This mexican restaurant is a little hard to time but worth it! It’s tucked away in the back of a very small strip shopping center. It isn’t fancy; maybe a little hold in the wallish. I was looking for a small plate, so I ordered a Al Pastor taco. They served it with a basket of chips and salsa, all for under $ 3. The BBQ pork was crispy and full of flavor. It was balanced with fresh chopped onion and cilantro. It’s one of the best tacos I’ve had. I would highly recommend Taqueria Las Palmas.

They serve consistently great tacos and burritos. Chips are good. I love the carnitas here. Staff always friendly they love me :) from what I’ve seen of their combo dishes they are healthy portions. The mole is spicy but not my fav. Carnitas burrito or 4 tacos with any combination of their meat it’s all good! Nice to have cervezas here as it gets hot hot hot! When I drive back to SR I think of this Mexican place! And I’ve been to a few. This one is the best I’ve had. Try it and repeat! I love it. Que Rico!

Who I assume is the owner, is suuuper rude. We were looking for a place to eat and pulled over to check this place out and see what they had to offer on Unilocal. We weren’t there for more than 3 minutes when this guy(pictured) came out to yell at us to not park in front of the restraunt. Really?! Great way to chase off prospective customers! Needles to say we didn’t stick around. As we turned out of the area to leave we got to see him chase off another car, angrily yelling then posting himself at the door to shout at anyone else who parked nearby and at us again as we drove off. If that is the welcome you get before even racing the door I do not need to know anything more to know I certainly will NEVER eat here!

Great carnitas and decent pastor. The carnitas is nice and crunchy. Definitely get some of their habanero salsa on the side. It’s legitimately hot(and I know hot) so be careful with it. Try a smidgen on your first bite to judge how you feel about the heat and adjust accordingly. Two super tacos here is a legit meal size wise.

Great local taqueria. Slightly pricier than other taquerias around but the food is also tastier. The veggie burrito is delicious with generous serving of seasoned veggies — this is a good litmus test as most veggie burritos lack much flavor apart from cilantro and onions. Theirs is a nice saucy flavor that makes me want to eat the whole burrito in one sitting. It’s also refreshingly non-gourmet.

MMMMM! That grilled chicken quesadilla though! The guacamole was super fresh and delish! The helping was really big and the service friendly! Hat’s off to the chef’s chopping it up in the kitchen. only gave it 4 stars because like other reviews, there was only 7 chips in our bag as well. Other than that… I’ll be back!

Taqueria Las Palmas is consistently the best Mexican food in town. Their super burrito, super quesadilla, and tacos are always perfect! I’ve never had a negative experience. The employees are extremely friendly and the kitchen and grill are super clean :) yum!

Awful. Salty. Low quality meat. One person in our group found a pubic hair in her food. I usually love hole in the wall taquerias, but this place is terrible

Aye, definitely me favorite local taco shoppe! After a long adventure at sea plundering — me scurvy bones need a bounty of good grub. Las Palmas is a port in the storm of me hunger. The blackened fish tacos are a treasure and the Al Pastor Burrito get’s me wooden leg a tappin’ with joy! Two Hooks up!

Eat here. We have been on a road trip(2400 miles so far with another 1000 to go) for the last 7 days. This was just what we needed. Excellent and authentic Mexican food with fair prices. I had the Carne Plato. The portions were large and the tortillas were the best I’ve had since our exchange student from Mexico made them for us 20 years ago. The carne was tender and flavorful. Others in our party ordered the nachos and shared their order. Again, large portions. The taco salads looked delicious and my «never full» husband couldn’t finish it all(not for lack of trying). If you like heat, order the habenero paste. Go here now. Don’t think twice. You won’t regret it.

The Good. The carnitas tacos and spicy shrimp tacos are excellent probably some of the best Carnitas I have had. The BAD. They are super stingy with their chips. I ordered to go for me and my family of 3, I ordered 6 carnitas tacos. Got home and there was a paper bag with, no joke 7 – 8 chips in it. I went back and they told me I had to pay extra for more chips. They had all the tacos in one styrofoam container which was fine because its better for the environment. So a few months later I decided to give em another try. This time I was ordering for 5 people. When I placed my order over the phone I let them know I was expecting chips for 5 people, sure enough when I got the order home there were only three bags of chips. And these bags of chips were like before miniature 7 – 8 chips each. I also ordered a Rice Bean and cheese Buritto and found that it was 99% Rice with 1% beans. Stop being so stingy with your chips and beans!!! The food for the most part is excellent but not so good with skimpy chips and If you like Rice burritos just order a beans and rice:)

What a glorious place. When I am given the death penalty, I will request my last meal to be shrimp tacos from Las Palmas. They aren’t on the menu but you need to ask for shrimp tacos. And when I die, I will again return to Las Palmas. Heaven forever. This is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

I got the carne asada tacos and a horchata. Definitely authentic Mexican cuisine. Good flavor.

I always get a smug little giggle when I come to this place on a weekend morning for the best Huevos Rancheros in town. While I enjoy breakfast, I watch the poor tourists and uninformed locals who wait for hours outside of 2 neighboring higher– end restaurants. Those restaurants are great too– don’t get me wrong. But if you knew that just a short walk away is some of the best, authentic Mexican food at a much lower price– would you really keep waiting out in the cold? Chilaquiles and Huevos for breakfast. The usual tacos, burritos, etc. but with flavorful carnitas, al pastor and carne asada. I’m a bit of a Mexican food snob– and Las Palmas is one of the best in Santa Rosa. Join me! The food is great and the insider’s view from«the hole in the wall» taqueria is so fun!

My first visit today was great at Taqueria Las Palmas. I had a late lunch and decided to try the shrimp enchiladas with verde sauce with rice and beans. My food arrived and it looked totally fresh, it tasted very authentic and had great seasoning. The portion was fantastic, I even had to take half of my plate home and have it for dinner. Very pleasantly surprised with my meal & I will for sure return to try another dish.

There is a reason people love this place on Unilocal!!! This is one of my top 5 Mexican dives. Excellent home made tortillas. I usually order the fish tacos. They’re not on the menu. You have to ask for them. I have never had a disappointing experience. Friendly staff. Fast service. Ohhh… and if you like things HOT, then ask for the special habanero paste behind the counter.

I rolled up with an Über waiting outside with 1 thing on my mind: MOLE What they delivered was nothing short of awesome; tender boneless chicken, just-right mole suitable for a voracious western burrito aficionado like myself and good sides. Their rice and beans are exactly how I like them: simple, perfectly salted, fluffy rice and simple beans– the consummate comfort food. I’ve long known this place as a goto for 5-star carnitas tacos, now it’s my #1 for mole. The only thing blocking these contenders from a 5-star rating is their salsa game and rounding out their all-around menu quality. It’s no wonder this place stays busy.

I’ve wanted to go to this place for a couple years but never made it a point to go. So last Sunday after swimming in the morning — all of the breakfast and brunch spots were packed — like mother’s day packed, this place came up as nearby on my Unilocal app so it was time to go. It’s a small quiet place — plenty of seating, generally what you expect in terms of atmosphere when you go to a Taqueria(no frills). The menu is very reasonably priced and the food is outstanding. Old school home cooking — everything was delicious, even the rice. I chose the Chilaquiles with eggs, you can also have it with your choice of meat. It was about 10 bucks and really fantastic. They start you with an amuse bouchee of home made tortilla chips and very delicious home made salsa. Mild or Spicy.
