Candis if very difficult and has to big an ego to be a stylist her opinion always gets in the way of what I want done with my hair!!! Word to the wise

I love Special Effects! Frances does my hair and everyone else’s in my family, she’s the only woman who has ever cut my hair. Frances is amazing– she knows exactly how to cut and style my hair just to how I like. She is quick and so sweet. Thank you Frances!

Five stars is not enough. I’ve been seeing Frances for 25ish years and I won’t let anyone else cut my hair. She recently did my wedding hair and I was in love with it. Heather is a sweetheart and did an awesome job on my wedding makeup. I love all of the stylists here. Very highly recommend

Today was the first time I have ever tried this salon. I love everything about it. When I called they were very nice. And when I got there the owner showed me where the waiting area was. I made myself some tea while I was waiting. Than my hair stylist approached me and she was very nice. She sat down with me and I was telling her what I wanted. She was very polite. The whole time we were chatting and laughing. Everytime I go to try different salons I always leave upset. Either the hair stylist was rude or I didn’t like how my hair ended up. But I can truly say I loved this place. Alicia took her time. She also didn’t rush. She made sure I was comfty. The work she did on my hair was the best I have ever had. I found the right place. Thank you Alicia!

I’ve been going here for 15 years now, wow! Came in for a box hair color rescue with Francis back when I was in junior high and she worked miracles. Perms, cuts, and colors of all kinds — we’ve gone through a lot of styles over the years. She continues to keep me looking and feeling beautiful!
Recently started going to Heather for eyebrow waxing, and she is a master! Everyone at the salon is so warm and friendly. It’s a great space. There is always some coffee to sip while flipping through good magazines too.
It’s really a pleasure to come in and I always recommend it to everyone who has asked me about my hair over the years — thanks for everything!

I just moved to Santa Rosa and needed a great stylist. I am now a permanent customer of Heather’s.She was so sweet and caring. I explained that I wanted violet hair and she made some calls to get a formula and I absolutely love it. That was really above and beyond. Plus she gave my hair a treatment and it looks so healthy.

Upon the recommendation of a friend I came to Katie Land to tame my unruly curly hair. I liked her so much I came back to this salon for my wedding day hair and makeup. At first I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted, but both Katie and Heather were amazingly patient and helpful. On the day of my wedding, they were there bright and early setting up, and everything turned out beautifully. My hair and makeup was perfect! And the bridesmaids looked radiant. Heather was even nice enough to fit in a last minute eye lash extension for my MOH (Heather did such an excellent job with my lashes, we had to get the same for my sister :)
I highly recommend this salon for everything from everyday hair care to hair and makeup for special events.

[My wife goes here and loves it so asked if she could review it on my account since she doesn’t have an account. She doesn’t have an account because for the most part we go to the same places, hair salons being an exception! Here is her report]:
(I’m 36 and have a short hair style) I love this place and have had both Heather and Candace cut my hair. I used to have a great stylist but she moved away over 10 years ago. Since then I have been in and out of salons and constantly disappointed. I met Candace at our kids’ school as a fellow parent and found out that she did some of the teacher’s hair, they looked great, so I wanted to give her a try. She was the first stylist to understand what I wanted and did a great job the first try. I have been going to her regularly for 2 years now and in that time she has done a few different cuts, each one perfectly done without weird spots popping up the next day. Once, when she was on vacation, Heather did my hair and she, too, did a superb job!
Candace is quite chatty in a pleasant way and very professional, you can tell she has been doing this for a long time by the way she is able to do almost anything to your hair. She is also the first person to tell me the right way to brush my hair so that it doesn’t create «wings.» I am so happy I found this place and the prices are great. They also don’t put a bunch of gunk in your hair without asking, something I really value.

I love Heather! I do hair for special events as well and it’s so much fun to talk to someone with a lot of experience who shares the same love and passion for what she does. Plus she’s so kind and amazing at layering hair.
