Lola’s Market is right next door to the restaurant. For the restaurant there is seating inside and out(roof covering with wooden picnic tables). I ordered a carnitas(pork) chimichanga and my hubby ordered a pork burrito. These are the biggest burritos/chimichangas we have ever ordered. We ate half and saved the rest for later. My chimichanga came with lettuce, sour cream and guacamole on the side. Joshua got his inside the burrito. The pork was tender and there was plenty of it! We enjoyed our huge chimichanga/burrito. Small hole in the wall restaurant with big flavor and size. :)

I’ve been going to the Sebastopol road location for a few years now. But, today was my first visit to the Petaluma hill road location. The place had nearly no customers, which was a nice change, as the Sebastopol rd. store is always packed with people. Both stores are neatly kept… My favorite part about both locations is the meat counter, and the produce section. They have lots of items that you just cannot find at you run of the mill American stores. For instance, you can get lots of different types of pre marinated meats. You can get chicken, or steak fajitas that are the best you’ll ever have! Or you can choose from al pastor(my personal /current favorite) or you can get steak ranchera… Which is essentially skirt steak with a really special fancy and extremely tasty marinade, that once grilled will make your friends and family think you studied culinary arts in Mexico!!! Also my favorite is the nopales pads they sell in the produce section. I love to get the de spiked /cleaned ones. I love to make nopales salad with them. Lola’s is a wonderful grocery store that can provide you with fantastic ingredients to make some very amazing Mexican food!!! I highly recommend shopping here if you wish to pick up some ingredients to make some authentic homemade Mexican food!

Decent place except that the meat area doesn’t handle meat safely. I had a bad experience with cross contamination. Our cheese had raw meat pieces on it from mishandling. Although the manager Carlos returned our money and apologized, this experience was a huge red flag.

I tried Lola’s first on Petaluma hill road then the Petaluma store/restaurant. It’s always very fresh and good. Like all the different salsas and the oregano red peppers on the table. Very delicious!

I loved that there was a restaurant attached to the store but when I went there the burrito I got was really weird! It had peas in it, corn(which is ok but still kind of weird) and I think even a piece of carrot? Among other strange ingredients. Also I live close enough that I am in here pretty often and every time I come in there are a few cashiers that do not say hi and barely look at me. I am 99% sure its simply because I am white but whatever. Its just frustrating when I say thanks and they STILL say NOTHING to me and wont even look me in the face! Besides them everyone working is super helpful and there are a few girls at the cash registers that are really nice! I can live off the fajitas and the meat market is really affordable. Plus their pastry section is sooooo good. Cant let a few bad eggs keep me away from good food and beer so all in all I can deal with it but I hate peas and the burrito to go sucked so I wont eat at the taqueria again most likely.

If you are an «anglo” — meaning, non Hispanic white person they are happy to take your money but don’t expect and friendly customer service. I’m sure they would prefer that us white people stay out of their stores. This message must come from their management and has propagated throughout both of their stores. Us white people are happy to take our business elsewhere, we have lots of other more friendly options out there.

The food here is always on point and the price is right. I’ve tried nearly the entire menu and everything is so delicious and authentic. This is one of my go to places for authentic Mexican food. This place is A definite must try if your in the area. They also have a nice sized salsa bar and great outdoor seating too. The staff is always polite and attentive.

This is hands down my favorite of the chain. The meat market is fantastic. I can get so many items at a great price, I can do all my meat shopping in one place AND the quality is phenomenal. The produce section here is wonderful too, but what really really really makes this one one step above — the restaurant and hot food section, some of the best mexican food to be had, and the fact that you can get their awesome sauces to go and then go home and enjoy them too… score!

Lola’s on Petaluma hill rd. It was so bad I have to say something. Walked in, there was dirty plates on like four tables. Floor looked like it hadn’t been swept in a while. Salsa bar looked good so I grabbed a little bit of everything. Too bad salsas were bland and tasted like water. The shredded chicken in the burrito was over cooked and gross. It had no flavor. By the time I got home, about five min drive, the burrito was so cold I had to microwave it. Will never eat here again. Not a good day for the cooks. But I have to say waitress lady was nice and asked if I wanted chips

I’d say this place was decent enough. I still give it five stars because as a Mahayana Buddhist who tries to avoid the five pungent plants, the food is okay, so not using salsa makes it blander than for others. There is vegetarian food here and you can always order certain dishes without meat. There’s also an icee machine if you’re looking for something to drink. So vegetarians can come here to eat, and other Buddhists who are struggling to find places that have food without the pungent plants can come here too. I didn’t ask if the beans have lard in it but that’s one of the struggles vegetarians face.

