Sadly, Azteca did not last. The taco truck is gone and the market has been sporadically open up until recently. Now I haven’t seen them open in weeks. :(

I’m shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you! I’ve been living in this hood for 2 years and muttering to myself in a vaguely incoherent way how there wasn’t good food or groceries nearby. Usually my mutterings only result in strange looks from friends and strangers alike, but these mutterings bore fruit! And vegetables! And tacos! For Azteca has opened literally around the corner from me, and they are awesome. It’s an interesting setup: inside is a small but very clean market, with beautiful fruit and vegetables(and good prices). Parked outside to provide cooked food is a taco truck that preps tacos(delicious and cheap at $ 1.75 each), burritos, tortas, etc. It’s a brilliant way to create what’s basically a cute sidewalk micro-café. They also offer made-to-order sandwiches inside, which I have yet to try, but so far this place is an EXTREMELY welcome addition to the block.
