So I went here for Happy Hour after a long work day to celebrate hump day. It is located in Yerba Buena Center. They have dollar oysters and their happy hour is from 4 pm to 6 pm! The oysters were pretty small but I’m pretty sure it’s not the season for it. The place is really nice and we had a nice view looking over Yerba buena. Their drinks here are really good and the sangria is a must try!

Fantastic food with the worst service I have ever had!!! I never write Unilocal reviews but I found it necessary to start as a SF native. I do not have much time off but I thought I’d stop into this restaurant during happy hour for a quick bite and a cocktail a couple of months ago. My first impression made it seem like just a place for hungry desperate convention goers to go and get a drink. It seemed a little dirty and my boyfriend and I were not seated right away even though we were standing in the doorway for a good 2 min. We almost left. All of the servers looked uninterested in doing their jobs and had their backs faced to the dining area looking annoyed at the thought of even being at work. So when we were finally seated we were given some thrashed looking menus and were told that one of the specials was a blueberry pork mousse. Um that sounded weird… yet interesting so I decided to try it. Are you kidding me server! It was so much more then that. This place would make a fortune off of foodies if they got their service right!!! This dish was so complex and so delicious. It even had succulents as a component with tossed popcorn and a corn mousse next to a piece of blueberry glazed pork belly. I would love to describe it further but all the server gave me was blueberry pork mousse? WTF. Lastly my boyfriend felt this place has a really terrible beer list and some boring outdated cocktails. This is SF! We have so much to offer in terms of culinary, craft cocktails and beer. You have such a killer location to have an amazing restaurant. Maybe it is your goal just to make money off of your pitchers of booze which are great but what else do you have to offer? I even went back a SECOND time and it seems like the service was WORSE and the restaurant was empty. If I ever saw my staff eating and hanging out instead of serving customers I would have a melt down. The same server came out and said the special was spiced scallops. On my way out I caught one of the kitchen staff which turned out to be the chef. Her scallops had this amazing purée and I had to ask what it was! Stone fruit purée with grilled okra and a complex spice rub. It was amazing to say the least. I told her that. I saw her heart drop when I flat out told her the service was garbage. Get a new job chef! You are too good for convention center tourist restaurants. Or get it together owner because you have some gems in your kitchen.

This review is solely on their happy hour cause, well, I’ve only been here for happy hour.(Not an alchy, I promise!) Happy Hour: Tuesdays through Fridays from 4:30p — 6:30p — $ 1 oysters — $ 6 sangria — $ 45 pitcher of sangria(white, white sparkling, red, or red sparkling) — $ 45 cocktails pitcher(moscow mule or kentucky stud) My former coworkers took me to B Restaurant and Bar for my going away celebrations a month ago. Located in the Yerba Buena Terrace, it overlooks the gorgeous gardens, so you get a nice view with your drinks. Since the weather in the city was really nice that day, we asked to be seated outside. Then, we started in on those pitchers!(Each pitcher pours about 8 portions.) After some pitchers, there were shots, and then what the hell happened??? Cheers!

What a cute little place with a beautiful atmosphere and great happy hour specials. We had the oysters, which were just ok, cheese plate and truffle fries which were awesome! The service was good and it wasn’t too crowded when we showed up on a Monday around 5:45. Happy hour is until 6:30. Definitely will come back to try the regular menu.

Great find on a sunny afternoon in in SOMA. The space is great — very relaxed and comfortable with great light. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but even the indoors has an outdoor feel to it as the place is so open an airy. The food was fresh and good. The fresh catch app was amazing, as were the truffle fries. I would definitely come back.

I love the happy hour here, with $ 1 oysters and half-off wine. The quality of oysters and wine was excellent. It’s not a big place but there is a lot of seating in the patio. The service was very quick and friendly. I enjoyed sitting outside in the patio area overlooking buena yerba center and garden. It also has a good view of the city. It feels like almost a secrete garden patio from the hustle and bustle of the busy city while enjoying what the city offers.

Came here for dinner after work around 6PM. It was such a nice hot day and decided to go somewhere outdoors with a nice view! We ordered: Oysters: OK, not the best oysters I have had Truffles Fries: Loved it! Hot and crispy! PEI Mussels: The broth is so yummy! I kept dipping it with bread! Roasted Cauliflower: Delicious and creamy and flavorful Happy hour is before 6:30PM! It’s a pretty good deal, $ 1 oysters and pitchers of sangrias! The only complaint I would have had is that the staff is SO slow, otherwise, good place for drinks and good with a great view!

