I feel very lucky and proud to call Ben Shemano «our jeweler.» We have bought estate pieces from as well as new, signed items. He has also helped out with preparing appraisals for our insurers.
Ben has a deep knowledge of jewelry and watches. He is totally professional and discreet, and his studio is private, beautiful, and well-​located. Ben and his wife Kira are great people and it is a pleasure to work with them!

I needed to get a Rolex appraised for insurance purposes, and I was referred to Ben by one of the Rolex Authorized dealers in SF. Due to my travel schedule I needed to come in that afternoon, Ben’s schedule was packed but he happily fit me in. It was an absolute pleasure meeting him and his wife. He took the time to educate me on the gemstone market, and I actually had a very good time listening to him share his knowledge and take all the time I needed to ask as many questions as I wished.
You know when you’re talking to a straight shooter and not a salesman. It’s businesses like these that give small businesses a great name, and keep me from going to the big chains.

Ben is an absolute gem (pun intended)! He and Kira were a pleasure to work with in helping us design our customized engagement ring.
I have my mothers marquis stone, which can be very outdated looking. Ben managed to help make my vision a reality with a truly unique, beautiful and contemporary setting.
Now we use Ben Shemano as our family jeweler. My future mother in law just worked with Ben to create a gorgeous 50^th wedding anniversary ring.
And Ben is not only an amazing jeweler, he is also fair, works within budget and is extremely open to ideas. He made our engagement experience that much more special and we are looking forward to working with him for future milestones.

The fact that I followed Ben from Provident Loan over to his new location when I made my most recent purchase probably says more than any amount of stars or a review could. I had a great experience with Mr. Shemano when I purchased my wife’s wedding set a few years ago, and when it was time to get a Christmas gift I knew he was the person I wanted to work with.
It was a smart decision. With the wedding set he produced an amazing vintage engagement ring and wedding band. In this case I wanted a diamond solitaire necklace, and when I came to his shop after a couple quick emails he showed me two great diamonds. He explained the details of the stones and setting he planned to use, and within a couple days I was back in his office to check out and purchase a brand new beautiful necklace.
No intimidation, no pressure, friendly guy and (let’s face it, this is the most important part when you’re purchasing things for others) great-​looking jewelry. I’m glad Ben is now an independent business owner, and I was happy to work with him again in his new office (which is in a pretty cool location in Union Square).

Ben has been in the business for a long time and I am thrilled about his new shop! He is a fair and honest guy, and does a great job explaining things. He knows his sh*t.
