Spot on. Used to come here a bunch while going to school downtown. Revisited this old nook yesterday. It warms my heart to report the quality of food is still first-rate. Staff is nice, food is tasty, space is clean. There really is something here for everybody. Lots of delicious baked goods, hearty coffee, and healthy stuff, too. Would love to give all five stars but wish for the price paid they would supply more organic options. If you’ve never been here before and you’re looking for specific items call ahead. They serve breakfast from 7−10ish and don’t start bringing lunch and evening foods out until later.

Stopped in for lunch today and spent $ 19 on a smallish plate of food that included a slice of meatloaf, a spoonful of beef/potato stew, steamed broccoli and beet salad. I guess at $ 10.95/lb, everything I selected was pretty weighty? Overpriced and overly salty(beef cheeks/potatoes) or sugary(meatloaf). Well, now I know.

They have two sections: the cold bar and the hot bar which isn’t so hot. The temp on the lighting needs to be a bit warmer. Overall, food is fairly cheap(10.95/pound) and filling. Other people say theyre here for the salad? Idk, it’s regular to me. I came for the meatloaf, spanish rice, bbq pork, and chicken.

This place has been a family favorite for years. My aunt showed me that not only are they the best bakery in SF, but they also have a Groupon!

Delessio’s customer service is awesome! I talked to Leigh and she was responsive and incredibly helpful with selecting the right cake for a birthday celebration I was planning. My girlfriend ordered a cake from there previously so I know it’s going to be delicious!

There are very few times in my life where a salad impresses me so much that I have to take a photo and wrote a review on Unilocal. The salad bar was serve-yourself style, and they weigh it for you at the counter. The price is $ 10 and some change/pound. The beet salad was fresh and was tossed with apple cider vinegar(I love how the ingredients for each salad option is listed above the respective offering), the heirloom tomatoes were delicious, and the variety of non-boring salad options was great. There was a cute outdoor sitting area to boot. The only downsides was that the water carafe was room temperature and not iced. I would highly recommend for lunch or for a baked good, and I will be coming back.

I strolled in for my 16oz Luke Warm Latte, hand the cashier a 20 and my points card, and she smiles and said it was free! What a great start for the morning! The Delessio coffee card is actually the only point card I have left. I think you get a free drink with 10 purchases. I guess I hit the freebie fast since I pick up coffee for my office buddy. I love that they didn’t limit the freebie to a regular cup. When I want a latte, I NEED a latte.

Needing some caffeine and sugar on my way to a meeting in the tenderloin, I stopped in at Delassio right as they opened. In almost every regard this café is average of worse, however, as the top highlight states, they have one item that makes it worth the trip here. That is the rabanada, which is basically a very fried, sugary French toast. This pastry is surprisingly soft and almost creamy on the inside, yet crispy and crunchy on the outside. It is also very transportable and I foresee myself getting this frequently when I’m in the area. Overall, skip everything else this place has to offer. Get the French toast and maybe some coffee and you are good to go. «I’m a fan.»

I keep hoping the coffee gets at least mediocre or decent each time I come here, but no. Mocha has failed me. Cappuccino was gross and not to mention my milk was burned. Plain coffee tastes watered down. Keep on walkin, there’s at least BB in Hayes Valley.

Ok my fellow foodies. Get ready to be carried away to a mystical land filled with flour, sugar, vanilla, possibly adult diabetes and healthy food as far as the bar can stretch. NOTE(Any person that puts a negative review of this place… is most likely that over-priveledged tech-bro douchebag that is used to having his ass wiped for him. Or there are those who put negative reviews for everything… b/c apparently their taste pallet only goes to asshole.) Don’t mind the negative reviews… none of their friends like them either. With that said… let’s get on to the actual review. I stumbled upon this place 3 years ago when I moved here as I was in need of new art supplies and FLAX is right next door. I walked in not knowing what I was hungry for and then soon saw it… the whole entire bar is what I wanted. If you’re a sweets person, they have a rainbow of pastries and goodies that will most likely end up on your stomach, thighs or those handles everyone loves. Then your significant other can ridicule you until you take your fat ass to Equinox, Bay Club, L.A. Fitness, Fitness S.F. …but most likely you’ll just go drown your sorrows in a bottle of wine at Dolores Park. Now I have eaten here possibly hundreds of times in the past 3 years and it is hit n miss. Sometimes the food is über fresh and hot and sometimes bland and a little cold. With that being said, hey. it’s a food bar… the heat lamps can only do so much… give them a break. Don’t be a dick b/c of inanimate objects. It’s not their fault they didn’t keep your food blazing hot so it burns the roof of your mouth when you eat it. The staff usually is friendly and courteous. For those complaining about the staff not be polite or whatever the fuck you butthurts are used to… get real… they probably are making minimum wage in this ridiculously stupid expensive city… you get what you pay for. Don’t walk in with your nose turned up, thinking you’ll get service like at «The House of Prime Rib». The food is pretty much legit. Mac n cheese… mmm…teriyaki chicken is bomb… meatloaf…rice…salad bar… mmm. So basically what I’m saying is… if you’re not a staunch kunt… go here… you’ll be in for a treat. If you’re an asshat… please take your ass down to the Embarcadero and Eat at any one of the fine tourist trap establishments, such as Waterbar, Epic Roasthouse or Chaya.