Had only a glass of wine with a friend here during happy hour on a Wednesday. Wait staff was super friendly and gave us tips on wine selection. They also checked on us often, super attentive. Would come back again for happy hour as it was quiet enough to hear our conversation and great service!

Quite a nice surprise with this place! The area is packed with chains and I wasn’t expecting to find such a pleasant setting. The restaurant is very nice with its huge windows and provides an awesome view on the neighbourhood. It felt very relaxing to sit there. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. I went for a lentils curry soup and a salad and my friend opted for the muffuletta which was huge. We both had a nice lunch time and continued our visit of city with a positive feeling.

#11 of 100 Reviews Challenge of 2016 A coworker and I had a great time here enjoying the San Francisco sun in February before we went to a Washington wine event at the Metreon. We had a great view of Yerba Buena Park and the people that walked by. We had the privacy to chat about business and the service by Kyle was wonderful. He was attentive and friendly. We had the soup, truffle fries, Brussel sprouts, grilled Caesar with steak, a double espresso and the apple crumble. The best part for me was the steak on the Caesar. Flavorful. And you can go wrong with fries. They were thin and perfectly salted. I have always wanted to go here because of my name. Check! We should be back at some time or another.

Returned for a drink and appetizer for three on a Friday nite at 5:30. Great service, bright and fun atmosphere — interesting collection of boutique gins, whiskeys and ryes(we sampled the aromatic barreled blade gin) and had meatballs and a few other apps. Maitre’d was very accommodating(we all arrived in stages). Bartender was very knowledgeable in his boutique selections. Highly recommend this place for a place to grab a bite between afternoon and evening events. Will be back!

B R & B is one of my favorite spots for happy hour. It’s located at the corner of 3rd& Howard, situated at the top of the Yerba Buena Gardens waterfall. Whether you sit at the bar or tables inside you can see a great view of the city skyline through their large glass windows. I love to sit outside on their patio on a warm sunny day. Their outdoor seating works great for larger parties. Nice staff, and quick service even when they’re busy. I enjoyed their house cocktails called«Hop Scotch»(bourbon, scotch, plum liqueur, egg whites, bitters, & Pilsner). For group HH I recommend their dollar oysters(get there early as they ran out early one night), truffle fries, and wash I down with a pitcher of Moscow mule. Cheers!

Thanks God for Kyle! Our wonderful server is truly responsible for turning our 3-star lunch into a 4-star experience. My co-workers took me here the other day for my 3-year Unilocaliversary lunch. Located in Yerba Buena Gardens, B Restaurant’s downtown views are pretty hard to beat. So if you’re looking to impress an out-of-town guest at a SOMA spot, you should definitely bookmark this restaurant. As soon as our party of six was seated, it was time for the Kyle show. This guy was an energetic one-man show. In addition to promptly taking our drink orders and explaining his menu favorites, he entertained us with stories about his family and other amusing anecdotes. It wasn’t just our table — this guy really knew how to work the room. I swear — if there was ever a class on how to be a great waiter, Kyle should be the professor. He’s that good! As for the food, it was good(though not entirely memorable). To be honest, the menu was a bit confusing to me because most of the lunch entrées seemed more like appetizers(eg Chicken Meatballs, Po’ Boy Sliders, Carne Asada Fries, and Fried Mac & Cheese). Don’t get me wrong, these dishes were tasty but seemed more like over-priced bar bites. I wound up getting the Po’ Boy Sliders(3 mini-sandwiches made with fried chicken, spiced remoulade, pickles). Unfortunately, my order somehow got lost in translation. So while my co-workers received their meals in a timely manner, I had to wait another 10 minutes while the kitchen fired up my sliders. At the end of the day, it was an honest mistake. No harm, no foul. And Kyle made sure to take care of things and keep the mood light. I was surprised to discover that they took my meal off the check(that’s pretty stellar customer service). For what it’s worth, the Po’ Bo Sliders were crispy and filling. I’d definitely order them again. My co-workers all seemed to enjoy their dishes, but the overall consensus seemed to be that the portions were a bit small(especially given the price). That being said, I would totally return to B Restaurant for an afterwork happy hour. Their cocktail menu looks pretty amazing, and their food seems to be more suited for their bar program. If you do wind up going, be sure to request Kyle as your server. He’s awesome!

