I tried the French Vanilla frozen yogurt with blueberries and raspberries. It was both delicious and comforting. This is a nice find for when I’m craving something sweet.

Came here with a coworker that loves sweets just as much as I do and she suggested going here… I can’t believe this is frozen yogurt. It’s so rich and smooth… the chocolate is decadent and so luscious!!! The pairing of custard and chocolate is best as I can see the chocolate being too much for me. For three bucks and some change for a small, you wont regret it!!! Kind of dangerous that it’s right next to my work.

Pretty tasty frozen yogurt but nothing extraordinary. In addition, the price is very affordable. I had the cheesecake flavor and it was quite creamy and rich(took me quite awhile to finish it while I was roaming around). It’s also quite a small shop as well.

This hidden gem(literally hidden… I’m new to the area and almost missed it), is worth trying. I love frozen yogurt but also really love ice cream and the French custard here is a happy medium. So creamy, I loved it on its own – no toppings needed. I also tried the tiramisu flavor, but didn’t care for it as much. For dessert in the city, this is cheap. Especially when you consider what Pinkberry and other such yogurt places want to charge nowadays for a very small serving. I should have listened to other reviewers as I ordered a small rather than a junior. They’re served in the same cup, just the small is filled a little higher. A junior is more than enough, especially if you add toppings. The service was great. The gentleman was friendly and quick. I didn’t get toppings this time, but he informed me that dry toppings are $ 0.75 and fruit is $ 1. However, since a junior or small cup doesn’t fit much, he said if you get both a dry and fruit topping, he’d charge for one only. Also, don’t forget to get a punch card!

What a treat. Randomly stopped into Caffe Ambrosia after lunch on Kearny one day. Didn’t even know they were down the alley on Trinity but saw a sign for soft serve and glad I went it. French custard with warm brownie topping is over the top good. Definitely check them out!

I came here at 10:06am, just a little past two hours after they’ve opened. The man said we aren’t opened yet and that, «He was a little slow today.» It would be understandable if it was maybe 30mins, but two hours past opening?.. Very disappointing and unacceptable

There are a lot of Cafes in the Financial District and Café Ambrosia is a very tiny café in an alleyway(kind of). Café Ambrosia is best known for their frozen yogurt, and I can definitely understand why. There are a handful of flavors available and feel free to ask for samples before you decide on which one to get. I tried Vanilla, French Custard, Pistachio, and the regular Tart, and honestly all of them were alright except for the French Custard. The froyo here is great because it’s sooo creamy – it’s almost like ice cream. There are a couple different sizes available but I went with the Junior cup(smallest) because it’s the perfect guilt-free amount to have after lunch. Café Ambriosia offers a wide variety of toppings for your froyo. I specifically recommend Oreos or Warm Brownie!

I’m a bit gobsmacked that I have not reviewed this place before since I was a frequent visitor here many moons ago when I had fewer rings around my trunk. I believe the Magna Carta was being signed when I was here last. Eventually my job wasn’t as close to Trinity Place, and I gradually forgot about it like Hillary Clinton and her emails, and now I’m a couple of blocks away being told by my current colleagues that the owner here serves really delectable frozen yogurt. Hey, I knew that. What I didn’t know, or more likely, completely forgot, was that he makes some awesome sandwiches here like the Lightly Curried Chicken Salad for $ 5.95. In fact, he offers eight different sandwiches for the same price. He handles all this by himself as he’s a genuine trouper with a very service-oriented attitude(photo: ). The challenge is that during the peak lunch hour, the queue becomes something of a smartphone-tapping marathon. Sometimes his dressed-to-the-nines wife joins him in the tiny space. But her appearances are sporadic from my experience. Fortunately the froyo makes it all worthwhile, as it could very well be my favorite in the ‘hood. I went for the $ 3.35 small cup with half French Custard and the other half Irish Mint(photo: ). Let me do a leprecahn jig as it was magically delicious. I must have had more fortitude that day since I didn’t go for the warm brownie topping which, get this, is a real brownie that happens to be warm. T’is a fine establishment that deserves more attention than I’ve given it. FROYO — 5 stars… as good as it gets for pure creamy decadence AMBIANCE — 3 stars… it’s really a closet like Café Dolci(review: ) SERVICE — 4.5 stars… really attentive and never compromises TOTAL — 5 stars… oh what the hell, give me the brownie

Easily one of the best and cheapest frozen yogurts that I’ve ever had. Not much in terms of seating but you can easily take your cup of frozen deliciousness and sit outside. I sampled both the custard and the kona coffee and ended up getting a mix of both in a junior size. The coffee was a bit tarter than I’d expect, but went well when mixed with the custard. Even if you love frozen treats like I do, the junior for $ 2.75 is already pretty satisfying. I highly recommend adding the warm brownie topping. Totally worth it!

So YUMMY! You gotta try it! My boss thought Froyo was the best until I introduced her to Caffe Ambrosia. She said it was better after she had the Vanilla Strawberry and Brownie. I loved the tart with almonds and chocolate syrup. Thumbs way up. Plus, the store owners are really sweet too.

