I needed(and still do) to get at least one wisdom tooth out. So since I have been going to a dentist in this office I decided why not get the convince of in house oral surgeon and get this thing done. First, they schedule a consultation(which isn’t covered by insurance apparently — $ 100). Since I have come to this office from a different office(the only reason I switched is to be in-network with my insurance. The other office was actually a lot nicer), I brought the full set of x-rays they did for me at the other office. Dr. Park claimed that these won’t work, and kept insisting I do another set of x-rays. Saying: «oh don’t worry, radiation isn’t anything(even though I just had the others done few weeks ago), and don’t worry insurance will cover it». Here is my mistake — never trust some doctor claiming insurance will cover it since they don’t care and don’t check. Even though I really didn’t think or want to do the additional x-rays he kept insisting, and I just wanted to get it over with. So I did the additional x-rays. The whole consultation took about 5 minutes, telling me things my dentist already told me anyway. Why did I have to spend $ 100 on this I have no idea. When we talked about a date, turns out he only is available first Saturday of the month, and this wasn’t going to work for me. So I asked him if there is another surgeon I can have on a different day. And he very reluctantly said«well may be the [other guy](I for got his name now) could see you on another day» — He seemed disappointed loosing my business rather then trying to be helpful in the situation that he’s only available once a month in this office. Then couple of months later I get another bill for him! It’s for the x-rays he swore will be covered by insurance. Turns out the insurance covers that or the type of x-rays I did at the other office only once in 3 years. The insurance explained that they are pretty much the same type of x-rays(which I though looked the same even at that consultation). I really didn’t understand what couldn’t he see on the FULL x-rays I brought him(done on machines way better then the ones in his office — so he couldn’t complain quality wasn’t good). He only glanced at the rays he did at his office. I certainly am not doing my teeth with this dr. He cares more about billed procedures then the patient. I’m sure he’d pile on all sort of charges I can’t control while I’m under the knife.
