Small shop with a lot to offer! Had the firecracker sandwich and it was fantastic! Had the Italian soup too that was the only reason this isn’t a 5 star. There was no broth and the pasta was soggy. Stick with the sandwiches and you’ll be golden! Friendly service, quick and not too pricey. $ 9 for a sandwich I couldn’t finish. Found this wonderful place using Unilocal while Staying at the hotel Carlton — great place to visit.

I’ve been depending on Bite to satisfy my late night food cravings for several years now. There are so many delicious sandwich options from which to choose, but my favorite is definitely the Gobbler(with no pickles… why do people like pickles?). They have some decent salad options too, but the sandwiches are definitely the stars of the menu. And, if you have a sweet tooth, you’ll be happy to know that each order comes with a lollipop! The only reason that I can’t give this place 5 stars is that there are occasionally issues when I order ahead: sometimes my sandwich is made with pickles when I’ve explicitly asked for no pickles, sometimes the wait time wildly exceeds their estimate, and a few times I’ve showed up to find they’ve forgotten to place my order entirely. Overall though, these bad experiences represent a small minority and tend to correlate with new employees being hired; my sandwiches are usually prepared promptly and taste amazing!

Great sandwich shop with a lot of variety along with build your own option. The bread was nice and fresh and the prices very reasonable for San Francisco. Swing by and check this place out.

I wish I wrote a review for this sooner. It would’ve been a 5. The first time I had the Firecracker and it left me wanting more! Thus, why I went back a second time. This was seriously going to be our«go to» spot in the city. A health score of 100. But that can’t be. Can it? I mean… I understand that pests are almost inevitable. Especially in a big city like SF. But. I really don’t want to see two roaches running all over the menu boards. That’s the first thing a customer looks at! YIKES! Since we were already in the sandwich shop and went out of our way to get there, reluctantly, we ordered anyway. We stepped out next door to see what their chip options were and grabbed some chips there. When I went back in to see if our sandwiches were ready, I kept looking at the white walls. I kept telling myself, the sandwich station is clean, so it should be OK. Then sure enough, I saw a roach running on the wall above the refrigerator + boxes on the refrigerator. I was really hesitant on eating my sandwich but did it anyway. It did cost about $ 35 for 3 of them. With that said, I won’t be back. At least until they have the pests under control. Pro tip: Chips + drinks next door TLDR: Pass based on lack of pest control.

Moshe Moshe was wonderful. Probably the best sandwich in town. I like that their roast chicken had both white and dark meat — it’s the way it should be and a great mix to make it moist yet not too greasy. The vegetarian sandwich I heard was just ok.

Gonna be a bit of a fanboy here, but Bite is definitely the best sandwich place I’ve been to in SF so far. Words are too restrictive a medium to express the emotion I felt when trying the Gouda Good. I usually try to experiment different things, but I’ve been here 4 times and had the Gouda Good every time as I have a hard time believing anything else can taste better. Just wish there was a Bite in the Mission so I could go here more often. All right, enough reading and more acting — hop in an Über and try this place for yourself!

Called in for a Gouda Good and a Gotti. They ran out of the default breads so I requested for wheat for the Gotti and sweet for the GG. They both ended up w/wheat. Asked for no lettuce on the GG and they still slapped it in. I’m not a fan of mortadella so I requested for a substitution of more salami. Ended up w/the mortadella anyways. Chicken for the GG is dry but the sauce helps out. Average size sandwich for about $ 10 each. Yay for late night hours.

Great sandwiches! I just had my first meal from Bite, and I am impressed. My partner and I ordered three sandwiches: Gouda Good — it really is as delicious as every review on here says. Get it. Kookooroo — this was decent, but not on GG’s level. The apple slices were super fresh! My Ex — Not wonderful. The walnuts did not taste as good in a sandwich as either of us were hoping. Would not recommend. I saw another reviewer on here give a ringing endorsement of the Vegetarian Bite. I’ll probably try that next time I go. Portion sizes were generous. I’m a big guy with a big appetite, and one sandwich was about right for me(I might eat 1.5 on a hungry day). All in all, I’m impressed with their fresh ingredients and interesting flavor combinations, all for $ 9-$ 10 for most of their sandwiches. I will definitely be back!