Was recommended to this place. Called to check and see about inviting coworkers here for a Happy Hour Birthday Get Together more than a week in advance. Was told they do not accept reservations, there was nothing on the schedule, and to come on in and enjoy. Arrived on the day of the scheduled event. Upon my arrival, I was told they were closed due to a private party. To say the least, I was forced to rush back to work to send an urgent email to stop everyone from coming the hour of the event. I’ve had three consecutive bad birthday’s. I was not looking for a forth. When I talked to the staff, I pretty much got a very nonchalant, shoulder raising, «Sorry.»

I came here Super Bowl weekend, so of course it was busy! Bartenders were fun and carried a conversation with each customer. I enjoyed their hard cider and my boyfriend went with his Jameson. Prices were great for SF. We ordered a side of fries and they were huge! SO delicious as well. I can’t wait to come back and order a meal!

I came here with a big group and we basically filled up the entire bar section, but hey, oyster happy hour and convenient location — can’t beat that! They’re located off this walkway on top of Moscone Center West and Yerba Buena Gardens(and near the Metreon). Overall, it was a relatively small bar(and because of the rain, people couldn’t stand outside either), but the bartender was nice and attentive, making sure to ask around in our group to see if everyone got a drink(who wanted one), and the drinks were surprisingly strong :) Also, the oysters and finger foods were pretty good, and they do certain drinks by pitcher, which was great for big groups like ours. A little crowded for large groups, but great ambiance and location for happy hour.

We were attending an NFL event at Moscone West(early afternoon) during SuperBowl week and had some time to kill between events. We wandered into B Restaurant — in a walkway next to Moscone West and overlooking Buena Vista Gardens. The ambiance is clean, bright and has an amazing view of the Garden. We had a very well seasoned roasted cauliflower with great flavors(crunchy roasted capers, lemon and tahini) and texture and our favorite pepper of all time — the blistered padrone(these were the largest we had ever seen). Oysters were perfectly cleaned and shucked with a typical mignonette. Wait staff very knowledgeable about menu, and bartender was practicing his ‘bottle juggling’(very entertaining). Will return for sure!

What a great place when you’ve been trapped in the conversation center that lies below. It’s my oasis in the trade show grind. There is an angel that works here and she knows who she is. The food is inspired and the staff is a pleasure. I can’t wait until I return. To the angel, let your hair down. Screw the a-holes that think otherwise… and I’m out.

Went for happy hour on Friday — their only happy hour food deal is the $ 1 oysters, but can’t be too mad about it, as the oysters are pretty good! But the star of the show were DEFINITELY the truffle fries. Oh my God. They’re basically right in between fries & chips — I love how crunchy they are! Sangria was too sweet for me, but other than that, not too shabby. Nice view, too.

OYSTERHAPPYHOUR! B Bar is indisputably my favorite HH spot in San Francisco. It helps that I’m a skip and a hop away since I work down the street, but they have $ 1 oysters and great deals on mixed drinks, wine, and sangria. They also serve sangria and beer in pitchers. The mixed drinks are quite strong; sangria is pretty fruity; wine is decent. I’ve only ordered small plates here: the fries are good(thin), brussels sprouts dish is great, charcuterie board is notable, roasted cauliflower was a pass for me(others liked it), edamame falafel was surprisingly tasty. The view is nice and if the weather permits, it’s a real treat sitting outdoors.

This place lost points because of service. I had lunch here in the afternoon, the place was not packed. It took quite some time before we were even helped by the server. The restaurant was out of oysters. Everything just moved too slow. Drinks were never refilled. I mean, come on, we’re outside in the hot sun, gotta stay hydrated! The final straw was the fact that the wrong food item was brought to us. My friend ordered meatballs, and instead received chicken wings. It took another 10 – 15 minutes until the mistake was fixed. We should have been comped for the screwup, but we weren’t. Looking past the issues on service, the food was delicious. Also, the surrounding outside aroma was really cool. It’s nice looking out over the park while you eat and drink in the sunshine. I just wish the service could be better.

