While the location was just a little hard to find, the breakfast was amazing. Bagel with lox and cream cheese; the best we’ve had in a long time. The perfect ratio of lox to cream cheese and very fresh. The egg, cheese and sausage English muffin sandwich hit the spot. Definitely worth it if you are nearby.

Seriously! Best in the city. One egg, cheese and sausage English muffin just isn’t enough. You need two. The first one will be devoured to quickly for you to really appreciate the magnitude of the loveliness you just ate! Naw relax, catch your breath take a sip of your coffee and enjoy the second English muffin! There are a few tables and chairs outside for you to sit at and the service is quick and snappy just as you’d expect from the great city of San Fran

The cheapest breakfast you’ll find on Sansome St. A hole in the wall, staffed by a sweet, cheerful lady. They open very early(6am) and offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches and beverages. Turnaround is fast and prices are on point. Think $ 5-$ 7 for breakfast including coffee. Love it.

So everyone has already talked about the good food, reasonable prices and especially the friendly service, but I have to also have to chime in just in case you are on the fence. They can be pretty busy during the morning rush but they are as fast as can be in that tiny little space. You won’t find a harder working, happier crew in the city. I always get the whole wheat bagel with egg and cheese, and the coffee is good too! It may be simple, but it is oh so satisfying. And I dare you to not smile at their cheerful greetings, it is the best way I have found to start the day off right!

Croissant, egg, two cheese, and bacon sandwich: flaky and substantial! Huge helping of pastrami, mustard, sourdough, and egg: very satisfying brunch option. So good we went back and got the lox bagel too which was also great! Tiny seating area outside but super friendly service.

It is tucked in a little corner in The Financial District. My cousin had a tour scheduled and needed a quick breakfast. This was the perfect in-and-out place; also a quaint area right in front to eat your meal. It wasn’t busy when we were there, so I’m not sure how it can get at rush hour. They have cool combos: I got the ham, cheese, egg croissant — very delicious!

This place has the best bagels in town. Great staff. Sometimes a little crowded, but always very good breakfast. Their organic coffee is great!

A cute little hidden location, which I like, so I can keep all the goodies to myself. I’ll be nice and share with my Unilocalers though. One guy takes orders, another makes the food. There are chairs and tables outside in a covered space for customers to eat. The inside is pretty small, just enough space for you to put sugar in your coffee and grab a couple napkins. There’s a TV inside, which helped the wait for my food. Bus 41 drops me off right in front. This allows me to get what I need and hop back on my commute with ease. It will be convenient since the rainy season is rolling in. By rainy season, I mean a few sprinkles, but everyone freaks out in the city. Yes, a few drops of rain on my head will kill me. I always get startled in a new location with a new menu. So I accidently asked for the sausage egg mcmuffin. The cashier laughed and said there is no mcmuffin, only muffins, in a joking way. How embarrassing… Yes, so now I’m hiding under a rock as I write this review. Anyways, this place seems legit. :) I’d be happy to come back. I wish they had hashbrowns tho.

The food was fantastic and the service was quick and efficient. The coffee is organic and extremely strong even with milk and sugar. If you are like me and like your milk with a little bit of coffee I would pass. Staff was super friendly. This gem was tucked between two buildings. Wonderfully surprised by how great it was.

Really good and inexpensive food. I had the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was surprisingly delicious for such a simple sandwich. The fact that the owners are super nice is a welcomed bonus.

Awesome place for a cheap eat in the Financial District! Had training across the street, and I only had $ 10 to spend on lunch. I bought the corned beef sandwich with egg, and it was fantastic! Large amount of tender meat, and the egg was cooked perfectly. Added chips and a drink and my meal came out to about $ 8.25. Highly recommend!

Best quick breakfast stop in FiDi so far. It was worth the walk. Staff was very friendly and my corned beef, egg, cheese, and mustard on a butter croissant was really tasty! Perfect alternative to the breakfast burrito. Thanks Unilocalers!

$ 5.17 for a breakfast croissant sandwich. You’ll pay $ 1+ at morning brew, and I was just turned off by the eggs at Il Canto which are cooked in a non microwave safe plastic to go container. Comes with 1 – 2 slices of low grade ham, I would next time get the Canadian bacon. I like the friendly service and that they take credit but the line was 10+ minutes at 9am. Crazy!