I stayed in SF for five days and we went there four times, including a Lyft to the airport(had to get it one more time). We tried a few different sandwiches but I have never had a better sandwich than the Gouda Good. The rotisserie chicken was amazing!!! The Gouda Good rotisserie chicken, gouda cheese, pepperhouse sauce on dutch crunch.

I was craving a sandwich so I looked for the closest, best rated place near me. I’m so happy I found Bite! I ordered the Gouda Good based off of other reviews. Rotisserie chicken with a pepper house sauce and Gouda cheese on Dutch bread. The bread was so crispy and the sauce complemented the chicken so well! These are big sandwiches but it was so tastey, I ate the whole thing :) Will definitely be back next time I am in SF.

Definitely one of the better sub sandwiches I’ve had in town, but I never seem to go back because — at least during normal hours — there are just much better sandwich options in the neighborhood. Bite has limited seating, only a few beverage options(mostly bottled), and probably more choices than they can credibly juggle in such a small kitchen. How fresh can your BBQ be when it’s one of over twenty options? They also only seem to offer«to go» even for their own tables(which are outside), so you can be stuck having your«plate» blow around. But, more than any other reason, I just think there are better neighborhood options.

My wife and I decided to give them a go since we were in the Tendernob. We decided to try two completely different flavors… one that was«highly recommended» and one«unknown». The Mama Mia was good. Hot coppa, salami, ham, provolone and a thick pesto sauce on sourdough. Great sandwich if you like pesto. We both liked it very much but we’ll explore other menu options next time. The Kitchen Sink was everything we hoped it would be. Totally stacked with 7 meats, horseradish cheddar, pepper jack, artichoke, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and house pepper sauce on Dutch crunch. mmm… gluttony goodness. The problem with getting 2 sandwiches from Bite… you can’t finish them both without extra help or some weed. On the bright side… I’m eating everything that’s left over for dinner. Verdict… this is a fantastic place to get a huge sandwich. It may be our new favorite in SF.

I totally understand why this joint is so loved. Think fresh, warm, crispy toasty bread baked between a mouthful of ingredients that deliver a punch of enticing flavors. And at a price to love? That makes one damn good Bite. After a show at The Masonic, my brother and I decided to get a quick bite and found this place around the corner.(Open til 2am. Perfect for those drunchies?) Parking was a little tough, as is all SF street parking, but we eventually found a spot a few blocks down and walked over. It’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall with room only to stand and wait. It’s more of a stop and go kind of sandwich shop, with the kitchen right behind the counter and rotisserie chickens roasting right before your eyes. Their menu is pretty expansive and full of SO many different sandwich combinations – different meats, cheeses, veggies and breads to go in. You’ll find any combo you love, with the option of making your own. They also offer salads and wraps. I opted for the Vegetarian Bite which, for a lot of sandwich shops can be a rip-off, but WOW did they pack in the flavor! It came with hummus, avocado, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and lettuce in a toasty wheat Dutch bun. And for a vegetarian sandwich, it was super tasty and filling as any other sandwich you could order. Their prices typically range from $ 8 – 13, which is totally worth the price since their portions are very reasonable and generous. Food is made on the spot, as some sandwiches can take a bit of cooking time, which, for me… is no bother at all. I trust their cooking and preparation to make every sandwich fresh, warm, toasty and full of flavor, which is exactly what I got. Overall, it’s everything you’d want and ask for in a sandwich. Just good ingredients cooked and prepared well… From the bread to the variations of turkey, bacon, roast beef, gouda or blue cheese, they’re making good stuff here. And I’ve no complaints. I don’t know many good sandwich places around, but if I’m ever in SF again and this place is close by, you can bet I’d love to get another post-concert bite here. It satisfies, is delicious, and I get what I pay for. I can guarantee you’ll love your bite here too.

