As a busy mom, it is hard to schedule time for yourself and 6 months in between haircuts is not unusual for me. Barb really gets it and easily accommodated me today as always. I have been going to her for over 15 years and have followed her when she has changed locations. Today was my first visit at her new location at Follicle Hair Salon on Sutter Street. Wow is this place gorgeous. There is an open air patio in the middle, amazing chandeliers, and a really fun vibe. Barb worked her usual magic and i got soft highlights and an excellent haircut. Thanks Barb! you are the BEST!

I’ve been going to Barb exclusively for 15 years now and have recommended her to friends and strangers who ask «who does your hair?». Barb is a GENIUS colorist and an excellent stylist, as well as a great story teller. I bring my kids to her now and they adore her. There’s nothing better then having the best stylist in town who entertains you too. The time flies by when i’m in her chair!

«Grey hair is God’s way of telling us we need more highlights»… and Barbara painstakingly creates the most gorgeous natural looking ones I have ever had — even after months of neglect, as I never seem to get around to dealing with my mop.
She never berates me over my foot-​long split ends or lack of coif-tolerance…gently nudges me away from my more severe bouts of «CUT IT ALL OFF!» or «DYE IT ALL PINK!» and I love her for it. In fact I’m going to give her a call right now!

Barbara does more with her shears than Bruce Lee could do with his numchuks! She started cutting my hair back in 1995 when I moved to SF and even though I’ve moved all over the country since I still come back to her when I can. She’s the best.

Three great reasons to go to Barbara — One, she is a skilled precision cutter and colourist. She tolerates the fact I only get my hair cut three times a year with grace. Two — Her wit keeps me entertained while she works on my hair — she’s a long time San Franciscan with great stories. Three — the 1920’s space with floor to ceiling windows (which open!) is a lovely way to float above the city street but still see what’s going on.
