Like many reviews, 1015 Folsom always advertises big performers for a hefty price. How long the performer is on is a hit or miss. Pay this price at your own risk as the guest sometimes just makes a short appearance(Miguel, G-Eazy), but sometimes especially if it’s a DJ(Duke Dumont), they are there the whole night. So its always a gamble. Just glad they have a bar so you could drink your sorrows away after your favorite artist shows up for 5 freaking minutes. On top of this, I wish this club just gets their freaking act together, the lines are always out the freaking door, the bar is cash only and the ATM is busted half the freaking time, there is barely any space for people to walk through, and to top it all off, the crowd is filled with rowdy ass people(like all the time). On a positive note, most of the bartenders are nice and beers are at a flat rate and their mixed drinks are always on point. There is also an upstairs where you can watch an act from the right side or you can deal with the crammed space of a downstairs. I tell myself I won’t come back here, but I always end up coming back. Is it the best place? NO. But if you REALLYREALLY want to see an artist you like(even for 2 songs) I guess it’s slightly worth it.

I like many of the reviewers here felt scammed by 1015’s advertisement of Miguel’s «performance». Who pays $ 45 to see the«headliner» sing for less than 20 minutes? WEAK. So many people had the same experience as I did. In line at 10pm, didn’t get in until 10:45. Cash only bar sucks, but there’s an ATM inside(convenient huh?). Went to the main floor at 11:15 to get a good spot and wait for Miguel to come on. DJ Espinoza finished his set around 11:45 and we get this second guy come up to warm up the stage for Miguel. I’m thinking, «Cool, Miguel’s gonna start around 12 and close out the night». NOPE. Had to stand there and listen to this DJ repeat«who’s from the bay» «Bay Area represent» «who’s here to drink» «who’s here to see Miguel» for an HOUR. He started losing the crowd by 12:30. People stopped dancing and just stood there. I mentally peaced out and thought it wasn’t even worth staying for. Miguel waltzes in and finally starts around 12:45 — yes, I think he’s a great singer live, but then he’s done by 1! And honestly, IDGAF anymore, it’s hard to enjoy a show when you waited to see an artist for over 2 hours just to have him sing for 15 minutes. Lost respect for him and the venue — you had a lot of fans show up and pay good money to support you, the least you could’ve done was a complete performance. And terrible on the venue to keep selling basically«unlimited» tickets at the door. Place was crowded AF. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because when I saw Martin Garixx perform back in August of 2015, I had a great time, the crowd was controlled and the artist actually played and finished a set.

I rarely write 1 star reviews but there are some things that need to be heard about this place. We paid $ 60 to see Miguel last Wednesday and we were so stoked. When Miguel finally came out at 12:45(after much lying about it being 5 more minutes), he played for a measly 10 minutes! 3 songs, 2 of which were his and 1 a duet with another R&B artist. Furthermore, he didn’t even have his guitar — that’s right, he played to the backdrop of a recording of his music. Then he left and went to drink with his crew in the VIP lounge, WHEREWECOULDSEEHIM. And the DJ kept saying things like, «The night’s not over, Miguel’s still in the house.» He never came back out. Many people on the Facebook page demanded a refund, and the management responded with it was a gig, defined as 2 – 3 songs and the event was a Super Bowl weekend party. ITWASNOTMARKETEDAS A GIGORSUPERBOWLWEEKENDPARTY. It was marketed as «Miguel at 1015 Folsom» and people paid $ 60 – 80 to see him. Complete bs, I am never paying to see an artist at 1015 again, because why? You’ll pay concert prices to see a 2 – 3 song gig. New to SF? Check out the Mezzanine instead — you won’t be disappointed.

What a joke of a club. Total scam with misleading advertisement just so they could get extra cash out of people. Paid $ 65 to see Miguel play 2 songs. Also they deleted my friend’s question on their Instagram page about how she could possibly get a refund and then blocked her. Shady.