This place was a hidden little gem in an alleyway downtown and such a great surprise! So so yummy cannot even explain. I got the plain vanilla fro-yo with a WARMBROWNIEONTOP and Oreos. I was expecting little brownie bites when I asked for a brownie but NOPE. there was a WHOLE warm brownie on top of my ice cream. Who knew this was even a thing?! Not me. Needless to say, my dessert craving was definitely satisfied. Gave this place 4 stars only because it is really small and there isn’t anywhere to sit.

This place is killin’ it with their froyo. Main draws are 1) variety/quality of froyo flavors and toppings, 2) value for money, and 3) friendly customer service. To elaborate, Caffe Ambrosia offers nicely textured froyo that come in a several base flavors(original tart, chocolate, coffee, etc.) and they have just about every fresh fruit and dry topping you can think of. Some days you’ll also see special flavors come in, e.g. pistachio. They also offer several sizes, all which are priced in the $ 3 – 6 range, and note that the small is actually quite large. I’d say it’s a very good deal for what you’re getting, given that similar establishments in the area probably price at a 25−50% premium to what you’ll get here. Lastly the store owners are super friendly and have a knack for remembering their customers. They also add toppings in generous, heaping portions, which is super awesome. Only potential drawback is lack of seating options since it’s a storefront, but the alley in which it’s located has a breezy European feel that’s quite nice!

I want to start trending #FroyoFriday so I have another reason to indulge in sugary goodness. If you have yet to fall in love with froyo, you need to try the french custard at Caffe Ambrosia. It’s seriously addictive. The junior size is all you need and don’t forget a punch card cause it won’t be hard to rack up ten servings to fill it. I love gummy bears and anything chocolate or peanut butter. You can ask for peanut butter cups and all the toppings I’ve ordered have always been fresh. They even have a warm brownie topping that runs out sometimes because it’s so popular. Caffe Ambrosia is a little hidden, but still centrally located in SoMa and so worth the trip.

Came here today during my lunch to grab some frozen yogurt. The place is tucked away in an alley and is very small, but well kept with a few seats outside to sit on. I ordered the French vanilla frozen yogurt and some strawberries and blackberries on top. The guy that took my order was very nice and gave me a frequent buyers card too to start me off. The group was very good. Just the right amount of sweetness and cream. The sizes are quite generous too a small was more than enough for me. I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely come back again to try more combinations of flavors and toppings!

Seule critique: pas assez de choix. L’accueil y est excellent, les glaces et smoothies très bons. Plus, la localisation excentrée dans ce petit passage en fait un endroit idéal pour une petite pause au calme

Dropped off a package at USPS and saw a sign for Froyo down the alley as I walk back to work on this hot hot day. Saw a few people walk out with Froyo and had FOMO… So had to get some myself. Stood in the line and to my surprise they had original Tart which is my ultimate fave. It was soooo good. Got the junior size with mango topping for $ 3.75. It was very refreshing. Definitely going back again! Everyone at work was very jealous when I came back with my half empty cup. They do except credit cards, so that was great. Also the couple there was super sweet and friendly. Line went by super fast.

My new favorite froyo/apres dejeuner spot(but I’m trying to be good and only go once a week… even though I want it every day). The flavors are killer — esp vanilla. DELISH. And the toppings — A+. This place has fresher strawberries than whole foods. I’m in love with the warm brownie — so this is what I’ve been adding to my vanilla. Sizes are super generous and reasonably priced. Great service. I can’t say enough good things about Caffe Ambrosia! In fact… I’m probably going to grab some as soon as I’m done writing this review: P

Pretty good given that’s it’s mainly just a soft serve place. Some friends and I were looking for dessert near the office and saw that this place had some pretty good reviews, so we decided to check it out. It’s located on a small street and is actually a really tiny little place that sells soft serve ice cream, fruit smoothies, and some other random things. Obviously as you can tell from the photos, it’s really the soft serve that’s the main highlight. They have a number of pretty basic flavors. I went for the French Vanilla which was basically just a richer vanilla and topped it off with some oreos. It comes in a pretty large clear plastic cup. I found the French vanilla to be pretty tasty and really rich and creamy in flavor. But at the same time, it’s also just soft serve. sooo not really sure how much I can shed light into how amazing it is. It’s good I guess but it’s hard for soft serve to be mindblowing I guess? There were also quite a number of other good topping options from more sugary candy esque things to other fruits. I liked it enough, and would definitely consider coming back if I wanted soft serve. Unilocal also says that it’s cash only, but I noticed a visa/mastercard sticker on the counter so maybe that’s changed over time? tldr; good soft serve… but it’s still just soft serve at the end of the day. good quick dessert option if you’re in FiDi

I’m not really a «fro yo» kind of girl, but Ambrosia might be good enough to convert me. Popped in em route to the office when my lunch wasn’t quite enough. Sampled the French Custard. OMG. Really good and so good that I don’t need to try any others. Second another review that a Jr size is more than enough. Great pricing and a much better deal than the over hyped Pinkberry.

I really like this place! It’s pretty small and they have maybe 8 different flavors to choose from. The raspberry was delicious but wow. Pistachio. Wow. Best I’ve ever had. $ 2.75 for a junior size frozen yogurt and it’s really dense so you feel like it’s a steal. The fruit is really fresh too. They also have a stamp card!
