We originally planned to eat down the street but it was a madhouse and over an hour wait !! My friends and I were hungry this beautiful day in SF so we walked an ran into this place! Everyone who ordered enjoyed what they ate! The fresh orange carrot juice was a treat! I’d say the only thing you have to be careful of is getting a big enough table because if you order the side potatoes you might not have room because there HUGE! Man on man I’ll be back for sure !! Yum!

Not bad — not great. Come on though. A basic crêpe does not have to have onions on it, a salad and a side of potatoes does it? Apparently at Crepes on Cole it does. Consequently, all their crepes taste of onions. Yuck. As someone with an onion allergy and a love of crepes: double yuck! I do not want to have a sugar crêpe in order to not have an onion crêpe, thanks very much. Sorry, not much of a review — more of a rant.

Crepes on Cole is a jewel in a sea of tasty but non-kid-friendly restaurants in the city. It’s not huge but larger than most neighborhood eateries in the area, which definitely helps with little ones. The menu is diverse, there’s something for everyone and it’s all delicious. My only criticism is that there aren’t enough napkins on tables and the menu is so copious, it’s difficult to review everything before you start holding up the line, neither of which were worth losing a star.

I’m here at least twice a week. At least. They know me here. When the hipster assholes who stand in front of Zazie, waiting for an hour for their table, blocking the sidewalk for pedestrians and completely oblivious to anyone but themselves finally decide to grow up, or at least come to their senses, they come to CoC.(Yes, I have a grudge. But if you’ve ever seen Zazie on a weekend morning, you know what I’m talking about.) Is CoC the best food ever? No. But you go out to brunch because you’re looking for comforting food, you’re too tired to make it yourself, and you don’t want to wait 90 minutes for it. CoC is family-owned, they have options for EVERYONE, they’re friendly, not pretentious, and you get a ton of food. What’s not to like?

You’re run of the mill SF go-to diner with a menu so vast and homey that everyone can find something appeasing. Come in, order from the counter, and find a seat. The turnover of patrons is quick, so you will not have to wait long. And with spotty service, feel free to bus your own table or another table to make the dining experience better. Try the Crêpe Benedict with salad — a fun twist on a classic.

We always come here when in SF and we love it! Half moon bay, french toast or just eggs and bacon, and a decent cup of coffee!!! Give me wifi and I’d give this place a five.

Stopped in for early breakfast. Got here just when they opened and I was in a mood for basic crêpe. The menu had basic crêpe but that’s not what I had in mind. The«basic» crêpe I had in mind was under dessert crepes. :-) Tried the banana crêpe and the presentation is unremarkable. Lots of whipped cream and crêpe with banana was folded into quarters. I would have enjoyed it rolled up and a small portion of whipped cream on top. Taste decent. Remember to ask for syrup, it did not come with the crêpe. Oh, the coffee is great!!!

This place is shit. They live off of the overflow from Zazie. Overpriced. And less than mediocre. Potatoes under cooked. Wrong ingredients in my omelette. Don’t go here unless you’re desperate and lazy.

Great food here! I had the chicken pesto crêpe and it was great. My kids even liked it — with mushrooms! Crepes were also delicious! They were s little pricey at 7.95(more than in Paris), but very good!

Not sure if the idea for the look of the place is suppose to be old but they can use some new chairs and tables. The food was alright, the chicken was under seasoned. But friendly service!

This was definitely a «meh» experience. First, I don’t understand why all the crêpe places seem to use the same menu signage as Crepevine. Is that due to some group discount they got? Or were they all franchised and then spun themselves off? Or is it supposed to transplant you to Paris? Anyway … that was just a little rant unrelated to the review to get you ready for the crappy review below. Bottom line, the food wasn’t anything I would want to eat again. I’ll admit, I got the Salsa Crêpe, which probably isn’t the best option. It’s just that the people I went with seemed so content with going to the restaurant again that I thought it would be good. Anyway, the crêpe was kind of mealy, there were bits of rotten avocado(or at least it had gone black and they hadn’t bothered to cut those bits out), and a general lack of seasoning. A friend got a salad and she said it lacked any flavor. Several people got add-ons(like tofu or chicken) and they came separate from the dishes and we had to remind them. The clincher was that they got balsamic for one of the salads but forgot oil … and then kept asking if we’d like oil, but kept forgetting to bring it. Sorry, but that’s just silly service. There are so many place(including Padrecito, which is always tasty) nearby that I can be 100% sure I’ll never return here.

To be honest I don’t understand most of the bad critics for Crepes on Cole… I love this place, I usually go there for coffee and breakfast before heading to work(so conveniently located right next to MUNI!). FOOD —- My go to is their cappuccino and a side of fresh fruit. It is always very tasty and I have never been disappointed so far. SERVICE —- The waitresses are awesome. One morning I did not have enough cash on me so they told me I could just have the coffee and give them the money the day after, what a great customer service!!! Keep it up Crepes on Cole. I’ll be back and will def keep telling my friends about this place.

