San Francisco is always surprising me with its hidden gems. Even after living here for years and years there’s always something that’s always been right here but unnoticed by moi. The Citigroup Center Atrium isn’t a big secret. There were lots of people there when I went by but for some reason it was new to me. I guess I just don’t pass by this corner that often. From — «The former Paris-London Bank building was built in 1912, and hollowed out to make way for public space at the base of the Citigroup Center Tower. The elegant enclosed atrium features space a crêpe stand, a fountain, seating and over a dozen queen palms.» And it’s exactly how it looks. The outside like a grand old bank building but the inside is an open air atrium(covered up top but no walls) with seating and lots of palms. Felt like I was hanging out in Tripoli instead of SF. Atrium is on the corner of Sansome and Sutter. And since it’s open air you can wheel your bike inside and sit next to it.
