but great new quick/casual food find. This would definitely be a frequent lunch spot for me if I worked in to this area! If you know me, you know I LOVE healthy bowls, and the more customizable they are, the better. Eatsa has bowl ideas for you, like the Burrito Bowl, Bento Bowl and Harvest Bowl, which you can also start with and modify, or you can create your own completely from scratch. There’s an option for quinoa or just greens as a base and then a variety of veggies(4 free), cheese(1 free), crunchy nut/fried toppings(1 free), sauces(1 free) and extras like edamame and truffled egg($ 1.95). Basically endless combinations! The best part is that a bowl without any extra costs is only $ 7! And it’s a pretty sizeable bowl. What’s new and unique about Eatsa is process of ordering and getting you food. You order via a tablet and then wait for your name to appear on the glass door of a cubby in the pickup area. Tap twice on the door, pick up your food and you’re ready to go! No actual human interaction. Not sure how I feel about how robotic the process seems, but 5 stars for the healthiness, variety in bowl toppings and affordability.
