Sandy’s Take & Bake Pizza

Ordered a medium Johnny special and medium half Hawaiian and pepperoni. Pizzas were delicious! Can’t believe this restaurant is around the corner and we’ve never ordered from here! Definitely coming back!

Sandys has never had the best costumer service. Just one example, my boyfriend and I just went for an afternoon bike ride to get a milkshake after dinner. We waited in line, ordered, and proceeded to wait for our milkshake. About 5 mins later the girl who took our order came out to tell us that she went to make the milkshake but her boss (the owner) stopped her and said to give the money back because they were to busy to make a milkshake…
Uhmmmmmm too busy to serve a costumer? And with a small job that would take 2 minutes? That’s the most stupid thing I have ever heard a restaurant owner say. and I have been in food service for a while!
I say thumbs down for this place! Try NY Pie. Better service, better food, and they serve slices WHENEVER you want HOWEVER you want! Much better.

Great quick option for pizza at home. We had a medium with artichoke hearts and sausage that fed three adults well. Ingredients were high quality and the crust was perfect.

However, and this is a big however, every single time I’ve shown up at the time they TELL me to show up, it takes another 15 minutes or more for them to produce the pizza. Tonight, we came late by 10 minutes, knowing it would be late, and they told us it would take another 15 minutes. So, we came back, and it STILL wasn’t ready. Not like anybody else was there except for one man, and they made his WRONG. He’d been waiting for the same amount of time.
Then when they gave me my pizza, which I had asked to be baked by them, it had not been baked. So, ask yourself, what had they been doing for the previous 55 minutes since I ordered it?
I’m just about done with them.

Yesterday was my first time visiting Sandy’s Take and Bake Pizza. I went in and ordered a pizza and a salad. I asked how long it would take, and the guy said about 15 minutes. I asked what time it was because I had to pick up my child from school. It would be cutting it close to school dismissal so I said I would come back and pick it up. The guy said he could get it done in less than 5 minutes. and he did! He was SO nice and I really appreciated him making sure I could get my order quickly so I didn’t have to come back.
Also the pizza (I ordered the Chicken Gourmet) and the salad were really good! My whole family loved it.

Best gluten free pizza hands down. This place is a real winner if you enjoy having pizza at home and don’t mind preheating the oven before you head out to grab the pies.
We love the Greek and Pear w/​wine thingy (can’t recall the name).

I called in a pizza and they said it would take 15 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and the pizza was not ready to be picked up. I waited another 5 – 10 minutes.
If you don’t get the baking pan, it comes on cardboard loaded with flour or cornstarch. It was so much, that when I was sliding it off onto my pizza stone, it got all over the place. It was not pleasant.
I ordered the Chicken Gourmet with pesto. Pizza flavor was bland. It had some flavor, but not as much as I expected. I think there were too many mushrooms on it, made the crust soggy after cutting.
The value is very low, the price is quite a lot for the size of pizza you get.

We (a family of 7 adults) ordered 3 large (½ of each kind) pizzas after working all day building a chicken coop. We had to barbeque the pizzas because of lack of oven and were all delighted with all 5 choices!

I’ve been going to Sandy’s for years now, and prefer this place to any other pizza place in Santa Rosa.
The fact that they’re willing to bake the pizza extra crispy for me is a bonus

I had my first experience with Sandy’s Take and Bake a few days ago and I will definitely be back. The young lady at the counter was helpful and friendly.
The pizza was ready when promised (I ordered almost two hours before I wanted to pick it up). My friends and I agreed that it was a very tasty. All of the ingredients were fresh, the right amount of sauce, cheese, etc.
The only reason I would give four stars instead of five is that it was a bit pricy… $ 22 for a large with three toppings.

Edited to add I tried to speak to the manager/​owner about their gluten free issues. HE HUNG UP ON ME. This restaurant is a mess. Never going back.
They sell gluten free crusts but no one on the staff knows what is in the sauces. Is it gluten-​free? No one in the shop knows. All I could find out was that one sauce MIGHT have sour cream and/​or mayonnaise. So this is a terrible place if you have any special food needs. I left without any pizza and am not a happy camper.

