What a cute little place this was. First of all, the location says everything. My hun and I were on our way back from a long and beautiful walk when hunger struck upon us and this just happened to be the closest place near. They never had this when I used to come to Crissy Fiels often, so I was eager to check them out. Organic, organic, organic. This place is all Organic for sure, which is always a plus in my book(if it tastes good however) They had a very appealing selection of Salads and sandwiches to choose from. We went to the register and asked our questions to the friendly gentleman helping us. He actually let me sample the beat soup that sounded appealing though, unfortunately tasted quite bland and flavorless so, it was definitely a pass. I ended up ordering the tuna salad with some sort of vinagrette which was average good but nothing to rave about other then its fresh and organic. My hun ordered a turkey sanwhich, which he said was good. The prices were not that bad as well. Overall, location is for sure the best thing for this café and it certainly if for convience. The food was just ok but great that it was so fresh and organic. The place was well kept and I also love how they had bins specified for recycling certain items. I would have definitely come back again on my next walk in the fields. Oh and FYI, the only bathrooms are the public ones in the park :)

The place is overpriced… a simple sandwich(no side) is $ 8-$ 9. They also forgot to make my sandwich… so I had to remind them. Pros: view, all-natural ingredients, sustainable building Cons: prices, menu variety, bang for your buck My tuna sandwich was pretty plain. I paid $ 13 for a sandwich(bread, lettuce, & tuna), chips & a can of soda. I guess you pay mainly for the ingredients, and mainly for business costs. Overall, a nice place for a healthy snack, but be ready to pay more than you should be.

I work across the street and often get sandwiches and salads here for lunch. Despite the long waits and expensive prices, I am starving by lunchtime, and there isn’t much else in the area unless I’m willing to trek over to Chestnut street. Today my «Summer Club» sandwich which was supposed to contain chicken, bacon, and avocado was completely devoid of ANY meat. No chicken or bacon! Yesterday a customer walked off with my sandwich because they were mis-labeled. And a week ago the fridge must have been broken because my speck salad was warm. The speck smelled«off» and the salad was missing the cheese it usually has on it. I miss the old location with a staff that cared. Not to mention the best thing on the menu… the curry chicken salad. I’m just not going to go back any more for anything other than a business meeting and maybe a coffee. Too many screw-ups and I’m too busy to spend another half an hour trying to return a sandwich.

This place gets the job done, but it didn’t appear to be a home run for me. There were a ton of ppl bc it’s really the only spot in that immediate area to grab some grub, and the line was pretty slow. We also had to remind the server that we had ordered a drink, and it somehow got lost in the process.

I had the veggie chili based on the Unilocal reviews, and it was great. Great view of the golden gate and nice atmosphere! Went here to work, and it was fine for a bit, but seems like more the type of place I would go after a walk in the park. All around good though :)

A great place to sit and work in the morning, but it gets chaotic; its packed with families shortly after midday. The food is decent but nothing spectacular. Vegetarians should try the chili. As others have said, awesome view.

What a nice, relaxing, charming café! Especially after a longgggg walk in the sun, next to the beach with the doggies. I was starving when I finally made my way back from a 3 mile walk. The sun was burning me and my stomach was beginning to eat itself. I was very eager to put some goodies down the hatch! I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich, complete with generous slices of avocado… big and made with fresh ingredients! It was definitely what the doctor ordered… it satisfied my hunger pronto! For $ 8+, it was a bit pricey but what can you do? At least it was tasty! They also offer a variety of smoothies and frozen yogurt… perfect for lounging next to the ocean and watching everyone go by. The outdoor area is inviting– the best seats are the lounge chairs! But anywhere you sit, you have a great view.

Toxic employee crew on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 5 to 6PM. WHOISSUPERVISINGTHESERUDEYOUNGEMPLOYEES? * Order taker disrespected the people in front of me * Tall young man prefered to clean up instead of taking customer orders * Tried to evict my service dog! Stood waiting behind 2 women who took 10 minutes to get tea & pastries. It became a huge hassle to get lids for the scalding hot tea… When they asked for a box to carry their large order(to their group on the beach) the short Asian girl would not provide one. «What about the used boxes sitting there behind you?» — «We have to recycle those». Anyone could tell she didn’t like the customers and couldn’t care less about providing a practical way to carry all those teas & expensive pastries. The 2 women were disgusted with the service they received. When I ordered my simple cup of regular coffee the young employee I’d watched for 5 minutes(cleaning up) began serving the man behind me. «What?! You let me stand here for 10 minutes and could have given me my cup of coffee – but now you serve the guy who just walked in?» This prompted the small Asian server to tell me «Dogs are not allowed in here, you know?» I have degenerative disc disease. My service dog had sat moitionless next to me for the 10 minutes of Hell(pain) I stood waiting for a simple cup of coffee while the tall young man ignored me. My electric mobility cart was parked in plain view behind me with a «disabled placard» clearly visible. The rudeness of the«No dogs allowed in here» was countered by «I have his Service Dog Registration card in my wallet, along with the letter authorizing him by my physician…» But she simply sneered at me with contempt. *** PLEASEFIND A SUPERVISORTOSTRAIGHTENOUTTHISTOXICSITUATION. My service dog and I have received wonderful, joyful service at the Academy of Sciences(café, etc.), the S.F. Zoo(cafes, etc.), the Exploritorium, and everywhere else in city we enjoy. * What the heck went wrong with the Crissy Café?! *

Here’s a link to the menu for the Beach Hut Café at the temporary Crissy Field Center: View is amazing. Drip coffee is the best in the Marina hands down. Food is average.

