Cello Street Quartet

I first had the chance to hear these guys at a rowdy party at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club. One of the club members was being honored as Man of the Year, and he asked for the Cello Street Quartet to be the entertainment. Bad idea, but a lot of good came out of it.
It was a bad idea because of the aforementioned rowdiness of the party, and the truly amazing talent that was being drown out by all the ambient noise in the room. I moved my chair closer to the group just to hear them better, and was almost brought to tears by their talent (not a good idea in a men’s club, by the way).
After their set, I took them upstairs to the club bar (which was empty) fed them dinner and plied them with alcohol. Besides being talented musicians, they were nice guys with whom it was a pleasure to shoot the shit.
Since then, I have hired them on five separate occasions, and have never been disappointed. They play everything from Schubert’s «Ave Maria» to Ben E. King’s «Stand By Me» to Muse’s «Knights of Cydonia.» And the best part is that each of the members of the quartet absolutely love what they are doing. You can see it on their faces with every note they play.
My advise, hire them while you still can. These guys are going places, and I doubt that they will be as available or as cheap as they are today.

I wanted to do something unique for my birthday party and booked the group. To say they were the hit of the party was an understatement. Their repertoire is incredibly vast and their energy is infectious. Thanks for making my birthday party so memorable!

Just had the privilege to hear Cello Street Quartet in the Castro and they Rocked!!! Great musicianship, comfortable interacting with each other, the music and the listeners. AND they should do a sexy calendar — they are adorable!!!

I first listened to the Cello Street Quartet on my way to work through the Montgomery Station. They were so enthusiastic and the music was delightful. They were playing Vivaldi and enjoying themselves. I picked up a card and left a a dollar. When my birthday came near I decided to ask them to play for the party, my seventieth. They were on time, set up comfortably and entertained my guests with gusto! My friends are still talking about them. They are truly gifted musicians and lovely, warm people.

Had the pleasure of being in the right place at the right time on Sunday, and got to hear a bit of the Cello Street Quartet’s set in Patricia’s Green. They had beautiful arrangements of Coldplay, Beatles, Guns N Roses, and, of course, Dexys Midnight Runners (Come On Eileen).
I’m trying to come up with an event I can use this group for! I could have listened to them all day!

Matthew and Andres and the quartet played the ceremony and cocktail hour music for my wedding. They arranged a specific song for my walk down the aisle and brought my father to tears. All of our guests remarked on their talent and fantastic variety. I would like to give them 100 stars!

Unbelievably beautiful music! I stumbled across them playing in front of Cliff’s variety in the Castro + was blown away by their talent!