Super stylish place but was just okay. Love the area! Enjoyed the house made ginger beer but that’s all. The friend had oysters, we shared the chicken sliders and the pork sandwich. All were good but not mind blowing. We spent hours chatting and having a good time catching up. Perfect for drinks and conversation.

After a long day at work, I stopped by this beautiful spot overlooking Yerba Buena for some drinks. We originally planned to go to a bar closer to the Giants game, but we decided to escape the craziness and walk a few blocks. The wait time was around 30 minutes for a table when we arrived at 6PM. While we waited, we sat indoors at the bar and chatted. Plenty of space and good selection. Once seated, I decided to give their burger a try because I haven’t had a burger($ 15) in a while. We also ordered some truffle fries($ 6ish) per the recommendations on Unilocal. So the food: the burger was prepared well, but it was a fairly standard burger. It comes with a salad, but the combined value of the salad and burger definitely does not add up to $ 15. The truffle fries were expensive as well, but I would definitely try them out if you get the chance. They were really fantastic. Overall, I gave this a 4 because it really is a nice spot. The food is fairly expensive, but not absurdly expensive. I do think that combination of the food+the location makes the price worth it. Would recommend as a potential date spot if you are looking for a nice setting that won’t break the bank.

I would give this place more stars, but mainly for the appearance plus if they had more oysters. However, it was still a beautiful bar and restaurant. We ordered our $ 1 oysters which ran out since we got the last plate! Darn it, cause it was smooth and buttery to my palates! We ordered their Asian Style Chicken Wings, Charcuterie Board, and Roasted Cauliflower along with our drinks. The chicken wings were nice and crispy, but the sweet and spicy sauce really reminded me of cheap sweet & spicy $ 1 Asian food sauce; okay, but not for the price. The meat board was nicely plated as it should and the meats and breads would have been perfect if I had ordered wine, but I was drinking an IPA; looking back this would have made since; blasted! Finally, what’s up with the tahini and cauliflower combo that I’m starting to see?! I just hate it, but my buddy ordered it so hey I tried. It’s always just too dry and felt liked eating crumbly powder. — Enjoy!

I’ve been wanting to do oyster happy hour for many months now and only just got around to it recently. For anyone who’s interested, Thrillist and SF Eater both have lists/maps of $ 1 oyster HH’s in SF :) B Restaurant is a great place for happy hour, especially if the weather is nice. It’s located in Yerba Buena so there’s a very peaceful, relaxing vibe, and the restaurant has glass walls/windows so there’s a beautiful view both indoors and outdoors. HH is Tuesday through Friday from 4:30 — 6:30pm. The HH menu is limited to just $ 1 oysters for food, but that’s not really anything to complain about. Alcohol is $ 5 – 7 or you can get a pitcher of sangria or moscow mule for $ 45. My friend and I ordered 6 oysters first because we weren’t sure about the quality, but they were definitely solid so we ended up ordering another 6. We also got the TRUFFLEFRIES($ 8) and a CHEESEBOARD($ 17). The truffle fries were DELICIOUS. Thin cut, perfectly crispy, lightly salted and seasoned with thyme, parsley and chives. The truffle oil is really the star though. The cheese board was solid and consisted of 3 cheeses, a few slices of bread, pear slices, candied walnuts and fruit preserves. I’m not a huge cheese person and I’m not really sure how to properly enjoy a cheese board, but I liked the cheeses. The bread wasn’t very good though — kind of stale and chewy. I wish they had served the cheese with crackers or a crunchier bread. Service here could definitely have been better. Pretty slow and inattentive. It took a while for someone to take our order and the server walked away to put our order in before we had actually finished giving him our order. We asked someone later about ordering the rest of our food and the girl said she’d let the server know, but that didn’t happen for a while. Still a solid spot for happy hour though. I’ll definitely be back for the $ 1 oysters and the truffle fries!