Agh. Okay, I love that this venue pulls a lot of great talent and variety of artists, but every time I go here, I feel like the crowd is too much. Just a bunch of different types of people that don’t mix well together. I’ve been here a handful of times. I was here last night for Duke Dumont, a sold out show. While I was waiting in line to get in, they were continuing to sell tickets, all night. I get it if you have limited tickets at the door, but last night has got to be one of the MOST packed nights I’ve seen, and not in a good way. There was no room to move, or dance, or breathe no matter where you were in the club. Definitely a fire hazard… It was a total vibe killer. I’ve never had a terrible experience with the staff though. Lines move fast all the time. They’ve always been chill and friendly, and no bad experience with bartenders. It is CASHONLY bar which seems a little sketch to me. But whatever. As long as I can have fun, I’m okay. But please don’t overpack your club. This place has now turned into a love/hate relationship.

If I could give 0 stars I would. 1015 Folsom blatantly misrepresented a Miguel concert last night. The«concert» started at 10pm, which we we not allowed into the club until 10:40pm. We waited almost 3 hours to see Miguel and he sang 3 songs and that was it. It was the worst scam I have EVER experienced. In communication with the event manager, he has gone back on his word multiple times on refunding my money. Had this been billed as DJ + appearance by Miguel my tickets would have never been purchased. If anyone else went to the event last night I know you are just as furious as I am!!! In addition this was a cash bar ONLY, but you would only know that once you got inside.

Total scam. Purchased tickets for a Miguel concert to start at 10– artist came on at 12:40 and performed 3 songs total. When bringing it to the promoters and club’s attention that the show was nothing as promised I was blocked and my comments deleted. More interested in a quick buck then delivering what was promised. If I could give no stars I would. Attended my first event at 1015 Folsom. Paid for vip tickets to see Miguel. He came on at 1am and played 3 songs and left. There was a ton of backlash from disappointed fans like myself on 1015’s social accounts. They then deleted all the negative comments and blocked everyone that posted them. They changed posts they had posted about previously and all in all acted extremely shady. They essentially scammed a ton of people out of money. Attend at your own risk

Went last night to what was billed on their Facebook page as — «This is a crazy once in a lifetime chance to see MIGUEL in an small, intimate venue… Don’t miss it.» What we got was Miguel singing 3 songs over dj tracks. He only«performed» for 14 minutes and 39 seconds. He also didn’t come out until 12:40pm. 1015 Folsom didn’t bill this event as «Miguel hosts 2 djs playing top 40 for 4 hours and maybe he will do some karaōke too.» I feel this was deceptive advertising on 1015 Folsom’s part. For me, this was the second time an event there was not described as promised. Last fall they said that Todd Terje would be «performing»(not«dj’ing») and Terje came out with a laptop to «perform» on. I will not come here again and I would not give them any stars.

We paid good money to get in to a show that we were all excited for. We then offered to pay bottle service to get in and they were not accommodative. After offering to pay a lot of money for a chance to see a show we really wanted to see they were not helpful at all. If you want to pay money for a concert and not even get through the doorway, you should go here.

Saw A-Trak here the day before NYE. This place isn’t the Vegas-esque style night club you see in TV shows or Movies. There’s pretty much no dress code, so expect to see a lot of Diamond, CROOKS, FOAMPOSITES, Joggers and weak a$$ Flyknits… Pretty much 2011ish style. Also, This place is CASHONLY!

I saw Shiba San here on a Friday night and it was a really great experience finally seeing what a NorCal club had to offer. My friends and I got there a bit after 11 and there was a line but it moved quickly so we were in and out of the cold in no time. However, from one line we went to the coat check line. Coat check is $ 3 so it won’t burn a whole in your wallet but make sure you keep your pay stub. One of the first things I noticed about this place is that it is HUGE and has several floors with several DJs playing all at once. You would think that all of the music going on at once would distracting but going from one room to the next I could barely hear any overlap in sound. There are 3 floors to be exact and 4 dance floors total. They have the basement floor where they have Tvs set up so you can see the main stage. Then there is the third floor where they have a DJ spinning. On the second floor, which is the floor you walk into they have a side stage with a DJ, then on the adjacent room you have the main stage. The sound system in the main stage is great, tons of bass and the visuals were decent. It was pretty darn crowded but getting through the crowd was easy for the most part because people were nice. Drinks are not that expensive but it is cash only, which is easily my biggest complaint. What kind of place is cash only?!? Another thing, this place felt like a maze, especially after several drinks and finding one of our friends took much longer than it should have, so you have been warned. All in all, this place is tons of fun and the Djs booked here are solid.

