I am volunteering for the events at America;s cup and wanted to pass on information to friends and neighbors. ITISFREE, LOTSOFFUNFORBOTHCHILDRENANDADULTS. There are many events and things to do in addition to watching the end of the races from the piers at Pier 27&29, or the start of the races from Marina Green. Yes, you can buy bleacher seats to see the races but you don’t have to, you can see very well from the Marina Green or Piers 27&29. There are several restaurants, concerts in the evening and free live music in various areas during the day. There are several huge screens out on the lawns with huge bean bag«chairs» to lounge on while watching the races if you don’t want to go to the piers. Lots of picnic tables to enjoy a meal or just sit and rest. It’s both child and handicapped friendly. Log on to America’ for for detailed information. I have downloaded the app on my I phone and am following the races live on my i phone or watching them on Ch 3 on TV if I’m not in the city. I sometimes work in the«Flying on water» event(a fantastic and exciting 6 minute movie about the race) or in the exhibition hall across from that which explains a lot about the catamarans, wind, sails, currents etc. It’s a wonderful educational and fun hands on for both children and adults. There is also a «KIDZ corner», a fun area for smaller children. I also work in the information booth sometimes. Hope to see you there, look for me and HAVEFUN!!! As you can tell I am very excited about the America’s Cup event. I could go on and on but I think you can find more going on the website. Dress in layers as it can be chilly in the AM, usually the sun comes out in the afternoon but it can still be windy. There are several stores on the premises that sell clothes and memorabilia.