My husband’s favorite is the Santa Fe and mine is the Greek but there’s lots more to choose from from traditional to innovative. Haven’t had anything I didn’t like. There’s a great lunch special that my boys stop in for, two large slices and a soda for $ 6. They also have ice cream, soda, salads and a fun selection of retro and contemporary candy. Plus the owner John is a really great guy and customer service is always a priority. It’s got a neighborhood feel and the prices are reasonable. We like to have them bake our pizza for an extra $.

We now live in San Diego and have been looking for a new Sandy’s but is has not happen yet, and I am not feeling to optimistic. Sonoma county people please understand how great this place is, it’s top shelf. We had to make a quick trip back up there (funeral) and my wife and I didn’t even question where to go for the one night we were there. Yes it’s that good. I just wanted to say We miss you very bad. Thanks.

My husband and I were big fans of Sandys for several years but the last two times we have ordered the wholesome veggie pizza it has been terrible. The crust has been very hard, thin and crunchy, we had them cook it, and the toppings were less than half of what they used to put on the pizza. We were so disappointed this last time that we took a photo so we could show the owner. I decided to call and let the owner know our experience. He was nice enough on the phone and apologized letting us know the next pizza would be on him. I thanked him and told him how many people I have referred over the years. Tonight I went in and introduced myself and was excited to try and get a great pizza as we have in the past. The owner proceeded to say he wasnt interested in seeing my photo and that I should go somewhere else for my pizza because that is the way they make them here. I asked if he was serious and if he wanted to lose a customer. He said «yes». I left in shock and called everyone I know I have referred and asked them to please stop doing business there because customer service does not rate high on this owners list!!!

You know that feeling when you’re craving a really good ceasar salad? What about a really cheap and down and dirty Caesar? Im not talking about a masterpiece on a chilled plate. But simple with the tangy dressing and the crunchy dried sourdough bread or croutons? Fresh romaine? Their salad is this kind. And delicious.
This restaurant is part of that breed of take and bakes that we used to see 20 years ago. The rare candy seems to be from another era as well.
Everything takes a little bit of time hear. Bit worth the wait. The video store has VHS. We long ago got rid of ours, but the DVDs are cool. They have blu-​ray for rent too. And here’s the coolest part. We twice were one day late and they didn’t charge us.
A real gem in Santa Rosa. Solid.

Best take and bake I’ve ever had! It also better be because it cost over $ 20. If you can get over the price than you’ll enjoy this solid pizza. Pizzas are full of fresh ingredients and packed with flavor. I’ll be coming back after I hit the lotto.

Blue Hawaiian is our fav. And every couple of pizzas you buy, you get one ½ off. Also has Ice Cream, movie rentals, and a pretty good candy selection.

Sandy’s is the best! You can get a great pizza cooked or to take home.

My family and I couldn’t decide what to have for dinner and didn’t want to drive far. So we ended up at Sandy’s without any preconceived notion as to what their pizza was going to be.
We chose a large Sandy’s Own Combination: Pepperoni, Salami, Sausage, Onions, Olives, Bell Peppers, Mushrooms. This is pretty similar to what we normally order at Mary’s, but this was ABOVE AND BEYOND all expectation!
The place smelled great… always a good sign. The wait time between ordering and picking up the order was about 20 minutes… not too bad for a Saturday evening. Second thing we noticed was how heavy the pizza was. It weighs a ton! We got it home and dug in. (Although it’s called «Sandy’s Take and Bake», they will bake your pizza for an extra dollar. Totally worth it.) The pizza is over an inch thick, closer to two inches, from topping to bottom of crust. The mushrooms were fresh (none of that awful canned stuff) and everything appeared to be chopped or crumbled by hand. The sauce was flavorful, but not overwhelming and the cheese was just melty and salty enough. It did the great stretching thing, but didn’t overwhelm the fresh toppings.
My one critique is that the crust could have been cooked a bit longer. I’m sure this would be done upon request or could have been a fluke. I will be returning to this place and plan on trying all their interesting combo pizzas. Delicious!

Have picked up pizza here for years and years and years. The dough is amazing, toppings are fresh, workers are super friendly and always have been, basically this is an awesome local business. I will always support this place over take-​n-​bake chains like Papa Murphys (gross!)
They have a video rental next door (same owner) so you can grab a pizza and a movie and have a nice night at home ;)