Totally mediocre food but you know what to expect at Crepes on Cole. There are much better places to eat in the neighborhood but their food is good enough and service is fine at the counter. Menu is the same as Squat and Gobble/Crepevine. Think chalkboard salads, soups, crepes. Lots of choices for breakfast which is served all day. If you’re in the nabe and need a solid breakfast/brunch place, this will do. Otherwise, there are much better restaurants in Cole Valley and Inner Sunset or Haight.

They were busy on a Saturday around noon, but it seemed everyone there(myself included) was overflow from the highly rated restaurant Zazie down the street, which had an astronomical line. The Bloody Mary– underwhelming! It was very thin and bland with hardly any vodka. After adding a hefty amount of tabasco it was drinkable. What a waste of $ 7. We all ordered different variations of scrambles, which were lacking flavor and overpriced. The vegetables did not taste fresh, and a friend at my table even commented it tasted«like DiGiorno pizza, and it wasn’t even delivery». The side of potatoes were extremely undercooked and unseasoned, and the toast was not even toasted, it was simply sliced bread. Also, everything on the table was nearly empty– ketchup, salt and pepper, forcing us to steal them from a neighboring table. My friend who ordered the San Francisco Benedict and iced coffee is the only one who didn’t complain about her meal, so perhaps that is the way to go if you’re eating here. I wanted to love this place, there was plenty of open seating, and the menu was large with lots of options– but sadly that’s where the positivity ends.

I used to come here and have breakfast while I did my laundry across the street. I’ve noticed that the laundromat is now closed, but this is still a fine place to eat breakfast if you’re hungry and don’t care about flowers in your food or celery dust sprinkled on top. This is like upgraded diner food, and I still come by every now and then for breakfast or lunch. The bagels are good, the eggs are good, the coffee is fine and the portions are huge. Soups and salads are also pretty good for lunch. I’ve never had a sandwich here, but imagine they’re fine. The kitchen is a little slow, but everyone who works here is nice so nobody’s gonna ruin your day. Very good value for your money… I came here a lot when I was broke. Husband and I stopped by for dessert tonight on a little nostalgia trip. We had a brown sugar crêpe. Meh. This isnt really a great place for dessert unless you’re a kid.

Ok, no lie, the following is stated on Wikipedia: «Throughout the 1980s the Haight became an epicenter for the SF Comedy Scene when a small coffee house off Haight Street called The Other Café(currently the restaurant Crepes on Cole) became a full-time comedy club helping to launch the careers of Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, and Whoopi Goldberg.» Legit link: So aside from the historical coolness factor, Crepes on Cole also has FRESHSQUEEZEDOJ. You read right. Splurge for the large OJ. I ordered a special called Crepes Benedict which was tasty, but not the best breakfast I’ve ever had. They serve tea in mini teapots, which would be just delightful if the tea inside were any good. It seems they use fresh ingredients and make everything to order, and it’s not super crowded in there like the brunch place down the street, so you’re sure to get a table on a weekday. You order at the counter, but they will bring you your food. Have to bus your own table, but you’re also faced with a tip jar at the counter instead of the standard 20%. Prices seemed typical for the area. Overall a good experience with friendly staff, and a decent alternative to the other frenzied neighborhood joints.

I just wanted something light so got the homemade granola with nonfat yogurt. A slight ripoff, but I really enjoyed it. It comes in a decent sized bowl, but I wish they had more yogurt on it. Great mix of fruits too. Their menu is so cluttered that it gave me a headache though. I’d recommend simplify it so that customers aren’t standing in decision paralysis.

Compared to other crêpe restaurants where you pay up front and grab a number, this one seemed kind of messy. The tables were pushed around with chairs not tucked in which made it hard to navigate to the cashier. Most of the table were also wobbly and as I waited for our food to arrive I saw groups do a musical chair number as they tried different tables to test the stability. Dirty tables out numbered the clean ones which really limited where you were able to sit too. The Cole Valley crêpe I got said it came with pesto but when I dug into it the sauce was marinara. No biggie though… Husband’s buck wheat pancake was really dry. We probably won’t go back since people watching there ended up being a little stressful! haha

Crepes on Cole is a great place for any time in the day(although brunch is the best). I’ve been here a few dozen times because of the great food and the place is almost never crowded. All the crepes are good. The portion size is large :) and most dishes come with rosemary home fries and a large side salad. The beer and wine are limited but prices are good. My favorite crêpe is benedict crêpe. It’s a crêpe with bacon and cheese with a poached egg on top.

Went here for brunch with a friend. The crepes were good, and the atmosphere was cozy. Service was a bit slow, and so was the order, but overall it was okay. I did enjoy my crêpe, so did my friend, and coffees were the right amount of boldness and warmth to keep us happy as we chatted. If you are looking for a place to get your crêpe on, and meet someone for some good conversation on the weekend… or even heck, even during the lucky chance you have time during the weekday, this is a pretty good crêpe spot.