This place can get super crowded, especially in the main room. I actually got my phone pickpocketed here as I was navigating and squeezing through a jam-packed dance floor. I was upset but at the same time let it go since I knew whoever stole it couldn’t do much with it since it was locked and had the anti-theft iOS installed. It was my 2 year old iPhone 5 anyway. Whatevs. Keep it, loser. =] Other than that, I suppose it’s a good venue to go to see artists performing. Nice acoustics, and lots of different rooms to roam. Bar is cash only though. Off topic. There’s a vendor who sells bacon wrapped hotdogs outside for $ 5 but make sure you don’t get a burnt ass one like my friend and I did, lol.

Saw Flylo here for NYE. — Whoever was in charge of the mixer for Thundercat needed to fix it cause some random guy came up to me and started having this random convo, complaining that the sound wasn’t too great and as if I was suppose to do something about it lmao + RBV drinks in the Main Room are stronger than the Front Room — I’m 100% sure I blew $ 100+ on drinks + Shots are cool and expensive + There is a bar in every room I think which is such a great business idea because everyone’s constantly thirsty — Skip the bar in the Front Room; trust + There are enough bartenders in the Main Room to serve you — The ladies restrooms is lowkey disgusting *who pisses on the floor* and some of the bathrooms didn’t have door hinges. Imagine draining your bladder while drunk girls are yelling at you to hurry up + People definitely dress to impress — Smoking section is outside by the entrance but it’s a small area and you are bound to meet all walks of life cause you’ll accidentally touch their hand or some body part + Almost everyone on the dance floor in the Main Room is on something — But they will want to dance on up and all around you so make sure you always stick with your squad

I absolutely loved it! It just so happened that on my birthday this year, France was attacked by terrorist sadly, and Gesaffelstein(a French producer/composer/DJ) was on tour in the US, on this particular day at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco. Of course, when we purchased our tickets weeks earlier we had no idea of the horror headed to Paris, but I have to say, I brought it up in this review because it was handled beautifully at 1015 that night for their French DJ guest. I love San Francisco and I love Gesaffelstein so I was excited to make the trip up from Southern CA for this event. However, I am not really a fan of most clubs anymore. Perhaps the stupid clubs in LA ruined it for me, but I typically prefer to go to low key raves or large festivals for my shows. It was my birthday so we gave 1015 a shot and I was absolutely amazed. We assumed Gesaffelstein was going to cancel his performance when the news hit the US of the horrid attacks in Paris. So we called the club several times, tried to get in touch on Facebook etc but couldn’t get any info so we just went on over. Graciously, everything was still on as planned. Getting in was super easy and the door staff was truly one of the friendliest I have ever encountered. Entering the club I, I was shocked because it appeared small but as we explored we found out it is actually quite expansive with a sexy dimly light basement, and a quite spacious stage area on the other side. I was a little taken back when I went to the bar and pulled out my card and was told I needed to pay cash. However even when I was told that, the female bartender was super sweet and there was a nearby ATM within 1015. While we waited for Gesaffelstein, we decided to hang out in the basement since there were some awesome drink specials and to be honest we just liked the vibe and ability to sit and enjoy our drinks in a relaxed groove. All the screens showed the French flag and there was some really nice techno being played. Going out for a smoke break was super easy as well. When Gesaffelstein came on we went to the large stage area to see him front and center and wow was it jam packed. However it was a GREAT vibe, just barely enough dancing space and I even got to light Gesaffelstein’s cigarette and hold one of his feet when he walked on the crowd and began singing the French National Anthem. I think part of what I loved most about being at 1015 was the vibe and the crowd. None of that dress to impress nonsense, yet no one was slummin it, and non pretentious yet still classy and fun. It was a fun-filled night of dark, beat heavy techno, dancing, loving and people uniting. So even though the night was absolutely magical and I loved the venue, staff and other clubbers I will hit a couple negative things(but not unexpected at a club on a big night so I did not deduct stars). The bathroom line was CRAZY long for the women. Despite this, they kept the restroom significantly cleaner than almost every club I’ve been to in the last 10 years so thank you for that! It did however discourage me from enjoying a couple more cocktails because I wasn’t willing to do that line more than twice over the entire night. Also, as I mentioned before it was impossible to get someone on the phone or to respond on Facebook. This also came into play later because I stupidly left my wallet in the restroom. I realized it about 10 minutes after we left at the end of the night and I desperately tried to get in contact with someone and even went to 1015 the following morning to knock until someone opened the door to pick it up. That never happened. I did not get a response to any messages or my 2 inquires to their Lost & Found form on the website until almost an entire week later. That being said though, this is STILL a 5 star review because the very sweet person that did respond to my lost and found message promptly found my wallet, and kept in touch with me until she took it to UPS and mailed it back to me and did not even take money from me to mail it! WHAT!!! So honestly this club employs the nicest people in the world because that would never happen anywhere else. I still cannot believe my wallet was mailed back in tact! I wish I lived in San Francisco, I’d probably be here once a week.

