We were on our way home from Miami to NC and wanted something other than fast food. So using the Unilocal app we came across this restaurant. It’s not much to look at as far as décor and ambiance but the food was good and the price was right. We especially enjoyed the egg rolls. Crispy and delicious.

Server made me feel rushed. Food tasted good, but was cold. We were the only table at 3pm. No reason to hurry us along.

my husband and I were traveling south with a nite in Santee. It was a Sunday and we needed dinner. We found the Peking Restaurant. We did takeout and order from the combination menu. We waited only 10 min for our meal. The portions were ample, the veges fresh and shrimp succulent. Hot and sour soup, though lacking wood ear, was seasoned in a manner that was just slightly hot. Though the restaurant was empty when we walked in to order, take outs were streaming thru. I recommend it as an alternative to some of the pricer places around. Note that the other Asian restaurant is closed on Sunday

We just had dinner in this establishment, and it is undoubtedly the most unsanitary, disgusting, dirty restaurant I have ever seen. EVERYTHIng in the dining room is sticky, and covered in old crusted oily food residue. We walked in and there were 5 tables uncleaned and piled with dirty dishes, and they were never cleaned off. We thought that a large group had just left, but the tables were never cleaned. The drinks were warm which made me question if their coolers were working, and when we asked for ice — they brought 4 cubes in a glass, which made me think that they were keeping a limited quantity in in a cooler or something… This was the outside restaurant where people eat. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like. No one should eat in this restaurant, ever. As for the food, the one star is for the dumplings. They were good, truly– thick, doughy skin characteristic of the best pot stickers. In addition, my son ordered the fried chicken wings, which were also good. Plump, crispy and piping hot. EVERYTHING else, however was horrific. The sweet and sour soup was salty. Made with regular ingredients like button mushrooms, carrots, and green peppers instead of the proper ingredients such as lichen, shiitake, bamboo, etc… And WAy too much vinegar. When I asked for the Kung pao to be made extra spicy, I was told that they don’t use hot chilies to cook with– only green bell peppers, and to add spice they only use chili oil… My first clue, and the point when I should have left. Honestly, Santee is a disgusting choice for a meal, but if you have to eat there– I suggest grabbing some chips and a soda at the Citgo.

Typical Chinese food – portion was nicely sized and my beef with vegetables actually came with a nice amount of beef. I’m not dying to go back, but it would hit the spot if I needed a take out fix. Also, the fried rice isn’t fried as much as it is colored to not look like white rice. A little flavorless.
