When I moved to San Francisco, it took a number of painful barber experiences before I found Walter. Walter is one of those rare people that clearly, truly love their craft. His talent is only topped by his attention to detail. On top of getting a great cut, Walter’s just a good dude. Always remembers what’s going on, where you left off last and the details of your last cut so you don’t have to explain each time you go in. If you are looking for a barber in the city, stop your search… Walter’s your guy.

Walter has been cutting my hair since I was in HS! Although distance keeps up from being as frequent as we were, I make it a point to hit his Chair every chance I get! He gets ALL the Stars because he got ALL the Bars!

Honestly a craftsman when it comes to cutting hair and a gentleman when it comes to service. He is no doubt the number one barber to go to! I’ve been going for 3 years and have no complaints. The last thing you will do is leave unhappy and feeling like a stranger. Even if you put him in a tight time crunch he is able to make you feel comfortable and confident in his craftsmanship. Absolutely recommend Walter to anyone looking for their hair to be cutting edge handsome.

It’s going to next to impossible to find a barber in the city that provides as much care and attention to detail as Walter. I was in a bind a few weeks ago and had to go to another barber — never again. Walter is leaps and bounds above the rest. Walter also keeps you entertained throughout your appointment, which is always a plus.

Walter is the man, plain and simple. There is nobody I’ve come across that has mastered their craft like Walter has. In addition to being an extremely talented barber, he’s a great person.

Barber Walters is truly a Jedi master of his craft. I went from shop to shop, barber after barber, $ 16 haircuts to $ 62, and everything in between until the search for MY barber ended when I met Walter. Not only is he a cool and down to Earth guy, he is one of the only barbers to be able to cut and style my unnecessarily thick and notoriously poofy hair.
I’ve been to countless barbershops in the SF Bay Area, and hands down Walter Bishop-​Jones is the best barber I know.

Long overdue, I scheduled an appointment for a haircut and beard trim with Walter about two months ago, and it was terrific in every way. I got a great hair cut, beard trim, and enjoyed great conversation with an extremely personable barber. It probably took longer than a typical haircut simply because we were laughing the whole time. I will no doubt be going back for my next cut.

What gives, Walter? You confirmed the week before, the night before, friended me on Facebook… then nothing? And we still haven’t heard from you. I was concerned something might have happened to you, but then you posted an awesome song on Facebook, so I’m sure you’re doing just fine.
Be careful, people. This was supposed to be my gift to our groomsmen, and they were left waiting. Very disappointing.

I’m a recent transplant to the Bay Area and was petrified at having to find a new person to cut my hair. My entire life, there have only been three, literally three people who have been able to cut my hair to my liking. Granted, my hair isn’t easy to cut. It’s thick, «hella straight», and doesn’t lay flat, rather it grows out. Blending, fading, etc has always been a challenge. Many a time I’ve left looking like I’m about to enlist in the Marines (no offense to our military — I’m the son of a veteran). Blame it on the Asian and Hispanic hair combo — worst ever. So, I used Unilocal to find Walter. I haven’t left since. There have been some times when I needed a haircut and Walt wasn’t available. I should have waited because those appointments didn’t end well. Anyway, if you’re looking for a guy who takes his time, pays extreme attention to detail (you won’t find a pickier customer than me — I almost feel guilty at times), and downright friendly dude, Walt is your man. As other reviews have already said, a haircut from Barber Walter’s is hands down the best cut you can get in the City.
I’m born and raised in San Francisco, one of three brothers, and we’ve been to almost every barber shop in the entire City. Had some good cuts from some good people, but Walter is hands down the best barber I’ve ever been to.

As a wedding gift to me from my wife, she had Barber Walter come to our home to clean me and my friends up. Barber Walter did a tremendous job, and all us said he was super cool and really professional. Really looking forward to hiring him again, as he had us looking absolutely fantastic for my wedding day!

Walter is amazing. He always has a cheerful demeanor and is fun to be around but more importantly he does amazing haircuts and shaves! Every time I get my haircut by him I am impressed by his skill and professional manner. I cannot recommend him highly enough and I get many compliments on my hair after a visit with Walter!

Walter is phenomenal. He was able to find a style that works for my curly, coarsely-​textured hair. For this alone he is a superhero. The cut, the conversation, and the attention to detail all amount to a great experience. I’ve found my San Francisco barber.

I shopped around for a while before I found Walter. And boy am I glad that I was fussy, Walter’s by far the best barber I’ve ever had. Walter applies a great deal of care and skill to every cut. And seems to have an endless supply of tricks and tweaks that make all the difference.
I can’t recommend him highly enough. So glad he’s launched a mobile service.

Hands down, Walter has given me the best haircuts I’ve ever had. His hair-​cutting skills are top-​notch, but best of all he makes the hour or so you’re in the chair really enjoyable.
