This place remains a nice neighborhood pub with a rotating selection of(mainly) California beers. I really enjoy trying out what’s new, and I appreciate the broad palette the biermeister works from. Whether you like blond ales, IPAs, hefeweizens, darks, or browns, you’ll find it. There’s also wine and some(pricey) bottled ales from Belgium. It can get noisy and crowded, so if you want to hang out and talk with friends, come early. The bar menu seems to have gotten smaller and pricier — really just snacks. You can get an incredible meal up the street at Holy Kitchen for about what you’ll pay here for a beer and snack. So, drink here, but eat at one of the other many good restaurants in the area(Holy Kitchen, Little Chihuahua, Novy, Contigo, Fresca, Fattoush, or the pub owner’s own Hamlet) — unless you really want just a snack.

Nice neighborhood bar with tasty draft beers. I experienced the staff to be unpleasant and rude. I will try again another day.

Neighborhood gem of a watering hole where you’ll feel classy and sophisticated SF-style. So come as you are with a few friends and drink merrily. Try something on tap, I’ve tried them all! Best for groups of four or less, as tables may be hard to come by.

This is a cozy neighborhood spot to grab a good beer or a glass of wine with a friend on a weeknight. Short, focused wine and beer list, with some tasty bites out of the kitchen(my favorites are the porter braised beef and porchetta sandwiches, and the lamb sirloin«pincho»). Bar staff(including the owner, who is often behind the bar) is super friendly. Also, definitely recommend as an option to grab a drink if you’re on the wait list for a table at Saru across the street.

The staff are not terribly friendly but, the wine and atmosphere are great! Such a convenient location and fairly easy to squeeze into a spot at the bar after work. Also, get the pretzel bite appetizer! Yum!

Great little bar in Noe Valley. My group and I came here while waiting for a table at Saru sushi and found friendly staff, good service, and good food and drink. They have a good atmosphere and a small but decent tap list. The soft pretzels with beer cheese were also really good.

Great selection of beer and good food. Be aware that the food is really small plates. Like. small. They’re shareable but be ready to get a lot of plates to feed everyone. The salads were especially small. Cute and cozy, on 24th St in Noe so it’s close to a lot.

Having been here a couple of times now, I can confidently give this place five stars. The rotation of beers is consistently excellent and the food, although small and not cheap, is excellent bar fare. The chicken meatball sandwich is my favorite. The bartender(and I’m guessing owner?) does a great job of creating a familiar, locals only vibe that somehow doesn’t seem to exclude first time patrons in any way. Very Sam Malone my friend, keep up the good work.

Stopped in on a Friday night and found a spot at the bar… Nice crowd. They have several beers and wines… Decent craft selection, not large, not small … We didn’t try any food… The beers were a little pricey. Over all, solid. We will go back

4.5 Stars A very charming neighborhood bar serving up a great variety of draft beer offerings and wine selection Atmosphere is warm and a great spot for dates but privacy is limited Pretzels were a solid snack Variety of beers were really unique and truly a diverse offering Overall Thoughts If I lived in the area this would be my local go to bar

So my initial comments were when the place had just opened and was going through the regular growing pains that new businesses do. Since writing the post, Caskhouse has become my «go to» neighborhood bar. The food is wonderful and the staff is extremely attentive. I really like how the place rotates through different local artists work, which keeps the place always looking new. Finally, it’s the only place in Noe Valley to get a good glass of wine and champagne. A great place

Relaxed setting for mid day drinks. The music was soft enough that we could easily hear one another. The 3B rose was tasty, the free agent pale ale was not. Would return if in the neighborhood to try something different and maybe order some of their small plates. Friendly bartender.

Wandered in on a Saturday night with a small group, sorta hungry, sorta not. Bottle of unusual wine from the Canary Islands was good, like a very dry peach. Cauliflower was outstanding, and meatballs were okay, really salty. We saw someone eating a sandwich and house made chips, and they let us order it even though the kitchen had just closed. That was awesome, and made the beef sliders, pickled veggies and potato chips taste even better. A nice casual spot, though be warned the lighting will Make everyone look a bit haggard!

One of the best wine places around Noe Valley and mission districts. Food choices are nice, but not big. Mature urban upscale 30+ crowd. I like it!

This is a nice place to relax and catch up with a close friend over a pint of beer or glass of wine and some delicious food. As a vegetarian, I love their house chips, soft pretzel, and sautéed greens. Taking off a star because they don’t offer a vegetarian sandwich(c’mon, I know your awesome chefs could whip up a fun & delicious portabella or roasted veggie somethin’ somethin’). My meat eating bf likes their BBQ pork belly and porter braised beef sandwich. It’s generally pretty busy, but I think it’s worth the wait if a table isn’t available when you first arrive. It’s a good escape from all the babies and strollers that normally take up most of Noe Valley. And, the servers are nice and friendly. Wish they had a happy hour!!!

Caskhouse surprised me! I didn’t think it was going to be bad, but I certainly wasn’t expecting anything spectacular. They have a very nice wine and beer list. I went with an Almanac Sour, I can’t help myself they’re just fantastic. Shared the sauteed greens, the bbq pork belly skewer, and the pork tenderloin skewer with my husband. This is the part that wowed me, I was full at the end. I expected little dainty bites but these dishes are filling and delicious. The pork belly was just the right amount of sweet and it came with caramelized onions and pineapple. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked, perfectly. I ‘m talking lightly pink, not dry, and super delicious and spicy. Both skewers are served with house made chips and pickles. I’d buy the pickles alone honestly they were that good. I left a very satisfied customer, and cannot wait to go back.

Solid selection of beer, place isn’t too big so seating is quite limited so you’ll have to stalk someone’s table or share a larger table with another party usually. My friends and I got lucky with a table of 4 leaving right as we arrived so we snatched it. For food, my friends and I shared the pretzel bites with warm beer cheese sauce which was super delicious yet super light. I also got the chicken meatball sandwich, which was definitely the best choice out of all the sandwiches ordered. The chicken meatballs were super flavorful and it was nicely paired with arugula and a bacon jam that complemented it nicely. Service was great too! Water glasses were always filled and the servers are a lot of fun and always smiling :)

I don’t understand how some people would leave this place 3 or even 2 stars. Whoever said«limited wines and beers» well hello its not your average bar where you get vodka and coke. This place has total different vibe than a «bar» yes it’s limited because they get different types of beer and wine so often and it’s expensive because it’s something you don’t find at a regular bar. And 6, 8 bucks per beer? So worth it. Owner is a goof ball you can’t hate. Haven’t you seen their sign that says«good people drink good beer»? Obviously some of these people don’t know what good beer is. Go get your beer at BJ’s or something.

Omg delicious pretzels: p I had the El Segundo Pale Ale draft to go with the pretzels and that was beautiful. Orange and citrus notes in a soft pale ale mmmmm. John — one of the owners I suppose, is super nice and friendly too.