I work at a grocery store, and our team of employees look like america; you know, people of all shades and sizes. And i’ve been in every grocery store in sonoma county and the staffs all look similar to mine. Why do most or all of the employees at this store look latino? Do they only hire certain people, or am i missing something? If i lived nearby and wanted to work closer to home, and bring my grocery skills to work at lola’s, they’d hire me, right? I used to live in that area and i know all kinds of people live around there, and potentially would shop there. Are there people who only want to shop with people who look themselves, be served by employees who only look like themselves, and be hired by an employer who only looks like themselves? Geez, that seems very unamerican and very bigoted. Lets have a whites-only store, and a blacks-only store – come on now, what the hell? If i can buy hamburger meat and oreos & milk and tortillas, sandwich bread and peanut butter, then the people selling me my grub better look like everyone in my town. In the land of equal opportunity employment, how can you have a place that sells fruit, vegis, milk, meat, and bread and not have black, white, asian, native american, middle eastern employees? I mean, thats who works at my store – in addition to latinos. Please fill me in if i’m missing the boat here, but on face value it seems like theres something racial going on. Is it an unspoken case of «you’re not welcome to work here»? If it is then its the only grocery store i know of around here that works that way. Umm, you cant do that.

This is the worst place to buy Mexican groceries ever. This kind of establishment is what gives good, hard working, humble, respectable family owned businesses a bad name. The quality of service this place gives it’s clients deserves a negative rating if was possible. You have angry, bitter, and rude workers ignoring good paying customers with the intelligence of a 3 year old. You have spoiled food, dirty check out stands, and processes food trying to pass as authentic ethnic food, $#@t this makes me mad. Please, respect yourself enough to shop else where. Don’t lower yourself to the poor quality of service company offers. Try Ortegas Market, Rancho Mendoza, Mi Tierra, hell if all fails give Foodmax a shot before going to this peac of dump store.

I’m reviewing the restaurant food only. The food isn’t very good, it’s just okay. The beans and rice both lack flavor. The red enchilada sauce is tasty. The salsa bar is pretty good. The carne Asada tacos are packed with meat, but the meat isn’t seasoned enough, it’s bland. The staff seemed friendly. I probably won’t eat here again, and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Great supermarket. Their deli is awesome as well. I always find what I need for my Mexican dishes. So far Lola’s Chili Rellenos are the best I’ve had anywhere in Santa Rosa. Caution: everyone speaks Spanish, and they automatically assume you speak Spanish as well. Some workers get an attitude when you say you don’t understand them. Just because I look Hispanic, doesn’t mean that I am.

I picked up on Lola’s from Unilocal and popped in for lunch today. WOW was I surprised, I had their Santa Fe Salad that was $ 9.99 and it was big enough for three of us, super fresh and so tasty. My daughter had a couple of carnitas tacos and the carnitas was perfect. Not an obvious place to go, but I will be back to try more.

I got a couple burritos here — a breakfast with chorizo and egg and 2 bean and cheese burritos. Pretty good quality ingredients. Pleasant service and the ladies in the to go were so nice. Would return if in the area but not make a special trip.

This review is mainly for the restaurant. Finally went in and gave them a try, the restaurant was pretty busy with almost every table full. It was clean and inviting inside. The chips they gave were delicious and they gave us a little paper bowl with them which I didn’t understand until I got to the salsa bar which was loaded with 3 – 4 salsas, onions, cilantro, chillies and tons of fresh fruit which is what the bowl was for. Fresh fruit before or after your meal is a nice touch and different from an taqueria I’ve been to. The meal: ordered a super burrito with grilled chicken. I went out on a limb trying the grilled chicken, I usually go shredded because a lot of taquerias use cheap cuts for grilled meat and it come greasy and grizzly… not here! Big chunks of lean white breast meat! Almost tasted like rotisserie it was delicious! I’ll definitely be going back often! UPDATE: tried their shredded chicken burrito… I’m in love, may never go to another taqueria! Huge hunks of rotisserie breast meat, so flavorful and just melts in your mouth. And the fruit in the salsa bar changes daily. Last time it was watermelon and pineapple, this time it’s mango and while bananas! Can’t beat that
