I really like La Salsa, I think it’s the best mexican chain out there. I also like that they grill everything in front of you. However it is a chain so the fish is flimsy and the shrimp tastes really cheap. But what can you do? The owner is not gonna go all out. Other than that it is good and I go every so often. I swear when I’m there they never have to throw any of the salsa out. I go up for pico de gallo like 5 times. I don’t think they like me there because of it.

Still gets 4 stars because I really love La Salsa food, and I do eat here often because I don’t know of better fast food in the area(it should be noted I don’t eat at Roberto’s type places so those don’t count in my assessment here). Have to dock a star because La Salsa’s really like to burn the meat a little — crunchy carbonized bits. Kinda annoying. Otherwise good. (Note: this review edited late 2009 b/c food changed a little for the better when it went back to being a corporate owned store — was previously a franchise store…)

Went here becuase we were in the area. La Salsa is ok. My favorite thing to get is the overstuffed grilled burrito with steak. It has some spicy habanero cheese sauce in there and its a pretty solid burrito. I do like how they grill the steak right in front of you and its out in the open. You know they arent hacking up the cow in the back and then serving it to you. Good selection of a salsa bar. Their avocado salsa is pretty tasty. Pretty clean place but the reason it gets only 3 stars is the price. 20 bucks for lunch is not cheap. The food is 4 star worthy but the value is not the best. Overall an ok place to get a bite to eat if you are in Santee Town Center.