Delicious! My new go to sandwich spot in the nabe. Amazing service, delicious sandwiches(try the gobbler with turkey, bacon, avocado on Dutch crunch), and outside seating. Very reasonably priced for the size.

I was craving a sandwich so I came to this small shop in the tendernob area for lunch. The place has a nice seating area outside, but a tiny interior. The place could maybe comfortably hold 8 – 10 people so on a busy day, don’t plan on being able to eat at the store. The interior of the store has a nice layout and lots of menu options ranging from salads to wraps to sandwiches. They have customizable options and options for vegetarians as well! I ended up ordering the Gobbler which is essentially a turkey club on Dutch Crunch bread. Though there weren’t that many people there(maybe 5), it took them a long time to get my food out(15 min) and the lack of AC in the building made it a very hot wait. Once I got my order though, everything about the place got much better. The sandwich was huge and was actually loaded with filling, unlike the misleading subway sandwiches. Also the Dutch Crunch bread lives up to its reviews on Unilocal! While the food deserves 5 stars for sure, I felt compelled to take a star for the service this time around. I’ll be sure to order ahead next time.

Midnight — Thursday night. After a nice night at the nearby hookah bar, we were starving and looking for any place that was open late. There were a few spots open, but mostly places serving alcohol — the local sushi bar seemed more like a nightclub at this time from the reviews(although I will stop in there soon). Luckily for us, Bite was 0.1 miles away from us, so it was an easy decision. Walk up a couple ‘steep’ hills(these out-of-towners don’t know what a steep grade is). We were having trouble deciding because we wanted everything on the menu. Eventually we went with the Kitchen Sink and the Napa. The Napa has cracked pepper turkey, brie cheese(!!!), chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato, and onion on sourdough. The Kitchen Sink has seven types of meat(wow.), pepperjack and horseradish cheddar cheeses, artichokes, and peppercorn sauce on dutch crunch bread. They didn’t have Dutch Crunch bread which was a huge negative — –1 star for this. We wanted it for both sandwiches because I was talking about Dutch Crunch all day to my friends from out of town, only to learn that Bite had ran out of it. Come on guys, this is the local specialty — you should have more than enough. We didn’t show up at last call either. Severely disappointed. Other than that, things were outstanding. Gives Ike’s and Lou’s a run for their money(although a touch more expensive, you get a slightly bigger sandwich as well. They have full size pickles for $ 1.50 which were both crunchy and juicy(4 star — nothing beats a NY pickle), and the coleslaw was above average, the right blend of sweet and sour and not overpowering the sandwiches. I would definitely come back for other sandwiches, as there are 10 other ones that I need to try. Too small to eat in — get it to go and enjoy elsewhere. Will update as I try different items and finally get that dutch crunch I’m hopelessly addicted to.

You must get the Rotisseries chicken, avocado, smoked gouda and chipotle sauce sandwich. Loved it! Very small place with few seats outside – great place to get a good sandwich and comparable to the other great sandwich places in the city.

I would give this 5 stars if I could venture here at least once a week(after a 3mile hike at least). Visiting from Columbus Ohio, decided we needed a good, fresh sandwich for our last meal. Ike’s Place was too far, so we went with Bite, which appears very similar… hmm. I don’t know about taste w/Ike’s but Bite was(is, still eating as I type) Delicious. Ordered the Gouda Good & the Kitchen Sink. Didn’t change anything w/the Gouda, everything I was hoping for. I’ve never had the Dutch bread, good, but think I’ll go w/the soft roll next time & extra sauce, more is always better. Kitchen Sink was superb, no tomatoes but added jalapeño, just made it better. Service was met w/a smile, no complaints there. We planned our dinner around a 9pm boxing event so there was absolutely no line, completely empty, just awesome. Next time, we will call ahead to order just in case. Wish we had more places like this in Cbus, may want to expand…
