Another great spot in Chinatown to buy very inexpensive and fresh fruits and vegetables. The prices are usually half of what Safeway charges. They also carry meat and seafood here, but I have never bought either from here, so can’t really review it. This place can be super crowded, and there is not too many people on the floor to help you. So you must fend for yourself.

Super crowded and hectic but one of the only places to buy fresh seaweed in the city! *Don’t except much service wise. Unfortunately, it’s a fend for yourself type of environment.

This place is a shitshow in the sense that it’s ALWAYS packed. I come here for my veggies/meats/fish. Prices are cheap… because that food is so ripe you’re wasting money if you don’t cook it that night. There’s enough tourists who come through here so speaking English is prob okay but if you can bust out your cantonese, do it. I tried busting out Mandarin and they just responded to me in broken English. Fair enough.

City super resembles a veggies/fruits peddler from the outside. a few steps inside the store, one sees a full service fresh meat counter as well as many varieties of frozen seafood stocked in frozen coolers. grabbed a medium sized pomelo(1.99) which the other stores didn’t carry.

The best groceries for the best price! Fruits, veggies, seafood, beef, everything that you can think of! The produce is fresh and the prices are super competitive! Be careful not to wear sandals of any kind, or any nice shoes in general because they will get yucky when you’re doing your shopping. Happy shopping!

If you are willing to brave crowds of pushing, shoving people for fresh produce at excellent prices, City Super is for you. In Chinatown, you know a place is good when locals are thronging to it at 8AM on a Sunday, and City Super is one of those. Here, the produce is literally being unpacked from crates throughout the day, glistening with fresh dew. It’s also nearly a one-stop shop relative to the other nearby stores because it has a sizeable selection of produce, meat, seafood, frozen, and dry goods. Like all Chinese supermarkets, the produce is delivered fresh daily, so come early to get the best before it’s been picked through. It’s also slightly less grimy and a tad less crowded. The day I was there, the value just couldn’t be beat: — All grapes, red, green, or purple = $ 1.39/lb — Gigantic Fuji apples = $ 0.79/lb — Tomatoes = $ 0.45/lb — Cilantro = $ 0.50/bunch — Ripe papaya = 2/$ 5