I randomly got the chilli… I will never get it again! when I want chilli I want some hearty goodness… this looked like minestrone soup, pretty much veggies in a deep red soup. oh and not to mention it was $ 8 for a measly little bowl! love crissy fields don’t like eating there

I’m a little sad I wasn’t one of the first to write a review of the chrissy field center café. Though it’s brand new, its now my favorite place in San Francisco. Its absolutely charming. Equater coffee(a local beanery) combined with a panoramic view of the golden gate make me feel lucky to live in the marina. Today was one of those savoy days when I couldn’t wait to try their spinach quiche special and was sure happy I did. It was certainly better than I had expected and a nice warm haven from the sprinkled air outside.

ahh. the crissy field center. okay, i might be a bit biased because I’ve been working there fo ra while, but it definitely has its ups and downs. Positives: everything is so flippin’ tasty! from their choco chip cookies to the potato salad to the tuna melt sandwiches, it is all veerrryyy satisfying. There’s a lot of space in the area– you can sit @ the main tables, in the observation area, or even outside in front on one of the stone benches. Each will provide you with a great view of the GGBridge, the Crissy Field Marsh, and the San Francisco Bay that you honestly can’t get anywhere else! Negatives: The price. It can get a bit pricey at times, upwards of $ 9 a sandwich… and that’s not including the drink or any sides. So, as you might notice, everything adds up somewhat quickly. But, the thing to remember is that all the proceeds go back to the Center’s youth programs, so everything you pay is for a good cause! Heck, it should almost be tax deductible haha. Also, at times some members of the staff can be a little… short, i guess. But not often. most of the time they are welcoming and ready to help. I would give this place a 4 if it weren’t for the fact that the proceeds from the pricey food go to support youth programs, so that little safety net, along with the crazy flavorful food earn the Crissy Café a full 5 stars.

They *have* to be kidding with these prices and food… Please say I was being punked. I was doing a Green Day event at Sports Basement and needed to grab something for lunch. Being a «captive audience», I had few options that did not require driving off the property, so I went to the Crissy Field Café. I didn’t want to spend an hour’s worth of work on lunch(sandwiches seemed to be in the $ 9 range), so I opted for the kid’s turkey and jack sandwich, which comes with juice or milk, for $ 5.50. Was told they were out of juice and I could have milk. Said I didn’t want milk, but I would take tea(which costs pennies per serving, cheaper than actual moo juice), and the woman acted like she was doing me a MAJOR favour by allowing me to substitute. Got the sandwich, which was nothing more than a slice of cheese, two very thin slices of turkey on DRYBREAD. Yup, no lettuce, tomato, not even mayo or mustard. When I asked for at least mayo, I was told that they come that way because«kids don’t like anything on their sandwiches». Really? Not the kids I know. I’m sorry, but for over $ 5, I think you people can slap a bit of plant matter and mayo without giving me any guff.

This café is a National Park Service Concession stand is surprisingly good given that it is essentially government run. I ordered an egg salad sandwich on walnut bread and it was good, but not great. I would go back. I think the best thing to do would be to bring your own food to Crissy Field, however.

Coffee was OK, but really liked the tuna sandwich, one that is touted as having no mayo, which is a rare find. Service is very friendly, good vibes all around. And a welcome spot for some eats when it was absolutely pouring outside.

I love this place! Their pastries are yummy! If you bring your own mug you get 20% off your drink(coffee and etc). I can not believe how much the café has changed after the Warming Hunt got burnt.

The vibe gets a stellar plus. The staff is very nice and now there is an increase of people because the warming hut caught fire :(but is great coffee between your morning yog/ride/take visitors to the bridge/session. Cappucinos are okay although still very wet when asked for dry, but they have great info on display and trinkets from the National Park line.(schwab, schwab, mugs and souvenirs).

Having been outside most of the morning, I looked forward to warm food. I ordered a veggie sandwich, plus a bowl of vegetarian chili, which came with bread. It totalled to ~$ 10. The chili was tasty and warm, and the sandwich was filled with vegetables(I believe there were artichokes and capers) and filling. It took about 5 minutes to get my chili, and 5 more minutes for my sandwich. I suppose that’s not bad considering that they had many other customers present.
