I’ve been learning guitar from Derek for the past few months. Within the first few weeks I was able to play simple songs using just a handful of simple, open chords. And now, a few months I’ve learned to play barre chords and even started playing my own solos!
It is clear that Derek is very passionate about music. He is extremely talented, has written some incredible songs and has performed in venues all over the city. Being a performer, he really understands how to make music and how to get you playing on your own with confidence and independence. He gives just enough homework so that it manageable even if you have a busy schedule, and he is patient and very generous with his time. He makes himself available for questions via email/​google hangouts, which has been super helpful.
His rates are very reasonable too. I highly recommend him!