Came here for Trap City on a Friday night with low expectations for the venue — this place surprised me! It’s bigger than I thought, with multiple rooms and a mezzanine on top of the main room. The DJs were awesome — particularly Sonny Digital. Will have to come here for another Trap City event. Note that the bar is cash only.

I came here on a Thursday night to see Bondax play on recommendation of a friend. In terms of the actual venue itself, the interior was okay. There were two different areas, one room in the front for regular music and the room closer towards the back where the guest musicians or DJs came to play. I did find that when the performers started, there was not a lot of room to move around because the place quickly became packed. I also think that they closed off parts of the venue, that they should have opened up to accommodate for the crowd. There are also a couple of bar areas, which makes it convenient to buy drinks, but sadly they are cash only, which made buying drinks a little difficult if you did not plan for this ahead of time. Could be worth a revisit if there is someone interesting playing.

I don’t get the bad reviews. This club is great! At first I thought the club was just the first room you walk into. but it’s not. After they opened up the main room and I saw that, I decided to walk around the venue… and I discovered this place has many rooms with bars and DJs. I really liked this club because I saw GIORGIOMORODERDJ here! Giorgio is an electronic dance music pioneer! He did a fantastic DJ set. The disco DJ community came out for this… But Giorgio did not play that much disco. He had a modern set with music like Icona Pop, some rock like Walk the Moon… I like the crowd that was at this event a lot… I sat on the stage at the back of the main room. There was a group of gay men who had their shirts off lol. I had a blast at the Giorgio Moroder event.

This place is cash only… which was really surprising. What was more surprising is how rude two of the bartenders we encountered were. They should really not be in the service industry. One of them that I encountered downstairs completely lacked common sense and was sooo rude. I don’t trust the drinks made by bartenders like this one to not put poison in my drink because she lacked common sense so badly. She even insulted me and my friend. lol… It only takes one bad employee to kill your business unless you cut them ASAP. I will not be going back there… nor any of my friends…

It’s difficult to review a club, because the popularity and liking always depends on the music, night, crowd and DJ. The location is indeed pretty nice, close to the freeway and quite spacious. If you’re looking for a classy ambiance than you need to keep looking. 1015 Folsom has several rooms, the layout is super simple nothing fancy but makes is easy for you to go from room to room. I think the sound system is not the best, but other than that it’s great.

