We stayed there a couple of weeks ago. Our room was clean and the staff was great. Would stay there again but would ask for a couple more pillows

Do not go there for the sake of your life. This review could be called«Chronicles of the SF housing crisis(episode #345)»: this morning, I got a phone call from my intern. I run a nonprofit that organizes French summer camps( ) in the Bay Area and my intern is helping us build a donors database. The manager of the hotel is throwing our intern, a 22 year student from Strasbourg France out if he does not pay in full and INCASH his $ 406 bill for a week($ 1600 for a room with no shower and no restroom). The intern has booked a room with shared showers and bathroom on the hallway on and here is the catch: when he shows up, it turns out that in contradiction with what is advertised on the website, the hotel ONLY takes CASH. «The credit card machine has been broken for a month and the owner is in Italy» yells the front desk hospitality clerk at my 22 year old intern. «you can pay in cash or you must leave». The guy would not accept a partial payment of $ 200 now and $ 200 in 24 hours(when the maximum withdrawal limit for a foreign card resets). So my husband and I show up at the hotel playing the«substitute parents». The clerk, Stephen Boyo is screaming at the top of his lungs(«this is the way I talk») at my husband. We are wondering if the guy is not going to hit us as we try to reason with him. All along he is threatening to call the police. «Please, do call the police». I wound up hailing a police car in the street that just happened to be driving by. The police officer comes in. Now the clerk is yelling at the cop. There is no way to reason with the guy and the owner is unavailable vacationing in France(it turns out the owner is French, Jean-Claude Lair). Because it’s not a criminal matter just a civil scam(credit card advertised — only cash accepted), the policeman cannot do anything except help us report the hotel to the Better Business Bureau. At the end, we had to go to the ATM and give my intern the cash to pay in full, otherwise he would have been evicted. This is happening now with no consequences for the greedy absentee owners. The hotel has about 50 rooms and each room brings $ 1600/month. What a swift business preying on students and tourists living on a shoestring! I guess it makes the scams on Airbnb look less bad. At least those owners pay taxes?!?

Simply the worst experience ever! Shared bathroom what the F! Smells bad too, all the sheets seem super dirty. Just make sure you don’t end up here, it’s horrible!

Been here twice to check it out. Both times creeped us out and it stinks like an old man that needs a bath. No thanks.

This is one of the oddest«hotel» I’ve been to. I stayed here for one week. First of all, it is NOT hotel! The room they gave me was something like a basement remodeled into a room in an apartment complex. * Cons — No bathroom in the room! The bathroom was in the hall way, but never had any soap or paper towel. Nada! — Small sink in the room that is oddly placed. You have to squeeze yourself in between night table and sink in order to stand in front of the sink. — Very noise. Seriously like construction noisy ALLDAYLONG! — No wifi connection in the room. Only in the lounge area. — No room service & no house keeping service whatsoever — Incredibly uncomfortable bed, and icky bed sheet/pillows Yuck! — When you look at the quality of this place, how much they charge is too pricey. It should be a half of what they charge. * Pros — ABSOLUTELYNOTHING!!!
