Only been once, too many better alternatives nearby. Ordered the chicken taquitos, they were stale and the sides were bland.

Great taqueria with a mouth-watering selection of salsas. Spicy chicken«Special Burrito» was top notch.

Quick, convenient, and tasty. I wish the TV weren’t there, but otherwise the atmosphere is great. Not as loud in there as in many other Mission places(except for the TV).

Just forget this place, it’s way too mediocre. High volume, low quality food. Rice — cold. Canned beans — luke warm. Meats cooked in advance and set out for hours — and barely warm. Burrito — barely warm due to above ingredients. No flavor. Bare minimum bare bones go into the food quality and prep. And, everything costs around $ 10 — which is way to much to pay for the highly mediocre quality. Just

Simple, fresh, fast, friendly, inexpensive, & yummy. Sounds like a perfect lunch to me. Family owned since 74′. The line is out the door now. They are doing something right.

Food is exceptional and you get a lot of food for your money here. Wish they had better weekend hours though.

I started my Unilocal account so I could give this place 5 stars. I come here at least once a week to pickup burritos for my coworkers and myself. The place is always nice and clean, the people are always super friendly, and the food is killer. 5 stars to El Tepa and their amazing salsa bar!

First time eating at this taqueria. Got a chile relleno burrito and a chicken tamale. I liked the burrito, although it was pretty heavy on rice. I thought the tamale tasted sour, but my husband enjoyed it. I think the best thing going for El Tepa is their salsa bar. The staff was really friendly. I will definitely be back.

Great taqueria if you are looking for fresh ingredients and friendly service. My favorites are the chicken salad and the shrimp burrito(seafood is cooked when ordered, so allow extra time). Staff are knowledgeable and you can customize your order easily. Self-serve salsa bar is a plus. Dining area and bathroom are always clean.

Simply the cleanest, most well organized and best tasting Mexican spot in the Mission. I get 2 Super Tacos to go… But on various occasions have requested a specific creation and they’re nice enough to oblige! Think Steak and Shrimp burrito… Their sauce counter is always wiped down, huge flat screen to stare at while you wait your turn, fresh grilled jalapeños with the sauces and they try their best to get you out as soon as possible. Best Damn place in the Mission!

I had a chicken burrito. Very tasty. Meat was tender. The place is clean and service is great

This place is overrated just because it’s kind of cheap and because it’s the only taqueria around! Their servers are totally uneducated. Their chicken mole always gives me diarrhea. This place has had issues with the health department – I was present when it happened. Their naturally flavored hand crafted refreshments are too sweet! Below average, overall!

Grabbed a «super» fish taco so that I may use their restroom– which was very clean. Taco was reasonably priced, $ 3, and piled high– looked more like a salad. Was going to be impossible to eat as a taco, but luckily they give you a bag of chips to go so I ate it with that. It was yummy, tilapia was good too. Food looked hot and fresh, everyone there looked happy, whether cooking or eating.

food poisoning. spent all day yesterday sleeping and heaving, thanks to this place. 3 unfriendly women were all upset at me and my friend for disrupting their conversations and asking them to make us a veggie burrito. AVOID this place, sadly

Great discovery. Prices are reasonable, portions are great(split a burrito with a friend and I was very full), the sauces!!! Are fresh, tasty, and clean. Joe is the man! Thanks for welcoming us to the neighborhood.

I work in the area and have tried most burrito joints within a 4 block walk. I usually look for the following things from a taqueria: — good quality meat(minimal fat/gristle) — fresh ingredients — fairly priced — good salsa bar — nice staff — be consistent This place has hit them all for 5 years straight. I’ve not once had a bad burrito or an attitude from the group at El Tepa. I occasionally will venture somewhere a block or two closer for a burrito but always end up back at El Tepa. I wouldn’t say it’s definitely my most favorite burrito in town as there are some really good burritos(Taqueria Cancun, Pancho Villa) but it’s not far off, and the place feels a little more clean and comfortable.

A very mediocre super burrito. Don’t go out of your way for this one, or, if this is close, make the trek out to some of the better tasting places.

Out of the three Taqueria spots ive been to in the immediate area. Taboo, Flats and now El Tepa. This is exactly what i was looking for. A very balanced and price proportionate meal for the right price and definitely college friendly even in a not so college based area. Super Steak Quesadilla, oh wait a minute. Taboo doesnt have nor accomoate steak lovers when it comes to this treat… Tepa does! 2 medio liter mexican cokes and a steak Super-Q only for 14 dollars? i like… Doesnt make me run to the bathroom like a perp running from the cops… i like. What i don’t like… well nothing really… i like this place so far… Just wish their tortilla held together a little better when it comes to eating.

It’s lunchtime. You considered all your options in the wondrous district that is the Mission, and El Tepa’s delicious fish burrito, of which you had just a bite from a friend a couple days ago, calls to you. You buy it and bring it back to the office. Imagine biting into said burrito. The first bite is delicious. But there’s no fish. You keep going – burritos aren’t made evenly – but after consuming 1⁄3 of the burrito, your hope of fish waning with each bite, you realize: this is a vegetarian burrito. There is broccoli, red bell pepper, and zucchini, but no fish. Not that there is anything wrong with vegetarian burritos, but you thought you were getting fish, dammit. You are devastated and your hopes of getting protein dashed. This is a true story. You will still go back to El Tepa, because their food is good, prices are right, and tables clean and oft-wiped. Also because you work like a block away. But let all who hear this tale be warned: enunciate when you order. Do not be quiet, because they might not repeat your order back to you before springing into action and making you a vegetarian burrito that you most certainly did not ask for.

Okay, this place is the tits. I usually don’t use those words, but this place had everything going for it. No line for food. Clean restrooms. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. And amazing food. I got the relleno which came with chips, beans, refried beans, three tortillas, tomatoes and lettuce. Left there full and happy. Tried everything on the salsa bar too. Bam! Go there.