I came here for Happy Hour with a group of friends. If you are bringing a large party, definitely call ahead and give them a heads up. Luckily you can always find seating on the patio if it’s a nice day outside. Regardless, bring your sunglasses if the sun is out because the sun WILL get in your eyes whether you sit inside or outside. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. I got there ahead of time, and they asked me several times if I needed anything. I just enjoyed a refreshing glass of their Happy Hour sangria($ 6) while I waited for everything else. We mainly came here for their $ 1 Happy Hour oysters(which do taste like $ 1 oysters) and they were not terrible. Their sauces are disgusting though. Everyone avoided the cocktail sauce like the plague, and we had to ask for their horseradish three times before someone actually brought it over… but it was gross too. Tabasco sauce and their other hot sauce just does not do oysters justice. It was passable for Happy Hour. Plus if you order enough pitchers of beer and sangria(holy crap they have pitchers of Moscow Mule too!!) then you will be fine. Our waitress asked us like FIVETIMES if we wanted to order their fries. I was getting super annoyed that she was being pushy but our group finally caved in and ordered the fries. Okay the pushiness was deserved. The fries are so good. I’m definitely getting those next time. Because this place is so conveniently located(at the top of beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens) I would come back here, but once I find a better Happy Hour for oysters, goodbye B Restaurant!

I’d been here before on a quick corporate occasion, but had never given this place much attention in the past. I chanced upon it again on an Easter Sunday. I had been wandering the empty footpaths of the city all day, and the road just sort of randomly led me here. Earlier in the park, I had received a random nastygram from a random OKC bi-girl who was upset that I’d dared to have the balls to refer to her as a ‘cutie’.(As the modern male parlance states: she went all Jezebel on me.) Must confess that the note spoiled my otherwise glorious walk through our beautiful city. «I’ll order the ‘Feisty Flirt’ cocktail,» I said to the cutie bartender who nursed my wounds as soon as I entered this bar. The speaker played a soothing French electronica tune called«I Can’t Help Thinking About You’ by Variety Lab. SoundHound found it, and I downloaded it almost immediately. I looked around, and to my left and then again to my right — two cutie lesbian couples downed their drinks. All is well with the world again, lads. No hating. As men, it’s in our karma to try and to never complain. Just order a damn Feisty Flirt and enjoy the shrimp cocktail.

What a gorgeous restaurant — floor to ceiling glass windows with a beautiful view of the city lit up at night. The happy hour oysters were fresh and delicious! The happy hour menu also includes 2 beers, 2 wines, sangria, and pitchers of 2 different cocktails. I think it lasts till 6:30 pm. We got the fried mac n cheese which was good, the truffle fries and truffle risotto which I loved(but I love anything truffle), Brussels sprouts that were firm and flavorful, and something else that I can’t remember which means it wasn’t that good. I really like this place overall. The only thing is that I’ve given their cocktails so many chances, and I’m always disappointed. The drinks are imaginative with interesting ingredients, but somehow they are always poorly executed. This is still one of my favorite places to meet friends; going forward I’ll just be ordering wine and beer instead of cocktails.

I can see this place calling to me from my office. It is on top of Yerba Buena and its just across the corner. I might have given it an extra star for the convenience but regardless. Here are the other good reasons. $ 1 dollar oyster HH at 430 to 630 The oysters are actually pretty good size and pretty fresh they must run through them a lot. My coworker who will rename nameless has been known to just go here and buy the 5 oysters. Thats it. Now thats when you know its good to satisfy a craving. $ 5 dollar Racer 5IPA or Scrimshaw Beer $ 7 Wine I forget how they do Sangria you can get a pitcher or a glass and how much. Plus for a great view on the patio. Awesome view. Thats pretty much it for HH.

A friend of mine fell in love with B Restaurant and Bar with it’s outdoor atmosphere. For her birthday a few years ago, she gathered all of us for happy hour. *Oysters *Fries *Charcuterie Board *Pizzetta Lyonnaise So I’m pretty sure I drank my way through HH instead of eating, so I can’t really comment on the food. But who doesn’t love HH oysters?! I think they were either $ 1 or $ 1.50 each. For drinks, we got sangria. I’m normally not the biggest fan of white sangria, but they make a really nice refreshing one with sparkling wine. Plus the pitcher is really pretty with all the fruit! On a nice day, their patio is amazing. You don’t think much of it since you’re not very high and it doesn’t really look like much walking by. But if you sit outside while having a drink, you have a nice view of Yerba Buena and the surrounding buildings. It’s actually very lovely. A great place to enjoy drinks and apps!
