We purchased a house late last year with the guidance and professional expertise of Gene Berman, owner/​broker of For Buyers Only Realty. It was a tough time in the market for buyers, as inventory was low and multiple offers were coming in on every property we were interested in. At one point we were getting frustrated and started feeling like we just weren’t going to get that home that we really wanted. We felt like maybe we just had to settle for something that wasn’t up to our standards just to get a home. That’s where Gene really shined. He kept us on track, discouraged us from writing offers on properties that weren’t for us, and we eventually got an offer accepted on the perfect home for our family.
The property was owned by a real estate company that bought it to flip. They were very obstinate and we had a hard time negotiating the contract terms and getting them to make repairs that were necessary. Gene was like a bulldog and fought tooth and nail for us. He was able to get a new file manager at the other company and got the repairs that we needed done with very little compromise. We now own the home and absolutely love it and our new neighborhood.
