I happen to stumble across this cute little neighborhood bookstore and I was thrilled I stopped by. As cute and rare as it was I will say that the people weren’t very friendly. My husband and I came into the store and the people at the counter looked at us walk in and just continued on with their conversation. We were in there for about 20 minutes looking for some rare books and not even once were we approached to see if we needed help. I will say that despite the lack of warmth and service I was still glad I was able to find a very rare book at an affordable price. Overall I’m glad I got to check it out, but not 100% sure if I’d go out of my way again to shop here, but I won’t discourage any bookworms from checking this little spot out… that is if you don’t mind no service.

This store reminded me of Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore, small space but high ceilings, less light the further back you go, with mostly vintage and some really ancient books on the top shelf that I’m not even sure were for sale. It’s cute and quaint and doesn’t have many best sellers or mainstream titles. Pretty limited selection. I was looking for modern typography books but they were all really outdated, nothing published past 1999, it appeared. There’s other items for sale here like vintage photos, cool postcards, and notebooks. I bought a poem from the dispenser, which is a unique novelty that most bookstores don’t have. The prices are average. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for an older title or if you just love the smell of old books like I do. :)

Great little indie bookstore. The ambiance is definately something that would make a bibliophile swoon. Pricing is hit or miss with easily found use titles at a fair price. If the title is something a little more obscure they seem to price much higher than you would normally expect to pay, even if the title and edition are still available new from the publisher. Worth a visit if you are in desperate need of a title and willing to pay a premium.

This bookstore is around the corner from my apt. It’s the kooky neighborhood new and used bookstore that unfortunately is disappearing in SF. I’ve found some incredibly interesting books and magazines here. Lots of rare books and LGBT collectibles. Too bad they are loosing their lease in this never ending gentrification of SF. Now I wish I had shopped there more often. Good luck to the owner and thank you for serving our community!

Could discover a whole new world in this used bookstore. Tucked into Hayes Valley, a worthy stop if you are nearby.

It’s a small book store with a really good collection. Bibliohead keep it tight, but kind of pricey. The service is all right. Sometimes they’re nice, sometimes they’re reading. I recommending stopping by Blue Bottle across the street for a latte before browsing because you could be there awhile.

The book-store is starting to feel like a bit of an anachronism. Amazon is making it hard to buy books in a brick-and-morter. Yep — there are some good shops around town, but even with the typical SF sticker-shock taken for granted, I still have my mid-Western cheap-streak. Hence — deals. I love this place because it has an interesting selection of books that I actually want to read. Great diversity of topics. I’d highly recommend dropping by to browse and check out their extensive selection. They have a lot of good stuff — whoever is doing the buying is savvy and doesn’t fill the shelves with junk. I’ve always found the staff to be helpful too. I love hitting this place and doing some browsing — I come across some interesting things at a good price.

I am so happy I ran into this bookstore while walking down Gough street. The selection of books is AMAZING and I always find great bargains here. Last time I walked in they provided hot cider and cookies for their patrons(completely unexpected but such a nice gesture nonetheless!) I love this bookstore.

I love chatting with Melissa, the owner about new books that she’d recommend. She is great about special ordering books that I want that they don’t have in stock, a service that use several times a year. I’ve also cleared out my collection with them, and gotten fair trade-in prices. Friendly, quick and friendly service, and good selection of used books.

Bibliohead Bookstore is stacked full of books, ground level to the ceiling. all the books are catalogued in categories. some new books are available up front. otherwise it’s used or barely used books. bargains aren’t available here. fine books are. expect to pay 50% of suggested retail price. «obama’s wars», woodward(15),. sure goodwills will have it for 3 soon. nice place to browse for hard to find books.

Looking for an urban used bookstore? Well look no further because Bibliohead has it all. From new collections like Harry Potter to deep philosophical pieces like Foucault’s Pendulum, this place carries great used, new, rare, and uncommon books. Why pay more than you need to? It’s not that I don’t like big commercial bookstores like Borders and B&N. Smaller bookstores just seem more intimate and personalized. well, depending on your taste :)

I wanted to like this place. I mean I really, really wanted to like this place. Most especially after finding they had a great gender based section. But they mixed horror with fantasy. And that’s sacrilegious in my book.

I do truly wish that the zeitgeist and focus of «we the people» were on the word slow, intentional, ethical, self-sacrificing, compassionate, and book-loving!!! I think the world of this bookstore as I walked past and then back to head in to Bibliohead. Drawn by the lights and the name, I wanted to see what was up in a real, proper
