My girlfriend and I were craving some crawfish and this place did not disappoint. We ordered 1 lb of mussels, 1lb of crawfish, 2 bowls of rice and some french fries and the order came to about $ 40. The wait staff was nice and the food was delicious. One critique could be that the ambiance could be a little more crawfish like and cajun like but other than that great place!

After 2 years being MIA, this place is still great. They no longer have the Groupon but who cares. Garlic noodles were al dente and delicious. Shrimp tasted very fresh too! I liked the cajun flavor more than the garlic butter. Spicy or get out lol. YAY

I came here with my boyfriend the other night and it wasn’t busy. We ordered 2lbs of their shrimp, cajun fries and wings. The food was pretty good, however, the water I got tasted like acid. We informed the waitress, who apologized & offered complimentary drinks. I don’t know exactly what that«water» was but make sure the water you get it good. Overall, the service and food is good.

Cajun House is outstanding!!! It’s a little hole in the wall place, nothing fancy about it. But all the food is amazing. I had the medium spicy shrimp with corn on the cob, medium spicy garlic crab, and mussels. Ordering the Mussels was basically like ordering garlic with a side of mussels. Totally fine with that, you can never have too much garlic!!! The crab was also very good. We ordered a side of bread to sop up some of the sauces from the seafood. The sauce from the shrimp was so good I could literally have just ordered a bowl of that.

I came here recently and one other time when they first opened, I didn’t actually remember much about the first time but now I can safely say that it was okay. My friend and I came here and we ordered family style, we got 2 lbs of shrimp, 1lb of clams and garlic noodles. The shrimp and clams we got in house Cajun, even though it was medium spicy it didn’t feel too spicy, I did like the flavor of the sauce but sometimes I felt like there was a bit too much garlic. Overall, decent and fulfills a boiling crab craving. The garlic noodles were also okay, I actually didn’t taste much garlic taste to it, I did taste the Parmesan cheese. as a filler putting the house Cajun sauce on top of the garlic noodles was great and tasted way better than regular garlic noodles. Overall, a decent place to come to if you don’t want to drive down to San Jose for boiling crab. It does the job and the house Cajun sauce is decent! I would definitely come back here again in the future. Total for 2: $ 55

My friend and I dined here on a Thursday around 4:30pm for a belated bday dinner. I suggested this place because I had always wanted to try it and my dad had been here a couple of times and said their food was good. There was only one other person dining when we walked in. We were seated promptly and given the menus and some water. My friend had been here in the past when they first opened and hadn’t been since. So, I trusted her opinion on what we should order. We decided on 2 lbs of medium spicy house Cajun shrimp, 1 lb of medium spicy house Cajun clams, and garlic noodles. The clams were the first to arrive at the table. The clams were a decent size, but I would have to say that you get more for your money sticking with the shrimp. The Cajun house sauce was very good and you really could taste the spiciness. The shrimp was great! I could probably eat the whole 2 lbs on my own! I’ve never had Boiling Crab, so I can’t compare. But, I would definitely say that the shrimp was totally worth it and was enough for 2 people. The garlic noodles were very tasty and paired really well with the sauce. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience here. The food is fantastic, nice customer service, and a good place to visit if you’re craving Cajun seafood. I would gladly come back again without a doubt!

When it comes down to Cajun restaurants, it’s all about the SAUCE! The first time I came to Cajun House I would’ve rated it 3 stars for their House Cajun sauce/medium. But when I came for the second time I chose«explosive»(the spiciest level) and somehow it became a million times better! We also ordered Cajun fries, calamari, chicken wings, and oysters as appetizers. The deep fried food was cooked perfectly and you can tell the oysters were fresh. My only complaint about the food is that the shrimp and crawfish are a litter harder to peel than the ones at other Cajun restaurants. Can’t tell if it’s because of the quality of the seafood or how they cook it. Everything still tasted good anyway. The staff here is experienced and very friendly. They brought everything out super fast. If you love Cajun food you should definitely check this place out!

So this is the 3rd seafood place I have ever been to, and I do have a favorite place however it is pretty far from SF, so I decided to try this place out on my birthday! Luckily it was a Thursday evening and it wasn’t busy at all.(score!!) My wife is so not a seafood lover so I had to make sure they had alternative choices and they did. She ordered the Cajun Wings not spicy, Cajun fries, corn and I ordered the Alaskan king crab legs Cajun house medium flavor and sausage. Now… The reason I’m rating 4 stars is because the food was sooooo delicious! I was very very happy with the flavors and I’m most likely coming back, However they did mess up on our order a couple times like when we ordered Cajun fries they brought us regular fries and the wings weren’t Cajun either so we sent them back and the got it right the second time. Very sweet servers totally apologetic for the mess up. Towards the end of the meal the server brought us sherbet as a little birthday dessert.

There is nothing like getting your seafood in a bucket! Spicy as you want, or garlicky. My husband and I have gone here twice. We loved it both times! The service was great, and the food was amazing! We left the Cajun House two times, and many more times to come, full and happy.

