Bug Busters was recommended to us by our agent when we bought our house to do the inspection. They do a good inspection and we would recommend them to do the repairs IF the other party pays for it, because they are very, very high. At the very least get other bids.

Our Keller Williams real estate agent recommended Martin for the pest inspections if the houses we made offers on and each time he did am amazing job finding those things that might otherwise be hidden – like repaired floor leaks around a toilet, termites, substandard materials used in deck building, etc. We were able to adjust our offer and subsequently get out of a house purchase that would have been a headache given all the things wrong with the place. We followed his advice in all but one respect on the house we ended up buying and regretted deviating from his recommendation at all! Martin noticed a window that appeared to have leaked and recommended taking it out and resealing it. We spoke to some trustworthy window folks and they thought it might just be a condensation issue due to blinds being kept down and said to monitor it. Well, Martin was right! Our monitoring that first winter included sopping up lots of water from the floor during a windy rainstorm and getting out in the rain to make some taping repairs to hold us over till we could reseal the window. Seller’s agents might not be happy to see him coming in for an inspection – but buyers, you ignore his advice to your peril!

We hired Bug Busters for a termite report prior to selling my parent’s home. Their report was inaccurate stating the dryer was venting to under the house instead of outside. This was not the case and was one of the first things my civil engineer father had had fixed when he had bought the house fifteen years earlier. Apparently, the Bug Buster guy saw the old pipe which had not been removed and assumed it was still attached. I had the company back out, showed them the lint around the exterior vent opening, turned the dryer on so they could feel the dryer venting, but they would not change their report. We had to pay for a sheet metal person to come out and look and write a statement saying the dryer was vented correctly. Shame on you Bug Busters!

I have been a real estate agent for 30 years, have used Bugbusters from the beginning, and then consistently when Martin took the company over years back. Well over a hundred of my clients have used his services and only one was dissatisfied, not a bad record! I find him knowledgable, thorough, honest, punctual, and easy to work with. I highly recommend Martin and his company. Catherine Sevenau, Realtor/Broker CENTURY21 Wine Country, Sonoma

My experience with Bug Busters was not a positive one. They reported pest work that needed to be done that was, not in fact, needed. Therefor, extra cost of $ 1,380 was made to clear the pest report that was not necessary. I wonder how many folks have paid this company for work that did not, indeed, need to be done?
