THEMARKETCLOSESAT5:30NOT6:00! Experience really warranted 3.5 stars. After reading all the reviews about not so great service and trying to be conscientious, by showing up at 5:21 thinking they closed at 6 based on what we found online. We saw the daggers flare in the guy’s eyes as we walked in. He was the only guy running the place and there was one couple ahead of us. I quickly mentioned that we thought they closed at 6. The guy muttered that they’d been trying to get the info updated(like 13 times) but had been unsuccessful. Despite the brusk manner, he steamed our shrimp and scallops quickly and we were back in our condo rental by 5:30(no joke). We might’ve done more to check out their offerings and bought more but I didn’t want to push our luck. I felt sorry for the guy who walked in behind us. All of that said, the steamed shellfish was phenomenal. The seasoning was a bit gritty on the scallops or maybe it was the wallops themselves. I wish they offered a spicy seasoning as well. Prices were good from what I could tell.

Some friends recommended we try the seasoned steamed shrimp, so we did. Oh man they were good! And so reasonably priced! A great alternative to going out for dinner. Just stopped in, they steamed them in 3 minutes and were on our way. Quick-Easy-Good! Can’t ask for much more! Also the homemade cocktail sauce is fantastic!

In my opinion Goatfeathers is the standard for local fresh seafood when in or on 30A. I have never been let down with purchasing what they recommend. The staff has always been friendly and provided the much needed information and assistance when purchasing fish and seafood. The shop is nothing spectacular because they impress where it matters the most, the selection! Their location also has an excellent source of shellfish and many ingredients you may need for grilling or baking your catch. A must visit when on vacation. Thanks!

Great spot with a good selection. Good and fresh. Very helpful fish dude with good advice. Also had spices and some sides. I tried the fish dip and my guests loved it. Real close to where we were staying, highly recommended.

Great casual seafood place. Excellent fresh seafood. Big portions and great kids meals also. Enjoyed the fried platter and the the stuffed grouper.

Great local seafood market. Employees are always friendly and helpful. The seafood is fresh and reasonably priced. When crawfish are in season you have to get them here! They have them cooked and ready for you and will resteam them for you. I’ve never had bad service or food from the market and the French bread in the cooler makes a great addition to your meal!

One of my favorite places to stop in the Panhandle. Get them to steam some shrimp with Old Bays with some of their homemade cocktail sauce it’s great. The crab artichoke dip is awesome.

Pros: Kid friendly Fresh fish Friendly staff Cons: Over priced Ultra dated décor Poor execution of cuisine Summary: You’re better off at a local chain restaurant.

Stopped by for some shrimp, mid afternoon. The raw shrimp were not stored on or in ice. This is a HUGE food safety issue. When I asked if they had a thermometer to confirm the shrimp was at safe temperatures, they said they did not have a thermometer at all. Probably a good place for bait, but not food. I filed a complaint with The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services today. Inspection within 2 weeks. Florida Complaint #4872375

This is a great place to pick up a few pounds of shrimp to take back to your house for and in-home dinner/lunch while on vacation. The shripm is steamed while you wait and custom spices are available. My wife and I dined-in at the restaurant location on two different trips to the area with mixed results. The first time we loved it but the second time it was only so-so due to poor table service. Now we just pick up the steamed shrimp in the market and take it home. That way we don’t have to worry about table service.
