Pizza Shack

Visiting the solvang area and read reviews on area pizza places… decided on Pizza Shack and we were so glad we did. They were some of the best pizzas we’ve ever had! Want to go back as soon as possible and try more. We didn’t want to so eating!

They have great pizza, perhaps best in valley, however, they made a recent change that is rather disappointing in that they no longer needs medium pizzas therefore the only two choices is small and large.

The Pizza Shack isn’t perfect but it’s far better than average. When factoring in affordability, this family friendly, locally owned restaurant is hard to beat. The menu and food quality are both better and more sophisticated than you might expect from a pizza place. The staff are friendly, competent and they aim to please.

Nice place great pizza — you can’t go wrong. Good beer on tap as well. Plenty of open parking.

The pizza was very good. Our service was very nice and it was not very crowded when we went for a late lunch. Cool décor!

Found this place on my way to camping with my fabulous family, service was awesome and friendly! Pizza was delicious! I have nothing bad to say about this place, even the restrooms are super clean! Mini arcade was a plus, plenty of space and seating, beer on tap, loved it all! :)

Went for lunch having heard good things about the Pizza Shack, unfortunately did not live up to what I had been told. Ordered the lunch special which was a single topping personal pizza, a salad and a drink for 8.50. Also ordered a basket of bread sticks. The salad was mixed greens, one cherry tomato cut in half, two thinly sliced cucumber pieces and a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese. It was good and just the right size to go with the pizza. The pizza was not good although for the price you pay for the special it is what you should expect. It was very greasy and tasted like a frozen pizza. The breadsticks were really good. Hot with a good covering of garlic, salt and dried herbs. Counter service was friendly. I would order the salad with a breadstick if I ever come back but will not go back for the lunch special pizza.

I love this place. I travel frequently to the SY Valley and sometimes spend the night for work, so have some odd choices for food. These guys are my go-​to for lunch or a quick delivered dinner to the hotel room. The service is very friendly and cheerful, and I SO appreciate that. Inside the restaurant is pleasant and clean, and the delivery is pretty quick and the pizza is still (gasp!) hot when it arrives. Salads are comprised of actual green leaf and romaine lettuce, not iceberg/​cabbage filler. Dressings are yum! The pizza is really tasty (have had both regular and gluten-​free crusts) and to me that’s because the ingredients have always seemed very fresh, and the dough handmade. Go here when you’re in the Valley!

Great pizza. Extremely clean restaurant. Wonderful service. The salads are wonderful and fresh. Nice place to have lunch and watch some tv or play some ms PAC man.
They also have beer on tap.

My son and I had a great meal. I had Lasagna which was huge!!! filled with lovely Italian sausage and cheese — just the way it should be. My son had a great little pizza with delicious crust that was not too thin to too thick. They just opened a whole new other eating section with a little arcade room at the back which were not to my liking — much too violent for my 7 year old but they were cheap to play. I suggest putting an air hockey table or similar at the back.
Very friendly service and the the owner came over and asked if everything was ok which was nice.
Will go back for sure.

I had a hard time finding this place since they did not have a sign up. I believe they just got done with some remodeling. I ordered the lunch special of salad and personal pizza. Salad had fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and balsamic dressing and was delicious. There pizza was good with fresh toppings also. I have a new favorite lunch place for Santa Ynez!

This place is fantastic for takeout. We had the Pesto Primavera, which was so good I would drive all the way back to Santa Ynez for it, and the Greek Salad, which was less rapturous but decent all the same. There is just something about the combination of the Pesto /​Artichoke Hearts /​Sun dried Tomatoes and Feta Cheese that wins all taste buds over instantly. Not a good place for a sit down dinner, but yes to the best takeout in the area!

Great pizza… best in Valley that does delivery

Good pizza for a small town. My only suggestion is to not order the BBQ Chicken Pizza.

We didn’t have pizza, so I can’t comment on that, but the pesto pasta ravioli was really good. They also had some good local craft brews on tap which is always a plus when dining out in an new area.
The only reason it’s not a 5 star rating is that the décor and ambiance of the place was pretty drab. I would go back again to sample the pizza and other pasta dishes.