Call it 4.5 but I am rounding up because they deserve it. Charming hole in the wall(literally) but incredibly cheerful service and sincerely cheerful service at that. Bagel and lox sandwich hit the spot. Not amazing but still fresh and yummy. Iced coffee was solid, too. Lots of quick breakfast options in this area of town. Super friendly and speedy service and good food goes a long way.

Café Me is a great place for a well made sandwich or salad on the go. Very friendly service here and the food is attentively prepared. Their breakfast sandwiches are tops with everything put together fresh, on the spot and at a value few other places in the Financial District can match for te quality of selection. Fave breakfast sandwich here is the ‘Peter Sandwich”: a sandwich(wheat or white) toasted with ham, bacon, egg, tomato & cheese. For what it offers, the quality, the price & the friendly service… all within the Financial District enclave. it is an easy 4+ stars.

Time: 7:07am/55°F rain off/on Purpose: Running late for early meet up with potential client. Really didn’t want to drive today just don’t like car being rain on. I know, big deal its a car! It’s not like I have a vintage corvette or anything like that, just a modern day Audi S5 but, still that rain water. Park at a 6 wheel meter always gets me anxious and nervous as you never know when a DPT officer strolls by. Ambiance: This place is one of those hidden gems on the outer edge of the fi-di. Located underneath a building that you can enter on Sansome or Washington street. Call it a short cut if you want as you walk through it diagonally. About 2 – 3 tables out front, a wooden bench against windows and wooden all purpose stand. Sandwich ad boards on both side of the street. Windows are plaster with all kinds of brands that they carry. However you can still see through the inside of staff buzzing around. I would say place can fit 3 – 4 average size adults any more you’ll be squished. Two cold fridge one holds drinks other houses premade on the go meals and energy drinks. One 32in’ flat screen tuned to KTVU morning news. Underneath that utensil cart with DIY to go boxes. Counter with acrylic pastry box, touch screen payment, laminated menu, order pads. Staff: One lady and two guys around early 40s, possibly owners. The lady was so nice and sweet as she knows everyone by name. Not a second goes by without her not smiling. I was afraid that I may hold up the line asking her what’s this and that. So I muster up inhale/exhale then ask her what’s the special being advertised. She wasn’t mean or showing any signs of blowing up soon. Pointed to laminated menu saying here’s your choice. Quick glance I said give me the wholewheat bagel. The other two guys are non customer related so just quiet and does the cooking/prepping. Cleanliness: Grade A, clean with minimal crumbs/debris, manageable though. Eats/Drinks: Breakfast bagel egg & cheese $ 2.75. This bagel s totally worth the price. As I waited s thought wondering at the price what can it possibly be? I’m expecting a bagel like 6’in bagel thins but, I was suprise by the size and freshness. Bagel was not thin at all, it was a regular full size version with volume. Cheese and eggs was hot melted together with crack peppers. I ate half saving other half when I get in office later on. Products/Services: Coffee by Mr. Espresso, tea by Bigelow, Stash, Lipton, Kirkland, cold/hot drinks, juices, chips, salads, croissants, muffins, pastries/danishes, breakfast/lunch, premade on the go, snacks, candies, hot/cold sandwiches, owners specials Cathy/Peter. Faema espresso 2 chamber extractor. Almond milk available. For croissant sandwich add $ 1 extra. Punch Lines: Super duper can do attitude, very friendly, inviting, accurate/efficient, in/out under 5 min max, good prices/portions, kinda cramp inside, clean, limited seating, protected from the weather elements, fi-di, closes early. Nearby Transamerica, SFFD, INS, Safeway, antique/art galleries, all embarcadero buildings 1 – 4, Chinatown, North beach, Hilton, Aliotos law firm, Wells Fargo museum. Tradeoffs: A good place to grab on the go breakfast/lunch meals without frowning faces or lines of inner fi-di places. Just when you thought your morning is off to a bad start. You better come here let Cathy knock some sense into you of what being wake up and smile means. Final Thoughts: This place really suprise me and some. I can see why as people stand in line the owner already knows their name and what they want. Seems like I was the odd one out but, I’m gonna have to show up couple of more time to get notice and see if I can get hold of them as possible future client. Overall great experience from the time I place my order to the time I left. Wonder why some places are not like this? That’s easy, when owners are involved in daily operations they go beyond what workers do, they care more, no brained. It’s really a 4.5 star here!
