Last Thursday, we decided to venture out on the Divisadero Art Walk. It’s held every 3 months and many local artists, bars and other establishments on Divis participated. Starting around 8:00 p.m., it didn’t look like too many people were heading out but it finally started to pick up and off we went. There were many artists showcasing their work on the sidewalk, prices ranging from $ 100 to $ 1000. I was pretty surprised with how much they were asking for some pieces! Great work, nonetheless. I especially loved a lot of the jewelry vendors that I saw — too bad I didn’t have any cash on me to buy some of their pretty pieces! In addition to the art, there were tons of bars along Divis that were doing special prices on drinks and even offering some food. Definitely something to check out if you are in the area when the art walk rolls around!

Can’t wait for the next one on Thursday, June 4th!!! This event only happens every 3 months and this one will be the biggest yet… Over 30 businesses open their doors late and host art shows, offer food/drink specials and other discounts for people that cruise Divis that night. Participating business have fliers with a map on it so you can scout out what places to visit, since 34 is a lot to try to see in one night. SOMUCHFUN!

Came here last night to experience some amazing local art work from the Bay Area. With over 20 Sponsors in food, drinks and entertainment, nothing could possibly go wrong. The Mini Bar was amazing, not my place, the establishment.

The Divisadero Art Walk is a quarterly event put on by the Divisadero Merchant’s Association. It starts at Ellis & Divis and goes down to Haight and Divis. Each participating restaurant, bar and store showcases pieces from local artists in the Western Addition, Nopa and Alamo Square areas. Also, they offer a lot of specials for the evening like happy hour all night or preset menus. This is quickly turning into a hit not only for the artists but for the businesses too, as it is the busiest night in the neighborhood each quarter. The crowd is a lot of locals and a lot of artists. Totally not a rambunctious party crowd(which is good) but people are definitely having a good time. The prices on the art range from $ 100 to $ 1000 so there’s really something for every budget.
