Amici’s pizza is absolutely the worst pizza I’ve ever had in San Francisco. A friend ordered pizza without consulting us and unfortunately, it was Amici’s. The crust is so super thin that it’s impossible to pick up a slice. We got pepperoni on half and the entire pizza was loaded with nasty juice all over it. I knew the pizza was bad, but this time it was worse than bad. I wish I could vote zero stars.

yummy, yummy pizza! I had to curb my addiction of going here weekly when I first got here. Best pizza outside of NYC

Mmmm… pizza. Amici’s has great pizza. That is, if you like the thin, crisp crust type of pizza. My favorite is the clam and garlic, with no tomato sauce. That’s the New Haven White Clam pizza. It comes with bacon, so if I’m good, I’ll ask them to leave that ingredient out. Otherwise, it can be a little too artery-clogging. The crust is good enough to polish off, because it’s not a bunch of uncooked dough. Instead, it’s closer to a breadstick. Kind of blackened, from sitting in the oven, though. They have a bunch of other creations. The Calabria and Trentino both have pancetta(!) on them. I’ve basically tried all the ones with meat, because some of my fellow pizza eaters don’t think a pizza is pizza without some kind of meat on it. However, I don’t like pizza with chicken on it; not a good combination in my opinion. Also have had the pasta dishes, usually with pesto sauce. They are good and satisfying. The portions for the pasta are kind of small, but enough to share alongside a pizza. I usually get takeout from this location. Each location is different, some are better looking or nicer than others. This location has the tough parking situation. They do deliver. There’s one near the SF Giants Ballpark, too. Several others are on the peninsula or further away from SF. I have to share this. My favorite memory of Amici’s is when a father and his toddler son were at the other table. The dad let his kid order. I think he ended up with some kind of broccoli pizza. Another item I don’t think belongs on a pizza.

Nothing beats a nice slice while window watching all the preppy Lances and Bruces walking by with their sweaters around their necks. I’ve ordered out from the Dublin Amici’s, and I enjoyed it. I felt that it was a little pricey, but still gave it a high rating. It’s the same with this Amici’s. A large Margherita with two iced teas cost us $ 32. I liked how it was pretty empty when we went(Saturday afternoon). It was pretty comfortable and the service was awesome. After sucking horribly at finding street parking, I gave up and paid $ 5(for first hour) at the garage right next to Amici’s.(If I had a Mini, I’d have found at least three spots…)

We’ve decided to try the pizza here after reading the reviews from other Unilocalers. We shared the chilled broccoli with olive oil and lemon which was excellent, even greater with a dash of parmesan cheese and tried the minestrone soup which was also very tasty. For pizzas, we both ordered a mini pizza each — Calabria Pizza: Mozzarella, Provolone, Pancetta(Italian Bacon), and Tomatoes and Amici’s Combo Pizza: Pepperoni, Meatball, Bacon, Sauteed Mushrooms, Black Olives. They were both very tasty and eventhough it was mini-sized, we were stuffed! The crust was just a nice-thickness and the pizza was delicious… mmm mmm mmm

The best brocolli ever. Its long stalks of brocolli, chilled and drizzled with cold lemon olive oil.

I am from Chicago, and love Chicago-style pizza, but have never seen anything close to it out here, so I don’t even try. I also love super-thin crust pizzas. The wood-fire oven makes a great crust, but you wouldn’t like it if you like the big chewy chain-pizza crust. Delivery can ruin this pizza, since it is so thin, and it can get soggy easily. I recommend picking it up yourself or going there. Only 4 stars because it is really overpriced for this type of pizza.

I’ve never been disappointed with the meals I’ve eaten here, pizza or otherwise. They have clean bathrooms, last time I checked. So I’m satisfied.

Not into their pastas or other menu items, but I’m a big fan of their pizzas! Thin crust, fresh toppings, yummmm. This place makes me very very happy. I love their pollo pie, the veggie, and their pesto! They really know how to use garlic well here. And the fact that they deliver for free is kick-ass!

From what I understand, the owners of this small bay area chain of pizza joints are from the Boston area, which isn’t exactly known for their style of pizza. Regardless of their origins, I think Amici’s makes one of the better thin crust pies out here. My favorite is the pesto(no sauce) with fresh tomatoes and fresh garlic on top! Bonus: they deliver to my pad out in the Russian Hill!

In contrast to the last reviewer, I can’t stand Amici’s and I normally love pizza. Terrible, absolutely terrible. I went with two friends the other night as we’d heard good things about it. The interior of the restaurant belongs in one of the seedier parts of the San Fernando Valley, not San Francisco. Our first mistake(after entering the restaurant) was ordering side salads. They had many salads on the menu so it seemed like a simple side salad wouldn’t be too difficult. Apparently their idea of a salad is a portion of a head of lettuce with one slice of an onion on top. The pizza came out somewhat burnt and despite getting the Amici’s Special it tasted quite bland. It’s a good thing I had two bottled beers while I was there as I needed them to be able to deal with the stench of our waiter’s B.O.

Very good. If you haven’t tried pepperoni and onion as a pizza combo, go somewhere and try it right now. This is the best. Seriously. If you get too many veggies on your pizza, it tends to get all watery and runny from all the moisture. Most italian sausage is fairly disgusting. This pepperoni and onion is really the way to go.

One of my favorite meals here: cheese/mushroom pizza chilled broccoli with olive oil and lemon. root beer. I am a major fan of Amici’s pizza. But it should be noted that I am not from New York. I like New York, but I do not judge pizza by its standards.

We pick-up pizza here and take it home, and it is fantabulous. When it comes to pizza(and most other types of food), I don’t get my panties in a twist over wether or not it resembles/compares to this or that, I just eat food and see if I like it or not, and I like Amici’s. Their crispy, kinda smokey crust and salty-ish sauce hits the spot.

I have only had the delivery experience from them, but it was awful. The pizza took an hour and a half to get to our place(this was not by any means a peak time…), and when it did, the crust was completely soggy and the cheese resolidified into a single piece(with all that eye pleasing grease just floating on top). I would like to think that mine was an isolated incident, but unfortunately, this has happened to me more than once(friends came over and had heard about how good the pizza was, i let them see for themselves). I really hope that the dine in experience is different, but i am not going to be finding out anytime soon.

There is no great pizza in San Francisco! In my eternal quest for«New York» style pizza, I ordered from Amici’s. My pizza was burnt and did not look like an ooey gooey pie… The seach continues.

I admit I grew up back east — so my concept of great pizza is based on that — if you like the pizza there this is the place for you. Fire cooked in a brick oven — not too bready(which in my opinion ruins pizza) — make sure to ask for the(free) fresh garlic. In my opinion this is by far the best pizza in SF.

Weak. What they serve doesn’t qualify as pizza in my book. Always likewarm, paper thin(in an unenjoyable way), and sparsely topped. I find it hard to believe that this place garners 4&5 star reviews.

Best pizza in SF. I could eat their veggie pizza every day and still never tire of it. The secret? They sautee the veggies before baking them with your pie, so the pizza tastes uncommonly delicious.

Don’t get me wrong, the pizza here is awesome. Very thin crust, original toppings, good selection … I just don’t prefer to eat here. This place is kinda drab, and feels very cold and stale inside. We sat by the window and even had tiny bugs flying around us. Yuck. Our waitress was nice, but I’d recommend the delivery option instead. And be careful of ordering when you’re the one feeding hungry male friends. The pizza is good for a reason, and that can add up.
