Sapphire Salon

I feel that finding the perfect hair stylist is just as hard as finding a soul-​mate. I have an under-​shave (hair above my neck is shaved up to my ears) and since that is the easiest thing ever, I use that as my in to gauge a salon– how much did they charge? How nice was the stylist? Did they cut further into my hairline eventually making my shave creep higher?
Tammie was awesome! Not only was she done in what seemed like three quick swipes (I’ve had others fuss for 8 mins and cut into my hair line) this buzz was ON THE HOUSE! I came back a few weeks later for another nape shave, bang trim and had her fix the botch job a previous stylist had done (simple layers, all I wanted was simple layers!) Tammie gave me these lovely little layers that framed my face perfectly, just like the picture I showed her and did the rest of my head without taking anymore length beyond the fried ends, just as I had requested. She also cut the layers so that if I wear my hair wavy/​curly, it’ll still look cute.
FYI– my hair is naturally wavy, super-​thick (hence the under-​shave) and COARSE! I did come in with it pre-​washed and straightened, so I’m sure that helped Tammie out but I could tell by her technique that she would have been able to deal with it either way.
Oh, and because I was pre-​washed and pre-​straightened, she gave me a discount on the cut!
I think I found my new girl!

Walking in the door was quite a surprise! This adorable and posh salon, nestled in the corner of the larkfield center is such a gem! I was starting to think that salon customer service was no longer existent… boy, was I wrong! I was greeted immediately with a smile and even while Andy/​Andi (not sure of the spelling, sorry) was multi tasking with another client and the ohone! :)) Instead of feeling like and interruption, I felt like a Queen! I was offered coffee and Amish banana bread, I had a seat on a luxurious sofa and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this salon! But the service… OUTSTANDING! I was having a rough day and just the people here turned it completely around with their good vibes and smiles! Plus treating me like and equal. I see and feel the hierarchy treatments and see them when I and nm not the one being treated this way in other salons, wineries… tasting rooms… and nm ll kinds of public places. This is the kind of treatment that makes a person want to come back! :)) I went for a Brazilian wax and ended up getting my legs waxed too. :) Next time I need my hair done, I know where I am going! Great find! Yessss! Plus I saw a great deal up… only $ 125 for a smoothing treatment! Woohoo! Most other salons are in the 300’s. If I wasn’t leaving for vacation tomorrow, I would be trying to get an appointment! Support your local businesses! This one is owned locally and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Definitely someone I feel good about supporting!

I’ve been going to Sapphire Salon for a few years now. Tilly is my hair stylist and has been for many years now. I live out of the area and travel 1 ½ hours to get my hair done here. She’s just that good! I am very picky about my hair and Tilly always seems to know and understand exactly what I am asking for. She works with me and my ever changing hairstyles and always accommodates beyond my expectations. She is very talented and creative, as well as friendly!
All of the girls in this shop are friendly and helpful! The environment is chic and cute! I definitely recommend Sapphire to anyone, in or out of the area, and especially MY GIRL Tilly!

Tammie is my girl. Wonderfully sweet, bubbly, but most importantly, very talented. She managed to tame my mess of hair that hadn’t been cut in almost two years. She’s the best.

Tammie has been my hair stylist for 14 years now. I moved out of the area 1 ½ years ago and wouldn’t consider finding a new stylist. I drive an hour and a half every six weeks to have Tammie work her magic on my hair. Her expertise with color is unmatched. My daughter moved to New Orleans and makes sure to get an appointment with Tammie every time she is in town. We love love love Tammie!

Christy is the only person I trust with my hair– She is AMAZING.
I have been going to her for years after struggling with other hair dressers. I have long, incredibly thick, wavy-​kinky weird hair that was such a mess. In the past I have gone to a range of salons to try and tame it and every single time I have come home in tears because people just butcher it.
Christy asks all of the right questions, she is patient and spends a lot of time trying to give me exactly what I want and charges half of what other salons charge, if that. She’s incredibly nice and makes you feel comfortable. A few weeks ago I was really stressed and just wanted to do something for myself so I called up and she was able to fit me in the next day. The salon itself is really cute and sells good brands, although the products themselves are pretty expensive. The salon is stylish and well decorated– probably not very important but it has a nice, professional atmosphere.
I never want to go anywhere else to get my hair done. Christy does an incredible jobNot only was she able to cut my hair to make it manageable, which has been a huge problem in the past, she actually cut my hair so well I can finally say that I love my hair now. Highly recommended.

Tammie is the BEST Hairdresser ever! I am very particular, and have looked for such a long time. Then I found her here at Sapphire. I couldn’t be happier. I have long hair, and she got the color that I wanted just right. Plus, the products they have are fabulous. She is very sweet, and tries to do everything you want. She never fails to do the job right. Just fantastic! And I have been to the very expensive salons, and this is the best!

Tammie is the best hairdresser ever. I have followed her from one shop to another for 15 years. Sapphire is one of the nicest, friendliest salons. I highly recommend it.

First time customer at Sapphire and I left very happy.
My last hair appointment I had at a fancy (= EXPENSIVE) salon downtown was miserable (not Sapphire). For three hours the last time all I heard was HOW MUCH HAIR I HAVE… you don’t think I might know HOW MUCH HAIR I HAVE??? The girl bitched and complained about it the whole time and charged me an arm and a leg.
NOT AT SAPPHIRE SALON. Tanya did a GREAT JOB for a reasonable price. She never complained about how much hair I have, instead told me how nice my hair is :) Tanya was very professional but still very personable. I have already booked my next appointment and am looking forward to it.
Love that Sapphire is in my neighborhood and that I don’t have to worry about the meter-​maids downtown on parking meter duty. Because I have ALL THIS HAIR… it takes a while to do. I don’t want to be having to run out and feed the meter with my color on :)
Reasonable rates and they are OPEN on Mondays. Most salons are closed on Mondays but I always find myself wanting appts on Mondays… so yay!

Tammie is the best stylist ever! I moved up from the South Bay a little over a year ago and found great reviews of Tammie when she had her own salon. She since moved to Sapphire and even though it is much further for me, I continue to go to her.
She really looks at face shape, hair texture, etc and knows just how to cut your hair. She does a great job with color as well. I even ended up bringing all four of my kids to her. One has the most unique and difficult hair ever, and Tammie has known exactly what to do to it. She looks great and loves her hair.
You won’t go wrong having Tammie care for your hair. And her price is right too. Love her.
