Ya’ll, seriously check this place out. Prior to today I had only stepped foot in here once to buy a gift card for someone, but today I was in the same parking lot and decided to try it out. Oh my word, yum. We ordered three platters; barbecue chicken, beef, and pork, as well as one spam musubi and it fed 7 of us, plus we have a lot of leftovers. Price, taste, and service are all great!

Waited 25 minutes for my MINI bbq plate. About 5 or 6 customers after me got their orders before me. 25 minutes tho? Disappointing.

Stopped in on a whim for take out. The food was so delicious, and the man behind the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable. He helped guide us to the perfect dishes for our appetites. We will definitely be back.

Came in and ordered a mini chicken katsu, a spam musubi and a BBQ chicken musubi. The chicken katsu and the spam musubi are fine but the BBQ chicken was a joke this time around. The chicken only covered less than half the length of the entire musubi, so I mostly got rice wrapped in seaweed. So disappointing.

The guy at the cash register was so nice and friendly! The spice ahi poke is super good. A little high in price for the quantity but worth it for the seasonings and kick of spice. They have a great beer section(minus the crappy budlight and shock top but I know they have to do business) so I will have to come back after work some time!

Mouth watering. If you have never eaten at this L&L you need to get up and go there NOW! Service is great and friendly. Monday’s are $ 1 Masubi’s. I don’t eat fried chicken so when I crave it, I prefer chicken katsu. Man, the size of the plates you get can serve as lunch and dinner. This location definitely gets 2 thumbs up from 2 fluffy foodies.

Great food, and great prices. The mac salad is the bomb. I had the sample plate and everything was delicious. Chicken, beef, or ribs. I recommend it all.

Love this please, specially the food, delicious, tasty, lots for your money, flavors are just perfect, I’m in love with the macaroni salad, just like in hawaii, same flavor. Nice and clean, very polite with the customers.

OKOK… Hawaiian BBQ… Most folks rave about the Hawaiian BBQ, the chicken katsu, Mac salad, etc… Those are pretty common dishes. Just like broccoli beef, and orange chicken in a Chinese food place! Let’s talk about what islanders really look for… POKEBOWL– ewww… It’s bland, not traditionally seasoned, and the RAW fish sits on top HOT rice! Come on L&L!!! If your going to serve this MAKEITRIGHT!!! THOSEOFUSWHOLIKEPOKELIKEOURFISHRAW, RAW, RAW! RAREPOKEISJUSTSIMPLY D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G! ****Stars in how it looks though. LAULAU– Served only on FRIDAYS. I cant figure out why this is since its just heated up from frozen o. o I purchased 10 orders. DRYDRYDRY is the meat on the inside… Almost jerky like in texture. While the outer leaves are already peeled away(boo), it is not at all lacking leaves which is my favorite part! ? Couldn’t find the fish(although some parts tasted fishy… Eww) ? Could find that«melt in your mouth» fatty piece of meat… AREWETRYINGTOMAKELAULAUHEALTHY??? If so then say that! So that I know the intensity, and degree the disappointments will be! DID I MENTIONTHATTHEISLANDELDERSWILLNOTHESITATETO «BACKHAND» USFORSERVINGTHEMTHISSTUFF??? End result of all 10 orders of lau lau. We just ate the leaves o. o and threw away that grey-green jerky like ball of meat that came with it! Mahalo!

If I could solely make this review based on the macaroni salad it would have at least gotten 4 stars. Sadly I must base my ratings on the over all experience. I thought I was getting the Katsu chicken but they apparently wanted to give me «Surprise» meat. When I bit into the chicken it didn’t taste like chicken and when I looked inside of it, it was red meat and there were sections that weren’t cooked at all. I shivered a little bit and ate around the un-cooked parts.(I know I know, I should have put in the title that this would partially be a horror review with nail biting moments but I like the surprise suspense!) In reality I’m pretty sure they gave me pork and the way it was breaded was really good but that was the only good thing about it. The macaroni salad looked pretty boring but when I bit into it I couldn’t help but get happy. Finally something decent this place gave me to recover from the horrors of the mystery/surprise/uncooked meat. When I moved to the last thing on my plate which was the sticky white rice it tasted about an hour old. It wasn’t stale and hard but it wasn’t fresh. I poured the sauce they gave me with my meal over the rice(I have no earthly idea what the sauce is called) and it tasted much better. After my experience I went to work. Within a half an hour I began to get a horrible sick feeling that I’ve had before… the sick feeling I get right after I would eat Mcdonalds(which is why the only reason I go to Mcdonalds is for their fries and ice cream) all the sudden I was sick through out my entire shift and I had to visit the ladies room quiet a few times(sorry for the tmi) Over all it reminds me of the Hawaiian version of Panda Express. Where it’s overly expensive and tastes like normal crappy fast food. What’s even worse is it gives you a stomach ache like McDonald’s gives. The stomach ache didn’t go away till after I went to bed that day. So if you’re like me that doesn’t like Panda Express or McDonald’s chances are you won’t like it here.

Dropped by l&l tonight and got my usual bbq chicken plate. Wasn’t quite as good as it usually is. Prior to tonight I don’t think I’ve had a bad meal here but they definitely need to step it up a little. Other than that, clean lobby, friendly service. Only complaint is the food tonight.

L&L is one of my favorite places to eat at. This specific location has courteous employees, that’s what the 2 stars are for, but the FOOD is why I’m going there. The food at this Santee location has not met the standards to what I’m used to in an L&L the katsu sauce is sometimes watery sometimes like solidified gelatin the katsu chicken sometimes hot sometimes cold, over fried most of the time. The bbq chicken here doesn’t get cleaned properly, it has lots of the fat on it. The veggies on the bowls are so over streamed the Christians have deemed it sinful. I would eat here more often but I can’t remember L&L this way. Hope they fix it, because I heart L&L a lot!

Really disappointed with this restaurant. After 10 min of eating their food i had a stomach ache. I had the half n half kalua pork and bbq beef. Kalua lacked of the smoky taste and bbq beef was very dry and burnt with lots of fat and just really hard to eat. Mac salad tasted like nothing and rice looked like a day old. I worked for a L&L years ago so I know how good the food can be if done right. Restaurant is clean and friendly cashier but that’s all that is going for this restaurant.

L&Ls is like the Hawaiian McDonald’s. I’m sure that you can find better Hawaii food at other places but that doesn’t mean that it’s not yummy and quick. This location is really nice. A few TVs with sports on and the music isn’t too loud. The customer service was very nice. I was greeted with a smile when I arrived and my order was taken promptly. They have beer on tap if Ya want a quick brewski. Oh and if you are having a party and don’t feel like cooking a bunch of food just call them. Get some party plates… BBQ beef and the macaroni salad is really good here too.

A little bit of Aloha! Right down to the cashier being a local guy from Hawaii. Tried the Ramen Burger. Interesting! Fried ramen patties were in place of the bun. And a burger with Teriyaki sauce. Not so bad. They have a good selection of TV’s to watch a lil football and have a pitcher os Kona Brew beer. The beers have happy hour pricing. This location is pretty clean. And has a little island vibe. I am happy to have another place to grab some Ono Hawaiian food.

Okay, the Hawaiian food I had at L&L Midway was so good, I had to go the next day, so I rolled up on Santee L&L… Man the place was empty, heard crickets playing the ukulele, just kidding, but. ordered some more grinds… It was good, the place had a different vibe over Midway, but Midway seemed a little more authentic… Either way, if you are in a pinch for Hawaiian food, this place with definitely do, especially with the friendly service.
