When they said $ 3.49 more to make it a combo, I thought it included the drink. No it was just this fries, and its not good :(

The subs are great don’t get me wrong — it’s the pricing which I feel is a little steep for a basic sub. A small 6in veggie is 6.50 plus a drink came out to almost $ 11. There are plenty of other options around the food court that are better, in terms of price portion and quality — in my opinion

Would NOT recommend for vegetarians. Their«veggie» is almost all cheese, ton of peppers and almost no mushrooms. Pathetic sandwich for over $ 6. Go elsewhere

I have to go to class directly after I get out of work two days per week, so a lot of times I don’t come prepared with dinner and am forced to eat in the Westfield shopping center. I have gone to Charlie’s a few times because everything else in the shopping center is Asian food(there’s a vegan Asian place, a Thai place, a Korean place, three Japanese places and a panda express, so if you want extremely sweet, sugary, stirfried oily noodles, you have options galore) and all the other food vendors(except for Buckhorn) are horrible so the first time I went to Charley’s, I ordered from the cashier, her name is Mary Rose, she’s always working when I’m at Westfield, and when I presented her with my student ID card, that gets me a 10% discount at all of the mall food court restaurants, she said they don’t give a discount for students, they only give a discount for employees of the mall. So I asked her to check with the boss because SFSU tells night students to be sure to get an ID card so that they can get the crappy mall food for a little bit cheaper somce we r there at dinner time. So in front of me she asks, very unenthusiastically, her boss whether they give a student discount and her boss answers her before she can even finish the word discount and he says«yes we do, 10%» she looked embarrassed, apologized and gave us the discount. The following time, when I parented the student discount card again, she said«we don’t give student discounts, we only give a discount for employees, but I’ll just do that for you this one time.» I was about to remind her that she had verified the student discount policy in front of me the last time I was there, but just decided to leave well enough alone and just say thanks. So tonight I went back and when I went up to the counter she was standing a few feet away sweeping. She looked up at me and said«…YYEEESSS???» So I said«oh are you closed?» And she said«…no?» then just stared at me. I decided that I was done with her weird attitude and haggling over a 10% discount so I just went somewhere else. I won’t be returning. Oh but if u do go, definitely ask for no mayo. Trust. Also, I think you are supposed to order by approaching the counter and before getting any recognition you should just shout the food items you want in the general direction of the cashier. Not sure though.

The service I received was really bad They seem to be to concerned about how many people they need to serve then actually helping them . I went for my lunch break, the line was already long and the workers seem to don’t know how to go ahead and organized themselves They have 3 grill man two cashiers one yelling out the order and two prepping I worked in a fast pace restaurant so I know what busy is, they weren’t Too make it this long story short They were annoyed they has to take my order over the phone then I told them I’ll be there in 10 min(I work in the mall) And when I got there they just started my order it’s ridiculous that people put the excuse that they are to busy too provide some good customer service

Got the Italian Deluxe and a lemonade. The Italian Deluxe was a good size and tasted good. The lemonade was excellent, would recommend!

Customer service and food are always good. Tasty subs awesome fries and all served with a smile. Every time I come to San Francisco this is my spot before being a tourist. Enjoy

I’ve been here a couple times but this last time was lack luster. I ordered and received my order fairly quickly probably since no one was in front of me. I watched the sandwich maker toss a little lettuce on my sandwich and then before tossing 2 sad pieces of tomato, wipe his nose with the top of his gloved hand. That was nasty. I worked in food handling for many years so I notice these violations. My last time eating a sad little snot sub.

More like 3.5 stars, but rounding up to be nice. This is my go-to spot for food at the Westfield Mall. The subs always hit the spot. I almost always get the same thing, a chicken buffalo sub. Flavor never disappoints and the service is on point… fast, friendly, and clean. However, the actual quality of the food varies… somedays my sub is so soggy that I feel like I need a spoon to eat it. It gets so messy. But can’t have it all I guess.

Pretty sure the food I got here made me sick. I got an order of ultimate fries and now feel queasy and nauseous. No Bueno. Pass.

