Great Store! My sixteen-​year old son, who has a very unique old spirit, wanted the perfect black fedora. We went to Portobello to find it, and ended up with a fabulous Loden green that suited his complexion and hair colour perfectly. I had the lovely storekeeper put back a black fedora for me that I can stealthily purchase for him for Christmas. We’re so lucky to have such a wonderful store locally that carries such treasures.

These women know hats! They have several great designers and the collection of hats is stupendous. I’ve had experience there when a friend of mine had a hat/​veil combination made for her wedding. It was wonderful and the designer (Virginia) was totally responsive to her needs and tastes, making adjustments as needed. Then I bought a kit to make my own hat for the wedding and Virginia helped me customize it for the event.
A fun creative store where you are treated so well! They have great variety, vintage and new designs for both men and women.

I love Amy Smith’s hats! I own two of them now, and always get compliments on how classic and stylish they are, while being completely original. She has all her vintage and custom hats on display at Portobello Hats, and walking into the store makes you feel like you’ve just stepped into an attic full of treasures. I am constantly telling people about Amy’s hats, and am very happy that now they are accessible in such a central location.
