I called a few places asking how much they pay for 14K gold. One place said $ 17.80 per gram, another said $ 18.10 per gram. Gold X-​change said «It depends.» I repeated, What’s your rate for14K, scrap jewelry?” His answer was «$ 8 to $ 10 a gram.» I was shocked, but to be sure, I asked «Between $ 8 and $ 10 a gram?» He said «Yup.» Needless to say, I’m x-​ing Gold X-​change from my list.

Fair offer for my 24k 3.8g gold pendant. The other pawn shop down the street offered A LOT less. My gold based on the market now is worth $ 147. The pawn shop down the street offered $ 75! Several months ago another pawn shop in another city offered $ 86. The owner of this place was very friendly. I would do business with him again.

Don’t go here! They will rip you off. They gave me less than 40% of what my gold was worth. Run the other way and find a better place. If you go in and get an estimate, know that your gold is worth at least twice what they tell you. Do the math first.

I went in, and Jake is the guy who helped me identify a coin that I had, and the value of it.
He was very knowledgeable, and helpful.
I ended up not selling the coin but non the less I appreciate the service and help.
I will consider them in the future because of the care Jake showed in the process.