I might actually prefer this restaurant over Boiling Crab because of its delicious garlic noodles! It was so addicting! My friend and I also ordered a pound of shrimps with the Cajun house sauce — comparable to boiling crab’s sauce. It was actually less oily and the shrimps were better quality in my opinion. My friend enjoyed the crispy calamari more than I did. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you don’t want to wait in line for boiling crab. & if you love garlic, you’d appreciate this place too.

For these types of restaurants I’ve only been to boiling crab because it was always available. But now, craving that same taste, I thought to myself hmmm how much better could boiling crab possibly be? Once you try boiling crab, nothing else can compare, especially not this one. The flavor tastes like an inferior boiling crab flavor. It’s too seafoody and too light. It’s all oil and butter but no flavor or spices. The more I ate it more I kept thinking how good boiling crab sounds right about now… We got the garlic noodles, sweet potato fries, crawfish, and shrimp(medium with Cajun sauce mixed with the butter sauce). The garlic noodles were pretty good, sweet potato fries weren’t bad, and the shrimp were pretty big in terms of size. Idk if anyone out there has tried crawfish before, but this was my first time and I did not realize there’s only like a little nugget of meat on each crawfish tail and the rest you don’t eat. What?! Overall, I don’t think I’ll be back it. I rather have boiling crab or nothing at all this place doesn’t do it justice IMO

I’ve been meaning to try this place since it first opened. Crawdads in the city? When I was a kid, we’d order them straight from a farm in Louisiana. I have fond memories of being on the living room floor on top of tons of newspapers, tearin’ off tails. My first order, however, didn’t even include any mudbugs. I order garlic noodles and manila clams, medium spicy. The garlic noodles weren’t the best I’ve had(toss up between PPQ and Crustacean), but they hit the spot. I think the difference was much less butter and chicken bouillon. The clams and their accompanying sauce were definitely delicious. That said, the key to shellfish, particularly clams and oysters, is cleanliness. Clams get gritty. And there was definite grit in my order — booooo.

Ugh this place is so good! Came back because I was hella craving shrimp! It took me forever to find parking but so glad I got a table here at 7ish before the rush started coming in! Service was great, really friendly and always came back to check on us and refilled our water. Ordered house cajun sauce in medium for shrimp, cajun fries, gator bites and French bread! Shrimp was really good and I really liked dipping the bread in the sauce! It was a good amount of spicy and not overly greasy! Gator bites had a good batter coating on them and the meat on the inside was tender. Cajun fries had a kick and were crispy! Definitely will come back again! :)

Gave this place the benefit of the doubt only to be disappointed. Right when I arrived the waitress seated my friends and I. The girl waitress was nice but as soon as she switched with the guy, he seemed annoyed. They were out of crawfish which was so disappointing. We came for the crawfish… They should have put a sign up that they didn’t have any… The customer service was very poor. The workers were inattentive! We kept raising our hands for water or something else. They should take initiative to walk around and see how the customers are doing… The food I ordered is: –Cajun medium mussel/shrimp: ehh the sauce was interesting but nothing that caught my attention! –garlic pasta: the one item on the menu that was delicious, you can taste the garlic and butter! –Cajun fries: good but not great. Wished it was a thicker cut. Overall, not amazed. Would not come back or recommend to anyone coming down south that loves boiling crab or crabhut! Stick to what you know.

Compared to boiling crab, there is no comparison. I had the oysters, Cajun fries, Cajun house seasoned white shrimp with corn and sausage, and garlic noodles The dinner started off well. The wait wasn’t too long since it was a Thursday night. Even then, I felt like the service coverage was a little laggy because checks were sitting on tables for a while before being picked up and busted. It’s also possible that they were in between lunch breaks or something. The hosts were kind and gave updates as to wait times and stuff. Either way, this didn’t affect their rating for me. What does affect their rating is their food and service. The service was great. I was feelings tad needy and kept asking for extra limes and containers I’m glad they complied and didn’t make a fuss about it. The oysters were delicious. Simple and difficult to mess up if it’s quality oysters. The Cajun fries were really good! They were a great texture! Super crunchy and crisp on the outside and cooked through inside. Only critique I have for the fries is that I wish they had different spice levels for the fries. At boiling crab, you have a choice for mild, medium and hot for the fries. It wasn’t a huge deal because the ketchup cooled down a lot of the spice. Garlic noodles. I didn’t like… It had a super sharp taste of raw garlic. I love the taste of garlic, just not raw garlic. The texture of the noodles were good… But that was the only good thing about it The Cajun house seasoning is a lot sweeter than I expected. If I had to sum it up, it was very herby. It was pretty good but I expected more of a lingering taste with garlic, lemon, butter and other spices. The shrimp were also overcooked. They were really difficult to peel. This place loses two stars for the noodles and shrimp. I don’t see myself coming back on my own will and I wouldn’t suggest it as a place for my friends and me. If I had the craving for Cajun food, I will just wait for a South Bay trip to boiling crab.
