I’ve been going to Dr. Slater for about 15 years. He’s the best doctor I’ve ever been to (and I’m older). He’s a warm, caring person, attentive and a careful. He willingly listens to my side of things about treatments and such, makes me part of the team. And he seems to keep up with current literature and treatments. He once save me from a possible diverticulitis emergency by seeing me right away. I was so very grateful for that.

Finding a new doctor when you move just sucks. Doyle Park Family Med seemed to be fairly well recommended, so I called and they got me in ASAP. There were a couple of doctors accepting new patients and I chose Dr. Slater since he was a USC alum (like me!). The appointment was great. He answered all my questions, did a thorough exam and history, and wasn’t running out the door after 5 seconds like pretty much every doctor I had ever seen when I was a Kaiser member. He also was really good about taking my personal preferences into account rather than trying to push things on me (ie: medications or lab tests). Overall definitely a great experience. So great that I’m already nagging my partner to see him as well.