If you’re going to a sold out event that is selling tickets at the door, don’t buy from people selling their tickets for waaaaay over the presale price. The price at the door will be at least the cost of the last presale price(for example, I saw some people selling tickets for $ 45 – 100 for Gareth Emery even though last presale price was $ 30. At the door, the tickets were $ 30). Whether you have a ticket or nah, you have to stand in the same line… so save money and buy me a meal instead. You’re welcome. I may regret writing this review if I ever decide to sell any tickets. Oh and this place gets really crowded and hot, but… if those things bother you, then that just means you haven’t drank enough(cash only bar btw). Also the security guards will forever have a place in my heart for being homies and coming to my rescue when a guy was super aggressively trying to get at me.

Club reviews are pretty much useless, but I saw 1015 had only 2.15 stars so I had to step in. The best part about 1015 Folsom is the audio quality — absolutely fantastic sound system and unlike most clubs, the volume isn’t painfully loud. I can only comment on Fridays at 1015, as those tend to feature EDM artists, particularly house music. They’ve done a good job to attract several great DJs and the crowd is usually very friendly and wants to have a good time. I also love that 1015 has so many rooms to hang out. If you find the main room too crowded or loud, you can go upstairs to the balcony to watch from above, or explore the two lounges, where the music is quieter and you’ll have much more space to relax. Unlike most clubs, I found the bouncers at 1015 to be friendly and not jerks like most clubs. –1 star for only accepting cash at the bars.

This place is great! The floors are filled with sweat and alcohol so you might slip and see jesus at some point on the dance floor. A shot of anything cost $ 10, what a steal! Did I mention this venue only does cash at the bar? How convenient! But here’s the best part, their ventilation system seems to be non-existent! So if you like dancing in a room with no fresh air but rather steamy hot air, this is the place for you! 10⁄10 would visit again! /s

Recommendation: Plentiful and helpful staff. Great sound quality and coverage. The lighting was okay but wasn’t spectacular. Fills quickly! I went here a short while ago to take pictures of the free Trap City night, which kicked off at 10pm on the schedule. I arrived to a long line and a large amount of eager people! Upon entry, I was greeted by a nicely finished front room with a multicolored illuminated ceiling and a DJ booth at one end. Speakers lined each side of the dance floor, mounted from the ceiling. Doing a walkaround, I found that the speaker coverage was quite good, with listening levels being acceptable from almost every point in the room. However, I found that the front room’s low ceiling was a bit restrictive and made the space feel smaller than it was. The DJ booth was also hard to see, as it was only elevated a foot or two off the ground. The moving lights were also not really utilized, which left the scene a little boring. However, at 11 the staff opened the main room to the public, which allowed the audience to thin out a little and spread out between the two rooms. The second room had a higher ceiling(30 feet) which allowed for the haze to propagate and a laser/light show to better envelop the room. There was a good mix of strobes, spotlights, different colors of light, and lasers. The speaker systems also had visualization projections running on them which added to the movement of the lights. The speakers were excellent, and I didn’t detect any of the harshness or other audio issues some other reviewers complained about. I wish the main projection screen had been used a bit more, but it was still entertaining. All in all, I think this is a pretty decent club! There wasn’t too much of an issue with any one person or thing, and the audience seemed well-behaved and energetic. I would like to go again!

Went here to watch Soulection for my friend Sam’s birthday! The venue is a lot bigger than I expected. There are 3 – 4 dance floors. There’s one right when you enter, one upstairs, one in the back, and i think one downstairs. by 11 pm all of the dance floors were packed which was a good sign. I like how there are plenty of bathrooms which means shorter lines and I like how there are bars at each dance floor. The only downside for me was the drinks… they were weak! I’ve had stronger drinks with less ice that cost less at Temple SF. One thing that this place has is a balcony and a photobooth! Awesome for making memorable nights and with all of the different dance floors, there’s a lot of space which is a plus. Security was pretty chill and there was plenty of street parking. Overall, good experience.