The rabanade aka Brazilian French toast is so damn good, get it trust me. I didn’t try it until I ran off up the street which is a good thing because I probably would’ve bought 20 more of those suckers they were so damn good! It’s basically sweet baguette that’s dipped in some sort of sweet milk, then deep-fried and rolled in cinnamon and sugar. I ate it cold and it was absolute heaven. I also took home a morning bun and a gluten-free chocolate peanut butter cookie both were fcking amazing! Good god this place has bomb pastries I can only imagine the other stuff. The morning bun I heated in the toaster oven, it’s got some sort of cheesy herb mixture inside and it’s like a flaky super buttery croissant. I can’t tell you how awesome it is. I inhaled the cookie in a flash it was so good! Just say yes to all 3 of those items!

I like the way that you choose whatever you want(entrée and meal together) and at the end, you pay the weight of your dish. I took some different things. The fish is unbelievably well cooked, so tasty. The mixed of vegetables are also very flavorful. $ 11 tax included for what I picked up(cf. photo). They also have an high score with the food safety(96) which is pretty reassuring.

parking? around the corner if you’re lucky. Nothing in front its on Market Street and its a busy traffic area with cars headed towards the freeway. let me say. YUM! I love their baked goods. Absolutely AMAZING Brownies, Blondies, Scones, mini bite brownies. YUM! There are other things but i’m hooked on those things and they’re good and decent priced. Its NOT5 dollars for a Big Brownie covered in powdered sugar. This price which i forgot I THINK its 2.95LOL. Sorry, its still worth it. I really love their grilled turkey and cranberry panini. My mom tried it and loved it also. They have a per pound entrée and salad area. I decided to try their ribs, EXCELLENT!!! Soo good, if i was rich, i would have just bought all of the ribs they had. They had meatloaf. SAMETHING! AWESOME! What else? Macaroni and Cheese!!! okay, well, this part is a bit more pricey and you cannot pig out and just buy a lot because your meal will jump up over 20 dollars if you like to eat a lot.

I’ve been a semi regular here because it’s close to where I work and they have my favorite Brazilian dessert: rabanada. Worth coming in to get that and coffee and sit outside if you’re in the hood mid morning. Cool people watching. They emphasize lots of vegetarian and healthy options, but also have good pork ribs. It’s a buffet, a la whole foods, but the problem is it’s sometimes on the cool side. The last few times I’ve come in have felt a little«meh.» The young blond girl behind the counter was burning someone’s sandwich while she proceeded to give me generic service without a smile. I am so sick of this blah attitude in San Francisco. Really, for the price of food here, we can’t hire someone more desperate than that for a job who can crack a smile? She rushed me a bit and just kept telling me my total, rather than asking if I wanted anything else. I ended up with five items, was going to buy six, but felt like I had to force her to let me spend more money. She realizes the other guy’s sandwich is burning, while her boss, maybe the owner, appears unaware that she’s spending most if the time I’m writing this review on her own cell phone behind the counter. This is exactly the type of employee that rubs me the wrong way: lazy, wasting her boss’s time, and unhelpful. Unfortunately, over the past few times, instead of inviting friends there or chilling out between appointments, I start to notice I’m just staring at dirty tables and disorganized clutter, rather than the healthy hole-in-the-wall place I found years ago. It just feels like that San Francisco place now: 2-star food with attitude, if anyone knows of a place where the staff looks like I’m doing them a favor by coming in instead of the other way around gets my business…

I ordered a large iced latte. Instead of putting it in a plastic cup like every other coffee shop I have ever been to, they put it in a regular large coffee cup — so I paid for a large latte and received half a large latte, and half a cup of ice. Not impressed. It was 1115am, all the food was out on the buffet tables, nothing was labeled. No oil and vinegar on the salad bar. Filled up a box with strictly salad bar items as I didn’t know what the hot food was. I took mainly fruit salad, cucumbers, lettuce and some garbanzo beans… at $ 9.99 a pound, it came to 12 bucks. Ridiculous. Never again.

Meh. Overpriced hot food bar. Roasted pork was good. Macaroni and cheese wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Potato gratin tasted spoiled. I don’t think the hot food is kept hot enough. Similarly cold foods are not chilled enough. Bubble wrap Chocolate was NOT good. Funny aftertaste. $ 15 for a small box of food is silly. No need for this place to be so pricey.

They have a booth at Outside Lands(in the Candyland area) and I tried a chocolate macaroon. I think it was only 2 or 3 dollars and just the right size to try and not get chocolate wasted. OMG, it was so wonderful. Just as good if not better than the ones in Europe! I complimented the chef who was there, are really nice guy that we talked to for a bit. He was telling us to visit the store and try other things. We will certainly do that next time we’re in the city!