OMG, this place is soo good! I ate here for the first time Jan 1st, and have been back many times. There sandwiches are fairly priced and are good quantity. There menu is simple but if your craving a good sandwich and fries, this place wont disappoint. The bacon 3 cheese steak is really good. Also, there lemonade is amazing. Definitely check them out.

After trying pretty much everything else at the Westfield Food Court, I finally got around to trying Charley’s. I really appreciate a good cheesesteak, and I thought that Charley’s might offer a fancy cheesesteak since everything else at the food court is fancy and expensive. Sadly, I was wrong. On the bright side, while it wasn’t fancy, it wasn’t expensive either. The service was very fast. I waited about 3 minutes from the time I got in line to the time I had my cheesesteak in hand. Unfortunately, the meat was dry and bland, and the filling was very skimpy. The cheesesteak was served open faced, which is really strange for a cheesesteak, and the cheese was not spread evenly — it was mostly in the center, as if they just scooped it over the roll. The bread was nothing special — just a plain soft white roll, not at all like a proper Amoroso roll used at proper Philly cheesesteak shops. That being said, the cheesesteak tasted OK, but I doubt I’d ever eat here again. Next time I feel like having a cheesesteak, I’ll head over to the Cheesesteak Shop on Divisadero or Buster’s in North Beach

Wasn’t too excited about the Philly cheese steak. The flavor is bland. They put lettuce on it even though I asked for no lettuce. Who the hell puts lettuce on a Philly anyway? It’s super crowded too.

The food is just not that great. I had a small California Chicken, which comes with chicken, ranch sauce, lettuce and tomato, and the ultimate fries(with cheese sauce, bacon and ranch). Neither were very good. Next time I will try something else.

Rude workers! I was trying to decide what I wanted with my friend and someone from the back was telling the cashier to stop taking our order right in front of us, in a very rude tone. The cashier didn’t even know how to respond to him. Unacceptable.

I enjoyed my Philly cheese steak, and fries. But I think the best part was the peach lemonade. It had REAL diced peaches at the bottom. Delicious. The food is good enough, but not great. But this is a chain, so you shouldn’t expect high-end fact dining. But it gets the job done, and relatively cheap. Boom!

I have been going to Charleys for years, as they are common on most Air Force food courts. However I had been avoiding them and most chain eateries in SF. Decided to give Charleys a try couple of weeks ago – BAM so good. Super Delicious figure it may be a fluke so I have been back twice since each time just confirmed the flavor and taste. Philly Cheese extra meat, bacon cheddar fries have been flawless each time. Now we all know chains can be hit or miss, but this ones a hit.

better than subway for sure but I am not sure this is a go to for me. No real complaints per say but nothing spectacular. I dont eat sandwiches or subs frequently so when I do I want a great one. Though there is no reason not to eat this food. The fries were crispy and good.

Given the poor reviews already here, I feel like I should come here a couple more times before reviewing, but I won’t. This place is so goooood! Try the chicken California. This is the one they hand out as samples all the time so it must be what they think is best. All it is is chicken, provolone, ranch and lettuce and tomatoes, if you want. Nothing special at all, but some how this sandwich is amazing. It must be their bread and the ranch. Probably the ranch. That being said, a small(5″?) sub is a whopping 440 calories. I wasn’t even aware there was such thing as an unhealthy chicken sandwich.

Charley’s is located in the back corner of the downstairs food court of WestField. 2 shops down from Soup Company and Loving Hut. They also give free samples of their subs. How can you miss free samples? ;) Wait time is about 15 – 20 minutes. Don’t know why it takes so long. I normally get the Combo because it comes with fries. Around $ 6.51 tax included. The 2 subs I’ve had were pretty good. I’ve had the Chicken Cheesesteak and Chicken California. Honestly, they taste about the same but I really liked it. It’s flavorful but a little on the salty side. Chicken meat isn’t dry. Hint of cheese. I LOVE Charley’s Fries. Only because of the seasoning they provide on the side that you can sprinkle. I seriously COAT my fries under that seasoning. So bad but so good. I’ve also tried the Ultimate Fries(which consists of fries, ranch, bacon pieces, cheddar). It was… decent. Though the cheddar had a weird taste, not cheesy or nacho like. Nothing special. I would save my money and just go for the regular fries and top it with the seasoning.
